Intriguing twist on Robin Hood. Easy read, fun.

I'm going over my backlog that I forgot to post on netgalley, sorry for the late posts.

Jody never fails to write incredibly well developed characters who entertain, inspire, and captivate. This book is no exception. Jody’s writing id accessible and enjoyable. Definitely recommend.

I didn't realize this was Book 2 in the series, but that doesn't matter. I love a familiar story that swaps the genders. In this Robin Hood retelling, Juliana is the bandit, disguising herself to steal from the rich and help the less fortunate. She is a strong and spirited character whose interactions with Collin were dreamy. Their banter is what stole my heart.

This medieval romance moves swiftly and is stuffed full of great characters. I loved the way things played out, with messages of love and redemption, but I could have done without some of the torture scenes.

Content: mild romance; moderate violence (torture)

Sweet YA book filled with action, adventure, and lots of great romance. Kind of like a fairy tale wrapped in a historical romance story! High quality writing with an engaging storyline.

5 Stars!!!
Wow! What an amazing book, I think I loved this one even more than An Uncertain Choice. I loved both main characters, Juliana and Collin, and as is typical in a Jody Hedlund book she created an excellent cast of secondary characters, I especially loved the fatherly, overprotective Bulldog! This book had such a cool storyline, I loved the twist on the story of Robin Hood. The title for the book was perfect, I love that the story provides teens today with a reminder that true love is truly all about giving rather than receiving.
I found myself anxiously perching on the edge of my seat for most of this book, fretting over what would happen next! And when I got to the end, boy did I have the biggest smile on my face!!! I'll stop here for fear of spoiling something, but I will finish by saying that I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone and I fully anticipate re-reading it many times in the future. I cannot wait to read Jody Hedlund's next YA book!!!

I received a complimentary copy from the author and publisher to help promote it. The above is my honest opinion. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.

I was super excited to read about a female Robin Hood-esque character, and while reading the beginning, I was enthusiastic about the prospects for the rest of the book. However, I was not a fan of the insta-love aspect. The minute Juliana met Collin, something felt different. The romance was a bit over-described, and the descriptions could get repetitive after a while. Unfortunately, I did not end up enjoying this as much as I thought I would because of the writing.

This book was even better than the first one. I loved the character development of Colin, and his relationship with the pretty lady. This was one of those books that I just couldn't put down. I found myself reading deep into the night loosing sleep. This one tied in beautifully with the first book and is leading into the third book. This writer is fast becoming one of my favorites. I even got my library to order these, love it.

I enjoyed reading An Uncertain Choice so it was no surprise that I wanted to read book two. Although I have to admit, the first book was better but this was still a good read.

I like that each book seems to continue on the quest of the characters from the previous book, one male protag after the other. I came to like the kind of friendship/kinship they have with each other. So it's unexpected that I'm rooting for each and every one of them. This time around, it was very entertaining to see Sir Collin meet his match. I mean, Lady Rosemarie had her reasons of not choosing him in the first book. But I'm glad to see him learn some humility.

I'm really excited to see what happens in book three because I know it's Sir Bennet's turn!
