After finishing Forgetting August I was dying to read Remembering Everly and wanted to know where the story will go and it did not disappoint. Really loved and enjoyed reading both the books.

I would highly recommend it to everyone.

After reading Forgetting August, I remember cussing out J.L. Berg on Facebook. Well, not really, but I think I did call her a few bad names. However, the girl made up for that horrific cliffhanger ending and more in my opinion. This review may spoil book one.

"Secrets. They had the ability to destroy lives, obliterate relationships and sabotage even the strongest partnerships." ~ Everly

Lies. Everybody has them in this story and I couldn't wait to see how it was all going to end up. Everly has the huge lie about what really happened to August, while he's lying about Trent and Trent is lying to everybody. Man, I hated that guy. When we last left Everly, she'd gone back with Ryan and decided that August knew exactly who he was and she wanted no part of it this time around.

"Lies. I was drowning in them. I'd told so many, done so much, I felt like I was swimming in an ocean of my own undoing." ~ August

August now knows what Trent is up to, however not until now did he realize how much he was involved. All the pushing away of Everly in the past has been to protect her. Something he realised too late. August is bound and determined to learn what he can from his past, make corrections and look forward to his future. Hopefully with Everly.

"It was as if my life was an endless roll of film, and someone had come along and spliced it all up and tossed it to the floor. Now every film cell, or memory, was out of order." ~ August

The memories are coming back fast and furious. With the help of Brick, August finally sees who he was in the past and how removed he really is from that guy now. All the while, Trent is in the background plotting, planning and pulling strings to get whatever money August owes him back, while Everly is getting ready to marry Ryan.

It's a race against the clock with each character. Brick, Sarah, Tabitha and Trudy are all present and accounted for and all involved in the repairing of August and Everly. If such a thing can be done. There is so much water under the bridge, at one point you want this non-couple to throw in the towel and call it a day.

"I'd have to be dead to stop loving that woman, and even then, I didn't think my soul would ever cease seeking hers." ~ August

And there's why no towel was thrown, August and Everly were made for each other. The book was well written from dual points of view to get the entire story. Lots of action, angst and steamy sex to keep it moving along. Again, this was a different type of storyline and J.L. Berg did a great job at introducing her characters, telling their story and then wrapping things up nicely.

This book was absolutely not what I had hoped it to be and that just blew my mind! I loved it so much. More so, than Forgetting August. We finally get the answers we wanted and understand why things happened the way they did. The heartache, the angst, the romance, I loved every single minute of reading this story.

4.5 Stars!

Sadly the love triangle trope isn't one that I get along with. Completely a case of it’s not you, it’s me.

Remembering Everly ~ 4 Stars

Unfortunately, I did not realize book one Forgetting August when I requested this one so I am missing the whole history of Everly and August. August was in coma for 2 years. In this book, he started to remember what happened to him and he also remembered his tumultuous relationship he had with his fiancée Everly. Secrets and lies reveals. August and Everly both want to move on with their life. August is trying to build a new future without Everly. Everly is ready to give her heart to a new man. Easy said than done, right? August realized he cannot live without the only woman he loves and he will do what it takes to get her back. Can Everly forget the past and give August another chance? I love the characters, the twists and turns, the second romance – emotional, heartfelt. Beautifully written.

DNF.....this book wasn't for me. I won't be formally reviewing or rating this book. It has nothing to do with the author or writing, I just couldn't connect with the story.
