The author has captured the agony of the destruction of two long term relationships. The women are long suffering in laws and the men are father and sons cheaters. Two generations of the same recurring aberrant behaviors. The women lease apartments across the hall from each other after their marriage breakups and become fast friends. The men behave with even more destructive tactics in efforts to get their ex-wives back. Each woman is tempted with a new male friend/potential lover as they strike out to build new lives and loves. Ms. Macomber had me crying at one point with the depth and poignancy of the emotions she evokes. Always a make of a good tale in my estimation so have a tissue handy. This book is well worth an evening's read.

This book follows Last one Home, and is very compelling. I would recommend reading that one first. I love the way the author creates memorable characters and real-life, relatable situations.

Debbie Macomber's books are always refreshing to read. A Girl's Guide to Moving On is no different. Memorable characters, realistic storyline, and descriptive narrative are the perfect combination for a good read -- and A Girl's Guide to Moving On has all of those.

I always enjoy Debbie Macomber's books. This one was no exception. It was a great read, though it was not quite as good as the first book in this series.

Debbie Macomber comes through once again for readers. Taking characters you won’t find on Wall St but on your street she brings the matters of the heart home. Will she take him back? Will she venture further with her new love? Read, find out and I also recommend subscribing to Debbie’s newsletter/digital magazine. She gives 100% there as well!

I read and enjoyed the first book in this series, but A Girl's Guide to Moving on was just okay for me.
I liked the characters of Nicole and Leanne, but some of the secondary characters really got on my nerves.

Debbie Macomber is one of my go-to authors for women's fiction, but this book just didn't live up to many of her previous stories.

This is a very sweet and heartwarming story about the changing dynamics of love and family when a marriage doesn’t work. There were aspects that bothered me, but not in a significant manner. This is a series I will continue to follow now that I’ve started it.

Usually Debbie Macomber is an auto-borrow from the library for me, but this time I was lucky enough to get a copy from NetGalley and Ballantine books.
This is the story of cheaters, generations of cheaters. Nichole leaves her cheating husband and her mother-in-law also leaves hers. The both move into the same apartment building and regain their confidence and independence. They find love in unexpected people and find their happiness.

The storyline was simple. The characters were likable. The book was ok. Macomber’s books usually leave with a cozy warm feeling. This one missed the mark. It was a good read, but not one that I will reach to again.

As much as I enjoy Debbie Macomber books, I just couldn't get into this one. I honestly only read the first few chapters before abandoning it. I felt like the daughter who was trying to "move on" was overly privileged and whiny. It may have gotten better, but I couldn't get into it enough to find out.

I am not linking my Goodreads review because I didn't give one.
I enjoyed the first book in the series, and I enjoy most of Debbie Macomber's books, but I did not enjoy this one. I didn't like either romantic relationship and I really hated how Nichole treated Rocco.

I found it to be quite an engaging read. It was fairly predictable in its rhythm and conclusion but I like books with positive endings so I was okay with that. It’s a good fiction read about a woman and her mother-in-law helping each other get through their divorces and start fresh.

Thank you for my review copy Netgalley
Wish I had read this a while back when I was in the right frame of mind. Unfortunately I read this now only a few months after my own break up. I liked the characters and the writing was good but it was a little too idealised for my liking and rose tinted. I did not finish.

I haven't read one of Debbie's books in a long time but was happy when Net Galley gave me a copy. I loved this story. It was an emotional roller coaster but kept my attention. Macomber fans will love this.

This book was brilliant from beginning to end. I found myself cheering for the underdogs and booing at the bullies. As the mother of a 4 sons, I could feel the heartache as a mother was forced to decide her allegiance with her son, only because of blood, or to continue to love and support a daughter in law that you've come to love as your own. The thought of these brave women finding and fighting for their true loves while still fulfilling their "duties" they still feel obligated to. It's as if you see their conscience fighting between their wants, needs, desires and obligations.

I have already read of lot of books written by this author and every time she captures my attention from page 1. I really like her down to earth stories about every day situations. Of course there is a happy ending, but it's the way she takes you there, that's so magical. Fluently told with lots of emtions.
