While not entirely unusual, the themes in this fast paced
multi-themed story work fairly well together. It's pretty
routine to have Women in the Main Character seat, along
with the love interest that may or may not be able to stand
up and succeed. Time will tell here.
Our 'bad guy,' is a really interesting character who brought
out the true evil in some people, and served the point
that not all questions will have answers. And family is
turning out to be most important. The family theme
is sure to continue in the next installment.
Now is a good time to read the first two books to
provide the background that really is important.
My thanks to St Martin's Press for the download
copy via NetGalley for review purposes.
