Rebekah and Tobias' story. Really liked this one. An Amish story with a twist, and shows a bit more realistically the outside influences and struggles they go through. Finding two small children hiding in a shed, Rebekah knows a few words in Spanish, and gets them to trust her. The young children, a 6 year old boy, and his sister, maybe 10? were sent to the US by their grandmother in El Salvador. Their mother is dead, and their father is suppose to be in San Antonio, but they haven't heard from him in awhile. Scared and alone, and frightened of the coyotes who brought them across the border and threatened to sell the girl, they found a refuge in the Amish community. Fitting story showing discussion and feelings on both sides of the issue, and made me think about different sides. I like that, and found it refreshing instead of reading extreme views pushed onto the reader. Liked the characters, and liked the budding romance between Rebekah and Tobias. Great story and author, and one I highly recommend.
