I can't give this an accurate rating as I didn't finish reading the book. Between now and asking for the book I lost interest in Dystopian. The worlds a dark place already lately. The writing was very good for the parts that I read.

Great idea! Should have read this one way sooner. I liked the twists and turns and found the voice of the character fresh. Will definitely recommend this one in stores!

SUCH a fun debut. I very much enjoyed reading this one. So fun and original! Cannot wait to see what she writes next.

I enjoyed this Sci-fi fantasy novel. It was at times violently graphic, but allowed the story to flow & emphasize the character's traits.

I was unable to work with this version of the title. When I asked the publisher for assistance, I received no response.

Nemesis is a Diabolic, a biologically engineered being created to protect the one person she will be bonded with. Her training made her a ruthless killer, ready to do whatever might be necessary to protect her charge. Purchased by a wealthy family as a guardian for their daughter Sidonia, Nemesis is sent in the girl's place when the girl is commanded to stay with the emperor as a hostage. First Nemesis must undergo a surgical procedure so she will look more like Sidonia. Then she must try to imitate human emotions and mannerisms, to mimic the human girl. Once she is under the Empire’s jurisdiction, Nemesis meets Tyrus, the nephew of the Emperor. His erratic behavior has earned him the reputation of being mad, but there are hints that he may not be as outrageous as he acts. His interactions with Nemesis bring out a side of her that she thought she was incapable of. Kincaid cleverly creates a dystopian world that has unique features. The characters, especially Nemesis and Tyrus, captivate and hold the reader’s attention. The story starts with a harsh introduction to the training of Diabolics but later warms with Nemesis’ human interaction. Just like the amazing cover, the book is intriguing and fascinating.
