In general I usually really enjoy this author, but this one wasn’t my favorite. Liked little Molly, but didn’t feel much spark between Myst and Bas. Like the title states lust is stronger than love. Would still recommend though, as it kept my interest to the end.

As I was going thru my Kindle app and my TBR list, I wondered if I had read this book. I am a huge Alexandra Ivy fan and just could not fathom that I missed this one. After starting the book this weekend I realized that I had indeed read it and had not posted the review as I had not read book 2, Blood Assassin and I have an attack if I don't read them in order. So to sum up I did not read book 2 but read book 3 and here's my review. Go figure. Lol...

This is the story of Bas and Myst and as you all probably know by now, they had a child named Molly after a one night stand. Myst drops off Molly to Bas, disappears and reappears after 5 years. Right after Molly is returned from being kidnapped? Hmmmm suspicious? Maybe. Myst explains her disappearance and Bas, strong, totally lovable and will do anything to keep Myst here with him now and not lose her, decides that they will investigate the outcome of her fate and this power that spells Armageddon. In the end we are able to see the distrust that Bas had for Myst fall away and the love that they have for each other and Molly bloom. Another great job by the famous Ms. Ivy. Loved it so much! I can't believe I forgot to post this review...Lol 4.5 stars!!!!

Bas & Myst shared one passion-filled afternoon five years ago, and then she slipped away as if she'd never existed. Bas might have thought the entire encounter was only a dream, except for the baby she left him nine months later. The last four years have kept him lamenting the woman that would give up her own child, then disappear. Imagine his surprise when merely days after his daughter is safely returned from a kidnapping, Myst appears at his door. Begrudgingly, Myst explains her need to constantly move, never staying in one place too long, as well as her need to steer clear of little Molly - for her own safety. Bas becomes determined to get to the bottom of Myst's fated destiny, because just as he felt five years ago, Bas cannot allow Myst to disappear from his life again.

The love Bas felt for Myst right from the beginning was all-consuming for him. He was willing to do anything, go anywhere to make sure Myst could be by his and Molly's side. Myst was willing to do anything at all to be certain that Molly and Bas would be safe. It was very nice to see this little family grow together throughout the book.

The only real downside (and it's not really even a downside) to this book was that I figured out what Myst's weapon was quite early in the story, so there really was no big reveal for me. I found it to be quite obvious, but I'd be interested to see if other readers found it to be as glaring as I did.

A big thank-you to NetGalley for providing this ARC to me in exchange for an honest review. I love to be able to continue series' that I began with NetGalley, so thank-you as well for providing all three of the books in this series so far!
