Sting is a classic Sandra Brown. Secrets, suspense, and sizzling chemistry between the H/h. It's a good read. I read the ebook first, but later tried the audio version. I gave it an extra star for the audio version. The narrator hooked me with his performance. Stephen Lang made it like the first time for me.

Jordie Bennet's life has been full of tragedy and betrayal. She's living under a cloud of suspicion, but works hard to make her business a success. Jordi finds herself confronted by hit men, kidnapped, and terrorized. Shaw Kinnard believes she is the key to finding a missing fortune. He is determined to keep her alive long enough to find it. The book is full of twists and turns right up to the end. I enjoyed the sultry Southern romantic/suspense.

I did get the ebook from Netgalley for an honest review.

This is a fantastic book by one of my longtime favorite authors. Sting grabbed my attention in the beginning and didn't let go. I was mesmerized by the storyline and loved the characters. This master storyteller is at her best in this one.

This book is a thriller with some romance on the side, and I was surprised by how much I liked it! The plot was interesting, and I was eager to see how it ended. I thought the ending was great, too.

Wow! A roller coaster ride! Not at all what I expected. Intrigueing and entertaining. Great characters and story flow. Edge of your seat reading until the last word. Highly recommend.

I love Sandra Brown and thought she couldn't write a bad book. This book wasn't bad it just fell flat for me. She does not tell the story chronologically and jumps around to throw the reader off track. Somehow it ends up less delicious than her books usually are. I will still read any book she puts out, this just wasn't a favorite

DNF at 10%.

I've read Friction by Sandra Brown earlier and loved it, so I was really looking forward to reading this one. I was well aware that Brown's novels had steamy scenes in them, but in Friction, the scenes went well with the story. But this book was way too much and the sexual tension shown between the 2 main leads in the first 10% of the book made me feel so awkward that I simply couldn't go further.

The writing felt off too and it was more tell than show. On top of all this, the snide remarks of the protagonist were way too much for me.
This book felt more like an overly sexed up New Adult rather than a Thriller. Or at least that's how I felt.

If you don't mind reading this kind of content then you might actually like this book. I don't usually have trouble reading normal sexy stuff (seriously, who does?!), but it's just that I was hoping to read a really good Thriller and really high expectations from this one.

This was an exciting book. It kept you on the edge of your seat. There are twist and turns. There is a hit out to kill Jordie. Instead Shaw takes her capture. They are on the run from gangster and the police. You aren't sure if Shaw is a good guy or bad. There are twist till the very end.k

I’m a huge Sandra Brown fan and have been for so many years. I have never been disappointed with any of her books. Ms. Brown’s romantic suspense novels are amazing and she is my absolute favorite author.

I love that the location is a bayou and not in a big city. It’s the perfect setting for a romantic suspense novel to take place. This is a must read! A+

Two hitmen are out to kill Jordie Bennett. One of the hitmen, Shaw abducts Jordie wanting to get the $30 million Jordie’s brother has stolen. He’s not the only one after the money. Shaw and Jordie are on the run from the FBI and a criminal. They have to trust each other to stay alive.

Summary:
When Jordie Bennet and Shaw Kinnard lock eyes across a disreputable backwater bar, something definitely sparks. Shaw gives off a dangerous vibe that makes men wary and inspires women to sit up and take notice. None feel that undercurrent more strongly than savvy businesswoman Jordie, who doesn’t belong in a seedy dive on the banks of a bayou. But here she is . . . and Shaw Kinnard is here to kill her.

As Shaw and his partner take aim, Jordie is certain her time has come. But Shaw has other plans and abducts Jordie, hoping to get his hands on the $30 million her brother has stolen and, presumably, hidden. However, Shaw is not the only one looking for the fortune. Her brother’s ruthless boss and the FBI are after it as well. Now on the run from the feds and a notorious criminal, Jordie and Shaw must rely on their wits-and each other-to stay alive.

Miles away from civilization and surrounded by swampland, the two play each other against their common enemies. Jordie’s only chance of survival is to outwit Shaw, but it soon becomes clear to Shaw that Jordie isn’t entirely trustworthy, either. Was she in on her brother’s scam, or is she an innocent pawn in a deadly vendetta? And just how valuable is her life to Shaw, her remorseless and manipulative captor? Burning for answers-and for each other-this unlikely pair ultimately make a desperate move that could be their last.

I admit that at first I wasn’t sure if I was going to like where this story was going. I didn’t know what to think of Shaw and what was happening. My leeriness almost gave me reason to quit reading. I am SO glad I didn’t give up. This book is fantastic! It is a perfect mix of romance and suspense. There were also several side characters that added to the enjoyment of the story. I don’t want to go into much detail and ruin the book. Definitely one you want to go into blindly, but I promise you it’s worth it!

BOTTOM LINE

Sandra Brown continues to prove why she’s the queen of romantic suspense. A must read!
