Loved this sweet picture book about a bear in New York City who doesn't want to sleep during winter because he's afraid of missing something. He kind of reminded me a bit of Winnie the Pooh.

The Bear Who Couldn't Sleep is about a little baby bear who is supposed to be hibernating. But he can't sleep! So he wanders out of his den, with his pajamas and pillow, to find something to do. In the city, no one is sleeping, because there is so much to do! The illustrations are absolutely adorable and the story is charming and funny. This book is perfect for little cubs who argue "but I'm not tired!" at bedtime.

Ah! The big city is so enticing! Why on earth would someone want to sleep when there's all the city beckoning? Surely every child would understand such thoughts! (At least my children would!) But eventually, the bear begins to feel sleepy and looks for a place to rest.

The illustrations were charming, gentle, and sweetly detailed. I loved this soft reflection on the good things of the day and the blessings of the night. It's a perfect night-time read for littles.

I gratefully received this book for free from the author, the publishers, and NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.
