Honestly I don't remember much about this book. I rated it 3 stars on Goodreads when I finished it, but I am not sure why.

I really wanted to love this one, based on the cover and the blurb, but honestly, it just didn't work for me. There were just too many issues that kept me from enjoying this story. (I'm sorry!)

Fiery. Angsty. Spicy. Trouble.
Yup, this was squeal-inducing, gasp-wrenching richness that has been great the second time around and even better the first time with fresh eyes.
And speaking of eyes...
Mine are currently baggy and half-open due to this read requiring a mandatory all-nighter.
But fuck it, it was worth it.

I have mixed feelings towards this book. I think the premise is very unique and I loved being introduced to the world of racing. Both Kenzie and Hayden are amazing characters, and the attraction between them was palpable. Add the fact that this was kind of like a forbidden romance, the thrill was even more! I loved seeing Kenzie's efforts to stand tall in a male - dominated world. She doesn't take shit from anyone. But I wasn't really fond of her relationship with her father. And I can't quite put my finger on it, but I always felt like Hayden was holding back. I really didn't like the ending. I hate angst. This book had quite a bit of it and it looks like there'll be more in the next books. So, yeah. Mixed feelings!

Connection with the characters is critical for me. If I don't connect, then I just don't enjoy the story as much. Unfortunately this was the book that I just didn't connect to. That doesn't mean that anyone else won't, I already know so many have loved this book.
This book was just a domino after domino. One bad thing after the other. I honestly just wasn't a fan of Myles or Nikki, even from the beginning.
I overall liked the story behind Furious Rush. This does end with the intention of a sequel following the same characters. I wish I could have connected with the characters, but I didn't which leads to why this is 3 stars..

Stephens can do no wrong. All of her heroes have caused me great big palpitations and all made me fall in love. I will forever be her number one fan.

I love everyhting SC Stephens has written, and this story is definatly climbing its way to the top of my list.
In Furious Rush, we meet Kenzie and Hayden. Kenzie is the daughter of a famous bike racer, and just happens to be one of his team's best racers. She stumbles into a world of street racing one night and can't seem to break away from it; in more ways than one. Hayden is a new hotshot driver pulled into an enemy team. He is a very confident and cocky driver, and knows what he wants; on and off the track. Their life's intertwine together and forbidden romance, relationships and friendships are formed that could jeopardize everything each team has built. As things slowly start to fall apart, who can be trusted and who is behind all the disaster is in question.
This part one of this series, I'm assuming we will get more based on our ending, is packed full of suspense and action, and lots of romance and playfulness. All the characters we are introduced to bring so much to the story and everyhting is so well developed it flowed so well together through the pages.
Great job SC on another great start to what will be an amazing series!

Mackenzie Cox is the do good daughter of a racing legend. She plays life by the rules and doesn't like to stray from that in her quest to "making it" in the racing world. Hayden is the exact opposite of what Mackenzie stands for. He is the bad boy that doesn't follow the rules and has the potential to ruin everything Mackenzie is working towards. I really, really liked Hayden! He is he perfect bad boy. Mackenzie was kinda annoying, but I kept pushing through because even though Stephens' most known previous female leads was annoying to most, I always voted in her favor. So, on I pushed and tried to connect or find something about Mackenzie that would redeem her in my eyes.......................well, it just didn't happen. However, I felt like Hayden more than pulled his weight so it was ok.
The forbidden aspect kept me persevering. I liked it, I thought it would be enough to keep me in it to win it, but it wasn't. The thing is, I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. I just merely tolerated it. I felt it was too slow and blah blah blah until it wasn't but then I was already lost. It just didnt do it. I was expecting more umph, more angst, more something and it just never came. I have thought a lot about this and wonder if it just isn't fair to the author or the book to hold everything to my undeniable LOVE for the thoughtless series.......I don't know. I struggled and got through it but, I can't lie and say it wasn't the previous work that propelled me. I know, I know. I am sorry.
That being said, I have to be honest, that is probably enough draw for me to continue to read any S. C. Stephens book in the future. So, that being said, nostalgia push me through and I think any S. C. Stephens fan will be glad they read it.

S.C. Stephens is one of the authors who with the exception of Thoughtful (4) and Untamed (3) has gotten 5 star ratings from me. During most of the book I was leaning towards a four star rating, but in the end things changed. I will gladly give my kidney for the next book because the end (for me) is a cliffhanger. You can't drop a bomb like that and then end the book. I bet that bomb is going to cause a lot of trouble and plenty of fights between Hayden and Kenzie. Mark my words. I have a theory about, which I wish to share with you, but due to the very spoilery nature of it I can't, at least not in this part of the review. I will include it in the end though because I have to share it, even I am wrong. I just can't believe the end came after this huge revelation.
I felt like I didn't know who the read Hayden was until the last 30%. Until then he was a very shady character whom I didn't trust completely. Later though he made up for that and he stole my heart. He is not in the same league as Kellan though, but he is getting there. Kenzie grew up in her father's' shadow and is the kind of daughter who longs to hear her father say a good thing to her. As she gets more familiar with Hayden she lets more loose and does things she normally wouldn't do like breaking the rules. She was more fun to read as the story went on. Also she is a strong person and I liked how she didn't gave in to her father's unreasonable demands, even if she knew she would pay a heavy price.
Kenzies father is a douche. I thought that he was going to redeem himself in the end and make things right, but he only made things worse. I hope he has a painful death. He never said a good word to his daughter even after she broke a record. What kind of father does that? And he forced her to choose between the two things that mattered to her the most. I don't understand his reasons anymore. Hookup (yes that's a name) and Keith are as bad as Kenzie's bad. I hope they get what the deserve because I don't know who I hate the most. Probably Hookup, but Keith comes close to getting the first place.
I found the book a little predictable to be honest. Even with the stuff I wasn't 100% right I came very close to guessing them.I even figured who was behind the weird and unexplained accidents that kept happening. At this point I am hoping my theory isn't right because that will mean I have a surprise coming my way.
While this book didn't make me sit on the edge of my seat it was a complete disaster. I finished the book in two sittings ( one before I went to sleep and one after I woke up) and I didn't have a huge problem with the book so I am relatively happy. I would recommend this book with caution. I hope that the author plans to change the main couple if there is a possibility for a third book. I know Hayden and Kenzie's story is not finished yet, but I hope the author won't drug it for the shake of selling more books and creating more unnecessary drama. Btw is time for my theory:

Felicia and Kenzie are twin sisters that were separated at birth. I know it's too far-fetched, but Kenzie herself said that Felicia look more like her than her sisters did. Maybe they are even Keith's daughters since her mother had an affair with him. I just hope that Hayden didn't do anything other than kissing Felecia. Maybe the reason he disappeared is because Keith found her and was planning some sort of revenge on Kenzie's father. Hopefully, the next book will reveal everything I need to know.

I have loved everything else written by S.C. Stephens, but this was an exception. I have been with Stephens since Thoughtless. Ugh, such an amazing series. I'm not sure if it is just me, or if it really is the book. Now, I know I'm not huge on motorcycles, but I've read MC books before and I also like Stephens, so I gave it a go. Nope. Didn't like it.
Since this book is a more, "it's not you it's me" type of book, I won't be leaving a review on seller sites since they require a star rating. I think it is best to leave my review on GR's without a star rating and people can read my review and understand why.

While this book didn't have the same hold over me at Stephen's previous series, this story was a lot of fun, and I loved the premise, based in the racing world. I'll definitely be reading the next!

Furious Rush was a great standard romance novel. It had tension throughout the entire book, although much it was fabricated by the characters. That in and of itself made it hard for me to feel sympathetic because so much of the trouble was caused by Kenzie and Hayden's actions. However it was intriguing and did keep me engaged. 3 out of 5 stars.

I was so excited when I found out that S.C. Stephens had a new book coming out. I am a huge fan of hers, and Furious Rush looked and sounded right up my alley. Unfortunately I have been struggling with this book from the very start and ended up having to throw in the towel. Right now this book just isn't working for me at all, and I couldn't finish it. Hopefully at some point I can give it another chance, since I have loved books from S.C. Stephens so much in the past.
As the daughter of a racing legend, Mackenzie Cox has a lot to prove. The last thing she needs is to deal with the sexy new driver that has been hired by her team's biggest rival. Hayden Hayes gets under her skin immediately, insinuating that she is a princess that has only been successful due to her daddy. But the more these two are around each other, the harder it becomes to stay away from one another. When the most important rule to their teams is to never have any contact with the enemy, Mackenzie and Hayden struggle with their growing attraction to one another and where the connection between them could possibly go.
I will admit that my biggest issue in this story was the characters. I didn't like Mackenzie. She seemed to have no backbone, letting those around her walk all over her and get away with whatever they felt like. All the while she had a total attitude towards Hayden and made a ton of assumptions about him. She came off as completely immature and I just couldn't warm up to her. Hayden was a jerk. Rude and judgmental, making assumptions of his own. He was sexist and awful, and I felt zero connection between these two. I also couldn't stand the secondary characters here. Mackenzie's friends were horrible. They were worse than she was and I got so tired of how idiotic they all were. Their actions were beyond frustrating, and the fact that Kenzie let them just do whatever really irritated me. Unfortunately this started immediately with the beginning of this book, and it just continued to get worse. If her friends weren't bad enough, her father was even worse. She wanted nothing more than to continue the family legacy and make him proud and he was absolutely awful to her. Why she felt like she needed to impress him after the way he treated her, I will never understand.
With all the issues I had with the characters, I had to put this book down and move on. There was just nothing to keep me wanting to finish this book, and it just wasn't working for me. I was so disappointed because I think S.C. Stephens is a great writer. For some reason this book just wasn't clicking for me, and that could just be for me personally. I tried walking away and coming back, but after several times or trying to get into Furious Rush I ended up setting it aside at a little after 30%. If this book sounds like something you might like, I encourage you to give it a go. Not every book is for every person, and this one might work better for you than it did for me. I did see that while this one does have an ending, it was pretty abrupt and is more HFN than HEA and it looks as though this might continue since things were left open for more. With the way I struggled here, I am not sure that I will be able to get into this one eventually or continue on if this does become a series.

3-3.5 stars
Time for another book by the legend that is SC Stephens! And what a ride it was!
I loved Kenzie's spirit and determination to be the best there has ever been. Her loyalty to her family and her resolve in wanting to save her family's business.
Being the youngest and only racing daughter in the Cox family, she had a lot of pressure riding on her success especially considering the fragile state of the business.
Hayden Hayes is a mystery. To me, he is a tortured soul with one heck of a back story to tell. He wants to make his life better, he wants to BE better. And, of course, he has to be racing for Cox Racing's rival - the Bennetti's.
Of course, they embark on a journey of rivalry, of competitiveness, of all-out war on the race course. Kenzie rides better when she's racing Hayden. Hayden doesn't know why but he is fascinated with Mackenzie.
What begins is a slow burn of a tempestuous relationship. A forbidden one. An explosive one.
I enjoyed their banter, their blatant attraction and the sexual tension palpable between the lines. Hayden intrigued me and his story is one I would be keen to explore further. The ending leaves the story very open for more - my only hope is that it isn't too dragged out.
My reason for 3-3.5 stars is purely due to my personal feelings that it felt very similar to a previous series by this author with the characters displaying close personality traits. I am curious as to how the story will progress and how these characters will develop.

Kenzie holds the weight of the world on her shoulders. With her families struggling racetrack. Her father and his ex-best friend share this track and are mortal enemies. I am talking war-of-the –roses- type of battles. Neither of them giving an inch and both waiting for the other to give up and buy out so they could both move forward. Seems pretty simple but in reality so far from it.
The pressure is on for Kenzie, this is her last year to make waves and get noticed so that they can finally get that big sponsor. If she doesn’t, her father will have no choice but to sell his portion of the track she has called her second home since she was a little girl.
When the infamous street racer, Hayden appears, things get interesting. After all, it is a strict rule for each team that there is no fraternizing with the enemy.
Kenzie and Hayden are like magnets when it comes to one another. They bring out the best in each other when it comes to teaching, learning and racing. With Hayden racing by her side, she can do no wrong.
So what is a gorgeous woman and a sexy man to do? They agree to meet each other in secret after hours when no prying eyes are around.
As they get to know one another, they develop feelings that neither of them expected.
Hayden wants nothing more than to be with Kenzie and Kenzie is torn between her love for Hayden and for her father but also determined to do what she can to save her families track.
The angst, heartache, fear and happiness will keep you enthralled in the motorcycle racing life.
These new characters are amazing. I felt Kenzie's confusion, determination, her love and her guilt but mostly her happiness. My heart broke for her when it came to her and her father's relationship.
Hayden is a bit dark and mysterious. Even though he has this tough exterior and the company he keeps is questionable, he has a heart of gold and truly protects what is his. When his boss brings on a new team member, the word shocking isn’t enough.
The struggles that Kenzie and Hayden have faced are nothing compared to what is coming at them.
This story was definitely a rush and I can't wait to see what happens with Kenzie and Hayden.

I love S.C. Stephens books. She always finds a way to pull you into a story. I just can't get enough of her awesome heroines and her sexy heroes!! Can't wait for more.

Blog Tour, Q&A & Giveaway: FURIOUS RUSH by S.C. Stephens https://readinginpajamas.com/2016/09/02/blog-tour-qa-giveaway-furious-rush-by-s-c-stephens/ via @ReadingPajamas

I'm torn over this book. On one hand, I liked the main characters and the storyline was interesting. But on the other hand, I didn't love the main characters and some of the secondary characters irritating the loving hell out of me.
Hayden, the hero, should have been a bad boy that I loved. He was more than some of the illegal activities he participated in. But I didn't find myself loving him. I liked him. But it never evolved to anything more.
Kenzie, the heroine, had the weight of the world on her shoulders. She was in a tough spot and truly trying to do the best thing for her family and their legacy. And when she finds herself being drawn to the one person she shouldn't, I didn't really root for her. She was often a bitch to Hayden, which made me wonder why he tried so hard. And when she found herself caught in a web of her own lies, it was hard to feel sorry for her. She should have put her big girl panties on well before when she did.
I'm intrigued as to how this series will continue. Will the focus continue to be on Hayden and Kenzie, or will one of the other secondary characters be front and center. I'm hoping if Hayden and Kenzie continue on in the next book, the characters become a lovable (although I will confess, I hate Keira but continued on through the Thoughtless series...which I ended up loving).
