The Carnelian Legacy is a book that I had my eye on. I didn't know what to expect---I didn't even read the full synopsis before hitting that request button.

When I started reading The Carnelian Legacy I realized just how much I'm put off by this book.

It looked so good.
It was so bad.
There are so many inconsistencies and issues with this that it's hard to track.
She ends up in an alternate dimension, but is pretty ok with that. Not much disbelief. No freakouts. Nothing. "Eh. I ended up somewhere completely different than my world and I'm probably stuck here... OK. Got to figure out my future just two days in."
People speak English, but only the people she really needs to talk to.
There's a magical/technological translator that works but we're not really told how... just that it works when it's convenient for the plot. Heck! It's whole existence is convenient to the plot! Did she ever consider learning the language? It's not like there's much else to do while riding horses across country.
Their relationship is completely wacky! I love him. He loves me. I can't love him. I'll marry someone else. No, I'll just live in misery. Wait! He loves me? Really? Huh. Oh! And he lied to me because he needed to prove something to me? But that's ok because we've always been meant to be.
This book is a mess from start to finish; it's basically one changing plot point after another. It's all based on convenience for moving the story forward instead of actually having a structure.

The beautiful cover caught my attention, but I decided to read it because I'm always in the mood for romance with an interesting twist! While this book wasn't quite what I expected, it was still an entertaining read nonetheless.
