I really enjoyed this book! I was already a fan of the Jane's World Comic and reading a story from that world was a lot of fun.

This book is based on a comic strip that I've never read, but you don't need any prior knowledge of the comic to understand this story. It's very much a comic in novel form, low-stakes, funny, and charming in a way that feels like a longer version of a sitcom episode. It's a quick and light read with a sense of fun and optimism that made it easy to like. The writing is in service of the characters and humor, no more and no less.

I wasn't blown away, but it's a decent book to spend a few hours with.

Jane's World is a fun adventure for the reader. There is lots of humor that ranges from laugh out loud to absurd.

The characters, who I was generally unfamiliar with as I have only read a little bit of the comic, are a unique group. At least, that is the best description I have for them. They are characters (here meaning "interesting or amusing individuals").

The plot is illogical at best, but it sort of adds to the fun of the book. Jane is struggling because Dorothy broke up with her (again). Dorothy loves Jane and is upset with herself for letting Jane go. And then Jane gets a call from Ethan, her roommate, saying she needs to come home right now. So Jane makes excuses at library (her employer) to go home, only to find out she's "engaged" to a mail order bride named Natasha. The story spirals from there.

In general, Jane's World is a lighthearted book. And rather enjoyable to read in an incredulous sort of way.

This was okay. The story was a little campy for me overall.
