Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this book and to be an early reader via NetGalley! However, I will not be writing a review for this title at this time, as my reading preferences have since changed somewhat. In the event that I decide to review the book in the future, I will make sure to purchase a copy for myself or borrow it from a library. Once again, thank you so much for providing me with early access to this title. I truly appreciate it. Please feel free to contact me with any follow-up questions or concerns.

Absolutely adored it and all the characters. Hit all my emotional buttons, my adrenaline was pumping right along with theirs and holding my own breath, not looking down. Run To You was written so well that even I want to try a few zip lines. That's all bonus though, because the real story was quite emotional with ups and downs. It's a great read when you feel like you are standing in the middle of every scene, emotionally tied to the characters, wanting to love, hug, laugh, cry or hit someone right along with them. Loved the heat, not too much, but just enough for me to feel that chemistry, and of course when there's a bit of humor to go with it all is just the best.
I received a free ARC and in return I am giving my honest opinion or review of this book. I do think Rachel Lacey is one of the best New authors and I wish her continued success for many, many years

Hahahaha, no.
Also a big "not for me."
I really liked the premise that I get more frustrated reading it. Everything just fell flat for me. I mean, yes, there are a few scenes here and there that I kind of liked but other than that, nothing, nada. /sigh/

No one is going to be all that surprised by how this one goes - they try a fake relationship, the feelings start getting real, there is a freak out moment from one or both of them, then the make-up and HEA. But that doesn't mean it isn't an enjoyable read. There are some great characters here beyond the main couple. We get Ethan's friends (who are obviously going to get their own books) but there are also a darling spitfire of a grandmother (who will just steal your heart) and quirky townsfolk to add color.
Ethan and Gabby are good together and their agreement is a double-edged sword. While they probably wouldn't have gotten together otherwise, they have a connection that they might have been willing to work with a little better without the parameters they set for it. They both have issues that they need to work through with Ethan's fear of being like his dad & Gabby's bad relationship history and they help each other come to terms with it. It takes some doing, and of course some drama, but they eventually get there. I have to admire Gabby's gumption - the girl stands tall when she needs to and that means a lot.

*****Captivated right from the start!*****
This is the first Rachel Lacey novel I've read, but certainly not the last. Right from the start I was entranced with Gabby and Ethan.
Ethan, a former Gold Medal winning Olympic swimmer, now a businessman with two of his best friends Ryan and Mike, he longs to make his grandmother proud.
Gabby, has the job my daughter would love to have. Correcting code and trying out new video games. Did I mention she has a stalker ex-boyfriend who we discover knocked her around? Learning to take control of your life after an abusive relationship is difficult. Learning to trust is almost impossible. Ms. Lacey does a terrific job of taking us through the process with Gabby.
With an instant connection, both Ethan and Gabby go their separate ways only to be pushed back together again by her stalker. But moving from an introvert to a trusting extrovert isn't easy and Lacey shows the roller coaster of emotions as well as anyone can in the pages allotted. The sex scenes are scorching hot off the charts.
Definitely one to read and cannot wait until CRAZY FOR YOU releases.

Ethan's grandmother saved the book. She was one of the few things that drew me into the story and I shed a couple of tears for her. Ethan and Gabby are both victims of domestic abusive which instead of making me feel sorry for them made me feel like it was just used as a way to prevent Ethan and Gabby from being together. Gabby doesn't give into Ethans advances because she got burned in her previous relationship and when she later gives in and wants something more Ethans past isn't allowing him to commit. Gabby's ex even appears at random times. Ryan and Mark, Ethans friends, got me interested and I want to read their books. I hope Mark will end up with his high school sweetheart. For me the secondary characters were a lot more interesting than the main ones. I even got more interested in Gabby's dog than I did with Gabby and Ethan. I wanted to see Gabby and Mark playing the video game she had partially created. Mark and Ryan are very close friends with Ethan, but Ethans lady doesn't interact with them much, even though they appear frequently. I am very tempted to read the novella in the series, but I am still thinking about it. I will see what I will do with the series after I read the second book.

Run to You was such a great way to start of the year with reading. I loved Ethan and Gabby. I am also a fan of "fake" dating. Ethan and Gabby complimented each other so well, but not in a overwhelming way (you know the sickening couple who is "just perfect" way). I especially loved that Gabby pushed her limits, not just for Ethan, but for herself. I think a lot of times I get stuck in a "I can't do this" mentality so I totally get Gabby but I like that she came out to push her limits. I also adored Ethan's grandmother.
There was a secondary plot line involving Gabby's ex that I was just meh on, but other than that I loved the story!

RUN TO YOU is book one in Rachel Lacey's "Risking It All" series. RUN TO YOU initially grabbed my attention because it has two things I love in romance, a small town and a pretend romance. Software developer Gabby Winters is taking a time-out to recharge and gain some perspective after a bad break-up. Ethan Hunter is instantly attracted to Gabby when he ends up rescuing her at their first meeting. Before either of them know what is happening, they are pretending to be in a committed romantic relationship to ease the mind of Ethan's dying grandmother. Rachel Lacey tells a stirring character- driven romance with complex characters, and a little humor sprinkled throughout.
Ethan Hunter has two goals -- making his beloved grandmother's last days happy ones, and making his new business a success. Ethan is a man who is haunted by his mother's death, and his father's abuse. Both things have made him extremely averse to committing to a woman. His relationship and flirtation with Gabby seem safe at first because the relationship has an agreed on expiration date. The drama and tension intensifies as Ethan slowly realizes his feelings for Gabby run deeper than he could ever imagine or want. Ethan's grandmother encourages the couple to give romance a try without appearing interfering and obnoxious. While Ethan struggles with his inner demons, Gabby's abusive ex turns up and almost succeeds in undermining her confidence. Rachel Lacey does a good job of balancing the intensity and moments of levity.
RUN TO YOU by Rachel Lacey is a story with engaging characters, and a romance that will hook you in from the moment the hero and heroine lock eyes on each other. The chemistry between Ethan and Gabby seems very natural and enjoyable to read about. Over the course of RUN TO YOU, the romance between Ethan and Gabby evolves from fun and flirty to something with more substance and importance. Ethan's friends and co-owners Mark and Ryan help draw Ethan out and add greatly to the story. I enjoyed the tentative friendships Gabby forms with Emma and Jessica. I look forward to reading the next "Risking It All" super steamy romance.
