Chloe Roberts is a journalist who is trying to write an article on the Amish produce stands for a local newspaper. This is how she meets Anna. She pulls up to the farm stand one day, not realizing she is about to make friends with a young woman who will change her life. She introduces Anna to her mother who is involved in making quilts for Project Linus, which will play a big part in Anna’s life down the road. I thoroughly enjoyed ANNA’S HEALING and quickly came to really care about all of the characters I was introduced to.

ANNA’S HEALING is the first book in the Plain and Simple Miracles series. Anna is injured in A tornado and suffers a life changing spinal cord injury. Once back home, Anna has a tough time adjusting to living life as a paraplegic. Who wouldn’t? Jacob is a young man who has no real roots who has come to help out on Anna’s uncle’s farm. He is determined not to let Anna fall into depression. When he first arrived at the farm, he couldn’t help but be attracted to Anna’s infectious smile. He is determined to get that smile back on her face.

One day a miracle happens and Anna wakes up healed. Well, this is when all the trouble for Anna begins. The media swarms her uncle’s farm as well as people who want her to heal them. Is ANNA’S HEALING a miracle? Do you think this will effect Anna’s family and friends? Will they stand by her and accept things that have happened? Hang on tight people. This will be unlike any other Amish fiction book you have read and if you are like me, you will love every minute of it!

ANNA’S HEALING really pulls at your heart strings. I was instantly caught up in the characters lives and business. It was almost as if I were sitting at the table with them and we were all friends. Anna’s friends and loved ones are all pulling for her and trying to help her adjust to her new life. It is wonderful that she has their support because she is really going to need it. Vannetta’s novels always leave me thinking about the choices I have made in my own life and how I can be a better person. I look forward to reading more of this heartfelt series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

It mas an interesting read and I liked the characters, especially the grandmother. It was interesting to see how they coped with the unwanted attention and how the joournalists frendship with Anna and her understanding of their belief grew.

This was a really good story of healing, faith and friendship. Heart wrenching at times but a beautiful ending.

Does miracles still happen? Is God actually listening to our prayers?

Anna is a bit older than your average single Amish girl - 24-year-old, not willing to settle down yet. She comes to her uncle and aunt farm in Oklahoma for the change of scenery - but she is going to experience a change of heart.

Hit by a tornado resulting in broken spinal chord, she becomes paraplegic - a tough life within the plain community. She is sincerely trying to cope with her new life, but anger, bitterness, non-understanding and even boredom seems hard to fight with.
But her pain is changing the hearts around her, as if it itself was a gift. People are leaving the prisons of their hearts to be able to feel and show more love now.
And then, one night, Anna dreams. And wakes up - healed.

Why and how is God working in our lives? Does He really have a personal plan for every and each one of us?

This is a simple book about the deep riches of the faith. The answers to questions about what is God doing in our lives are both simple and rich - and everybody needs to search their hearts to come out with some answers (or not). Faith is a deep mystery, after all. But searching our hearts can only do us good.

Being a Catholic, the mysteries of miracles are not a novelty for me. The Catholic church is examining them and teaching about them as one of the ways God is showing His will, power and grace towards us (as other denominations are certainly doing).
But encountering this mystery does not take the awe out. After all, everybody is experiencing deep pain while living on this Earth. So why is God moving in His mysterious ways?

But I must admit that I was not touched so deep as I thought I would be. But maybe it's just me.
And, after all, not everything is about me :)

Thank you, Ms Chapman, for your faith and courage.

This was a really good story of Anna, a young Amish woman who is badly injured in a tornado, leaving her with a spinal cord injury. Learning to live as a paraplegic is very tough, but Anna has some great support from her grandmother, an English newswoman, and Jacob, a young man who has come to work for her uncle. As Anna learns to accept and function in this new life, she wakes one day to an amazing thing. Her injuries are completely healed!

Anna's Healing has very likable characters and an intriguing storyline. I love the Amish setting, and reading a story where miracles do happen.
