I enjoyed Snapshots From My Uneventful Life by David I Aboulifia. it had me chuckling and reminiscing on my own rather uneventful life.

This is a book of the author's memories, nothing so pompous as a 'memoir', but just a random collection of memories in no particular order, mainly of moments of utter stupidity on his part.

Snapshots from my Uneventful Life (to parody the author's words) is thought provoking; there is great comedy and even a little wisdom. As the author points out, when we leave this earth we tend to take our memories with us - they disappear when we do unless we somehow succeed in passing them along.

I can relate to this having recently lost an aged and greatly loved uncle who had led a most interesting life. Several times I gave him journals and asked him to record his memories, but he never did, and now all the tales of his travels, his friends, his experiences are lost to me and the rest of our family. For some strange reason he even destroyed the majority of his photos and those he had inherited from his mother. So much is lost.

So take a chance on this very short book. It is entertaining, thought provoking and I hope it will encourage you to record your memories for the generations that follow you.

Thank you David I Aboulifia for allowing us to peek randomly into your life (so far, and long may it continue), for sharing your family with us.
