I really struggled to get through this book! I found the protagonists' relationship with women extremely problematic. Literally every female is described as 'sexy' so much so even when he is held at gunpoint he refers to the female assassin as sexy. I found this really unbearable, why are they referred to as sexy? Are normal women not hired by government bodies/terrorist groups. To me it seemed unnecessary and misogynistic.

Solid book. You can tell the author really knows his stuff, when it comes to military and investigations. If you like NCIS or JAG you will love this book. Its a very serviceable thriller. Is it at the level or a Jack Ryan, Mitch Rapp, or Reacher novel, no. But it is a definitely in that next tier below those.

I really enjoyed On Edge. There was a lot of good stuff in this book: action, espionage, mystery.

The plot follows Alex Klear on a black ops mission to discover the murderer of his longtime friend, Pete. However, things are not as clean cut as the green-on-blue killing everyone is desperately trying to make it out to be. Through the book, Klear gets more and more mixed up in the Kabul Bank failure as he gets closer to discovering Pete's killer resulting in his own life being placed in jeopardy.

The book did have some issue though, in my opinion. It seemed repetitive at times, like the plot could move forward but instead the reader is given the same information over again. This made reading slow going through parts. It did speed up at the end when everything was sort of coming together and questions were being answered.
