My least favorite. You're introduced to a new world, but I felt confused the whole time. And I wish I knew how to say anyone's name now |
I no longer read the erotica genre. I no longer request books from this genre and did not download this book before it was archived in 2017. |
Setta Jay's series is becoming one of my favorite paranormal romance series ever. I adored all the characters. I loved discovering this new world and I'm excited to see what happens next. Gefn and Pothos had good chemistry and I liked seeing them get together. |
This book was okay - not great. I really loved the characters and I was drawn in by the description. I was SO EXCITED for the plot. The smut and relationship really overpower the plot (which is okay) but based on the description I was expecting a lot more action. I didn't realize that it was part of a series when I read it so I felt fairly out of the loop - but the way in which Setta writes romantic scenes as a whole is very intimate and welcoming, like you're peeking in on a moment. Can't wait to read the rest of the series. |
Did not realise it was part of a series. So have not read as I want to start at the beginning |
3.5 stars... which looks a little low, I know, and it isn't that I didn't like the book, I did, but I felt it was missing action. It was leading up to a battle like a few others in the series have and honestly I just felt like the overall story didn't have enough going on outside the relationship for me to love it. There's a 'fight' scene or two but they're pretty short and I think I just needed a little something more. If you're reading it for the sex scenes however, you won't be disappointed (and let's be honest, it's the best part hehe) |

This is another one to add to my favorite list. Couldn't stop reading it until it was finished. Setta is really good at creating tension between the two, and how explosive their relationship becomes. Super steamy and it will definitely blow you away. I really liked it how the introduction to a new world was executed. Super excited for the next one, seriously can't wait until I can get my hands on the next one. |
Review copy courtesy of the publisher via NetGalley. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I've been eagerly waiting for Pothos' story to be told and I wasn't disappointed! I've probably said this in a lot of my reviews for this series and I'm going to say it again.... It's entirely possible to start this series with this book (Book 9 in the Guardians of the Realms series). Like all great series, all the information a reader NEEDS is given in the book. BUT, I feel like it would be better to start from the beginning so that readers can get a general idea of the world and the players. You don't even need to read all eight preceding books! Just a couple! On the other hand, there is a larger war that is happening that is woven throughout the series. It's not a big deal in the first couple of books but in later books, the war is getting bigger and more important, and more characters are being brought in from different areas? So it MAY get a bit confusing. But whatever, let's talk about the dang BOOK! LOL! The characters were all really great. I love the mix of humor and heart in Pothos and in his love interest, Gefn. Of course, it wouldn't be a fun book if everything went smoothly right from the start so there's plenty of conflict! The Sexy Time was very hot and I enjoyed reading about Pothos and Gefn. I had a blast reading this book and I'd recommend it to any reader that digs paranormal romances that take place within a richly developed world! |
I am so impressed by Setta Jay, she is such an amazing author! I just can't get enough of this vivid world she creates! |
As much as I like this series (beyond all the smuttiness and sex-crazed otherworldly beings) I am beginning to find myself a bit bored. Don't get me wrong, I still liked this book, but oddly, I want more of the plot, instead of the romance. In this installment, Pothos (known as P) finds his mate Gefn. Gefn is a goddess of another world, and this book picked up exactly where the previous book left off. With a standoff between the worlds, before P whisks away with Gefn for some old-fashioned bonding time. As you can imagine, the story is predictable from there, the two mate, and Gefn's brothers try to intervene, a little bit of plot development with whatever bad shit is going to eventually happen. I liked the new characters, and the hint at what the next book is about. However, there are officially too many characters to keep track of. I have very little idea who anyone is anymore, they are just a list of names at this point. And with these new characters (and their names), it seems less likely that I will remember them as well. I can see all these new romances developing, but I'm really not interested in that aspect anymore. Overall, the book was good. I read it all in one sitting, it was short, but had a couple things I didn't quite see coming. I am committed to finishing this series, and am excited for the next one to come out. |
One of my favorite series ever. Setta Jay takes you to a world full of mythology and great romances. Brilliant! |
Storm of Ecstasy took a different method to their mating bond and I loved it. There were no games it was pure exploration of each other worlds and bodies. It was a sexual journey of the past, present and future. How Setta Jay managed to make story telling and world building sexy and hot at the same time is beyond me but she did. I was fully engrossed the whole time. P has always been the quiet controlled power, not one to be underestimated, but he isn't one to loose his mind. Even with all that is happening with Gefn and him he manages to treat her with care and give her what she needs to build the bond that is strong and everlasting. One of my favorite parts, is when Gefn trusted companions, Spa and Velspar, championed for him... goosebumps. It's bitter sweet, this being the second to the last book, but what she has coming next has me so excited. Another Amazing addition! |
