I have always been haunted by Sharon Tate's short and tragic life and this book brought all the memories back for me. It is beautifully written in an emotionally gut wrenching style, showing the very young little Miss Tiny Tot of Dallas to her starring role in Valley of the Dolls and The Fearless Vampire Killers directed by her future husband Roman Polanski. The book does not solely focus on the brutality at the end of her life but on all the kind and wonderful things she did for many of her friends and acquaintances from quotes that the author obtained from them directly. We will never know the reason for her tragic death but she was a luminous, generous, kind and trusting human being and losing her is still a great loss. Thanks to Net Galley, the author Ed Sanders and Da Capo Press for allowing me to get to know what Sharon was really like.
