H.F. Heard's writing style sometimes takes a while to enjoy because of attention to detail and esoteric language. Once the reader gets used to his writing, the mystery turns out to be enjoyable and easy to follow.
The retired Mycroft Holmes has his own cranky, quirky Watson, and they solve interesting crimes.
I would give this novel 4.5 out of 5 stars.
