I love the bright color splashes and art style of this book. It's humorous book, funny for me as an adult and I can imagine a roomful of kids enjoying it as well. It might be a book I add to my collection for when I teach PreK-3, because I imagine they'd enjoy it. It reminds me a bit of Are You My Mother? but with a more humorous approach. The ending is funny as well, because the egg ends up being a golf ball. I can see this being an interesting learning tool with little kids, letting them guess what animal it might be, or having them explain why, in the end, the egg will never hatch. The ending wasn't my favorite in a storytelling sense, however, as it was sort of a disappointing and Babak will never have a happy ending for all the good deeds he did.

This book caught my attention with the dynamic illustrations on the cover, however the story fell a little flat for me. I liked the idea of pointing out to children all of the different animals that have eggs, however the ending, though intended to be funny, might lead to kids just feeling lost.
