Thank you to Net Galley and Atria for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Another gripping thriller from Kristina Ohlsson in the Fredrik Bergman series. Set against the backdrop winter in Stockhom, in the matter of days a school teacher is killed and two young boys go missing, investigators Fredrika Bergman and Alex Recht have to untangle the mystery of what happened, who committed these crimes and how the Israeli tale of the Paper Boy ties into everything. As usual the story propels forward with lots of twists and turns and keeps the reader on the edge of their seats to find out whodunit. A few too many characters, but overall a great read. |
I enjoyed this. Reading this book is like peeling back layers to work through a puzzle. It story has a bit of grit to it which makes it better. I like being able to see the thought process of characters. This is the kind of book that you read because of the strong story and not just for the reveal. Things are described in a very articulate manner making it very easy to create a mental picture. There are quite a few twists in the story and it was easy to stay interested. |
It seemed different then the other books in the series. I liked that |
This is probably the best book yet in this series. I really enjoyed the characters, the hidden agendas, the secrets, and trying to figure out how and why these events were happening. This is dark with some shocking deaths but it was so engaging that I couldn't stop reading. The only thing I didn't love was the ending and how certain responsibilities for the crimes went unanswered for. I gave this 4 stars on goodreads. |
