I started this book with a bit of trepidation, unsure of how to feel about Matt and the rest of the band. Once it became clear that this new spin-off series about Riley’s band was going to be all about the redemption stories of the band members, I gave myself over to the story. I soon came to see Matt as a hurting soul who was searching for his place, after being knocked off his pedestal.

I truly enjoyed this story as Matt and Vivienne built on their friendship before giving into their attraction and building a romantic relationship on that foundation. This is a great story of love and acceptance, along with the realization that just because our original dreams don’t always turn out how we planned, that the new dream may be even better. I loved that characters and the story and am now looking forward to reading the rest of the Band on the Run series.

*I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and chose to provide feedback.

While the band is on hiatus Matt decides to try his hand at Broadway and it flops big time and the media has been merciless. In order to escape he has decided to stay at Aaron’s house who is his best friend not realizing that Aaron’s sister Vivienne would be staying in the guest house at the same time. Vivienne is a food blogger and was not impressed that Matt was staying on the property due to an embarrassing situation two years that he doesn’t even remember. As they spend time together while she tries out new cooking recipes on him they became close and were a perfect match for each other as she was very uptight and organized and he was a fly by your seat kind of guy. Samantha Chase has once again written a winner with well developed characters, chemistry and realistic family ties. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Honestly, this just ended up being an OK read for me. I really didn't like wither of the main characters. They both annoyed me. Matt was too self-centered and Vivienne was too uptight. I normally love sister of best friend romances, but this one just kind of fizzled out. I didn't buy into it. I probably won't continue with the series.

One More Kiss is the first book in the Shaughnessy Brothers spinoff series. And this series surrounds the boys of Riley's band. And One More Kiss is Matt and Viv's story.

Matt and Viv have known each other since they were kids. She is Aaron's little sister and that's how things have always stayed between them. There isn't any sort of lust or longing between the two of them from growing up.

Their story is like one we've all read before but it's Samantha's writing style that gives this book a little more flare and sweetness. Samantha has this way with her writing that melts your heart and has you loving her characters.

I really enjoyed watching these two warm up to one another and help each other out. They not only grow individually but they grow together too.

The book at points did move a tad slow for me, but that's how Samantha builds her stories - she gives you the slow burn. Another sugary, sweet romance in the bag for Samantha Chase!!

Welcome to the new series from Samantha Chase! This series is called “Band On The Run” and in it, we meet more members of band, “Shaughnessy”. Readers of Samantha Chase are familiar with the Shaughnessy family and Riley’s band. However, if you were to new Samantha Chase, you would be able to read this book and understand everything that is going on.

I can honestly say this is probably my favorite book from Samantha Chase! I had trouble putting it down, and when I did have to go back and actually do “adult” stuff, I couldn’t stop thinking about Matt and Viv.

One of my favorite aspects of this book is that while it’s a new series, and different direction for the author, she still maintained a lot of the qualities that make her one of my favorites. One example of this is that we see Matt talking to someone about how he’s feeling regarding the break from the band. Later, he opens up to Viv. Instead of making the characters rehash the same topic, this author simply conveys that Matt opened up to her. As a reader, we already know what is on his mind. I like this because it leaves more room for other parts of the story.

I really loved Viv’s character. I could see a lot of myself in her character and so I was able to align with her easily. Viv could be described as kind, caring, rigid, and maybe somewhat distant. She is focused on her career and is incredibly talented. The reason I list these things is because Matt brings her rest. Matt is the more spontaneous side of the relationship. He’s much more relaxed and I enjoyed seeing him bring that side out of Viv.

I think many times in books, we see characters that are really similar and we can understand why they get along. But in this book, the characters are similar but yet very different. I really enjoyed seeing the push and pull between Viv and Matt, and watching them bring out the best in each other.

I can’t recommend this book enough. I enjoyed it so much! It’s sweet, sexy, and one of the best love stories I think I have read.

: 3.75 stars--ONE MORE KISS is the first installment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult SHAUGHNESSY: BAND ON THE RUN romance series- a spin off from her Shaughnessy Brothers Series. This is guitarist Matt Reed, and food blogger Vivienne Forrester’s story line. You do not have to have read the original series to understand or follow One More Kiss. Any important information from the previous series is revealed where necessary. We were first introduced to Matt in THIS IS OUR SONG (Shaughnessy Brothers #4).

Told from dual third person perspectives (Matt and Vivienne) ONE MORE KISS is a story of forbidden romance between guitarist for the band Shaughnessy Matt Reed, and foodie blogger Vivienne Forrester. For years Vivienne has had a crush on her brother’s best friends, the now famous rock guitarist Matt Reed, and when she finally had the nerve to do something about it, Matt was whisked from her life without a backwards glance. Fast forward two years and Matt Reed comes back to his hometown following a disastrous Broadway debut and attempt at a solo career. Hiding out until the media frenzy died down, Matt would find refuge at the home of his childhood best friend Aaron Forrester, wherein a relationship will ignite with his best friend’s younger sister. What ensues is the growing love between two people who have no idea how the future will unfold.

The romantic relationship between Matt and Vivienne is slow to develop as our story line couple dance around one another while Matt adjusts to time alone. Vivienne works from home and Matt offers to be her ‘guinea pig’ and taste test the recipes Vivienne has to offer. The romance is passionate; the $ex scenes are implied.

Riley and Savannah Shaughnessy (This Is Our Song) play secondary and supporting roles, as well as several members of the band who are also struggling in their personal and professional lives- while the band is on hiatus, Riley finds success with a solo career, Matt will find love, Julian begins to manage the career of an up and coming female star, and Dylan all but implodes. We are introduced to Vivienne’s brother Aaron-an over protective older brother who isn’t happy about Matt’s interest in his younger sister; and Matt’s father-a man who made Matt’s younger life miserable as the memories continue to assault our story line hero.

ONE MORE KISS is a story of romance and love; of second chances, trial and error, and acceptance of what was and what will be. The premise is sweet and lighthearted; the romance is sensual and tender; the characters are colorful and inspiring. ONE MORE KISS is a heartwarming look at falling in love and a happily ever after.

This book is the first in the Band on the Run series... a spin-off from the Shaughnessy family series by Samantha Chase. I am in love with all the Shaughnessy books and this is no exception.

Matt (Matty) Reed is part of Riley Shaughnessy’s band and while the band is on hiatus, he tries his hand at producing and starring in a Broadway musical. Unfortunately the show is a flop and he begins to question his talent and his musical abilities. He chooses to disappear from public view to lick his wounds so to speak and ends up at his best friend, Aaron’s, house in his hometown.

He is looking for some time alone to reevaluate what he wants to do and does not expect to encounter Aaron’s sister Vivienne who is living in the guest house. He and Vivienne have a history… a few years in the past, they shared a kiss which Matt does not clearly remember due to his drunken state at the time. Vivienne clearly remembers the kiss and is heartbroken that Matt does not.

The more time they spend together, the clearer it becomes that they are meant for each other. Vivi draws Matt out of his self-imposed withdrawal from society and their relationship slowly blooms from a friendship into something much much more. Matt and Vivienne help each other deal with their emotional baggage and demons from their respective pasts on their journey to their HEA.

What I really liked about this book was the portrayal of Matty as a real person.. not just a rock star looking for fame and for notoriety. Samantha showed his emotional side and how his past affected who he is now. I would recommend this book without hesitation and look forward to more of the Band on the Run series!

One More Kiss is the perfect start to the new spin-off series Shaughnessy: Band on the Run. Samantha tackles several issues in this book and does so brilliantly. This is such an emotional, powerful, heart-warming story, one that you do NOT want to miss!
While the band is on a break, Matt is berated and belittled in the media after his Broadway debut tanks. He needs to lay low and, although he would rather be anywhere in the world than his hometown, he takes up his best friend Aaron’s offer to stay at his place while he heads out of town on business. Little does he know Aaron’s little sister, Vivienne, also lives on the property in the guest cottage.
Vivienne is a top notch food blogger and has recently remodeled her brother’s guest cottage and is ready to move in. When she comes face to face with Matt and realizes he doesn’t remember their encounter two years ago, the one where she stepped out of her comfort zone and kissed him, she is mortified and angry. Is she really that forgettable?
At first I was a little taken aback at how Matt was taking the media attacks on him and his performance on Broadway. I didn’t understand why he was taking it so hard and letting it make him cowar and hide. Then Samantha throws in the twist of his past and his father and it all made perfect sense. I think the scene between him and his dad was one of the most powerful and emotional moments in the book. Vivienne finally speaking up and expressing herself to her mother was another emotional scene written perfectly.
I appreciated how Vivienne flipped crap back on Matt and stood her ground, I can’t stand a weak and whiny woman as a lead character. Matt and Vivienne may have started out on the wrong foot, but once they opened up and actually communicated with each other things really begin to heat up. The chemistry was explosive and HOT. They are a perfect balance for each other. I loved watching them get to know each other, cooking together, becoming friends then lovers. Aaron’s reaction was both understandable and believable.
The whole book is wonderfully written. You will be anxiously turning each page, full of anticipation to see what happens next. Bravo Samantha!! Well Done!!

One More Kiss (Shaughnessy: Band on the Run Book #1) by Samantha Chase is a work of art! Matt “Matty” Reed is a selfish, self-centered rock star with a taste for whiskey. His first solo project, a gig on Broadway, gives him a solid reality check. Failure sends Matt into hiding and the hideout happens to be his best friend Aaron’s house in his hometown. This secluded hiding place also brings Matt back into Vivienne’s life.

Vivienne is Aaron’s sister and she has known Matt since they were kids. The thing is…Vivienne saw Matt two years prior and they shared a hot kiss that Matt doesn’t remember. The attraction between Matt and Vivienne is still front and center and as they spend time together (and kiss again) Matt remembers the first kiss.

Together Matt and Vivienne wander down the road to having a relationship. Vivienne helps Matt reemerge into society. Their relationship is sweet and while the heat is just under the surface, the relationship is more about support, trust, long conversations, and fun. This story is classic Samantha Chase and it left me, as the reader, with a smile on my face!

If you love any book by Samantha then you'll love this new spinoff series. It's great to have the band's story also. I love this book and can't wait to read more in this series. It keeps you wanting more like all her other books.

I enjoyed this book. To me, it wasn't my favorite by her but I still found it enjoyable and well worth the read. I like how Matt and Vivianne's story flowed and everything that came with it. This wasn't a "I can't put this book down" read but I did want to know what happened between them.

Samantha is a go to author for me and this is another book by her I would recommend. Her writing just makes me happy. If you're wanting a read without the roller coaster ride then this book, or any of her books, are the way to go.

ENJOY!

One more kiss grabs you from page one and doesn't let you go until the very end. This book follows Matty Reed the lead guitarist from the group Shaughnessy. The group has taken a break to do their own projects and after some missteps and bad publicity Matt needs to just lay low for awhile. His childhood best friend Aaron Offers him a place to stay. Aaron's little sister Vivienne ,the most beautiful woman Matt has ever seen lives in the guest house.

Matt had a brief encounter with Vivienne a couple years before but he thought he imagined her but Vivienne thought he didn't remember her because she was too forgettable. Aaron leaves for a few weeks on a business trip and Vivienne's feelings towards Matt are less than friendly. Vivienne works from home as an editor and food blogger of a lifestyle magazine. As time goes on Matt and Vivienne spend time together cooking and they become friends and then things heat up from there.

This book keeps you on the edge of your seat and engaged every step of the way. Samantha Chase haste such a great writing style that just flows so well and her characters are relatable and easy to connect with. Reading a Samantha Chase book stays with you long after you have finish reading it and that's what makes a great writer in my book.

One More Kiss
Band On The Run Book 1
Samantha Chase
🌟🌟🌟🌟 I didn’t want this to finish stars.

Man I loved Riley Shaughnessy story, but I think I have yet another new favourite. His name Matt Reed. I loved his floored character, that requires a strong woman to love him and to bring him back from the brink of.... well everything! Samantha Chase has once again created and told the story of a mentally troubled man and an unsuspecting young wo an who will change his world forever... Well written, and loveable characters means this a great story to sink your teeth into. Who doesn’t love a bad boy, complete with bad boy image and a smart woman nit afraid to stand up to said bad boy?

When Shaughnessy split and Matt Reed decided to go it alone in the theatre world, but scathing reviews and a failed show, has this one time huge rockstar hiding out, in his hometown with best friend Aaron at his huge ranch. Returning to North Carolina is harder than he ever imagined, dealing with his career fallout and anxiety peaking over staying out of sight Matt funds himself hitting rock bottom. The punches keep coming when he finds Aaron ‘s younger sister is moving into the cottage on Aarons property. She is gorgeous, smart and ready to tip him apart.

Vivienne Forrester has been in love with Matt Reed for years. That fateful night she finally got him at his final concert is burnt into her brain. That kiss, the heat behind it, and if course his lack of memory of that night. Now THAT MAN is going to be living metres from her. Preferring to be angry at his hiding out then to fight for what she lost before. Viv has her own family struggles, the parents who went rogue on permanent holidays, her constant put down from her mother and of course older brother who really loves her, but plays the overprotective card makes a strong willed woman crazy and insane. She should be celebrating her new job, now she is face to face with her past. A past she would prefer to forget, but in reality cannot push away.

Together Vivienne and Matt will work together to fix those broken pieces of each others lives. Matt will find himself from opening up the Vivienne, and through the fun of cooking together, blogging together and some serious heat filled days and nights, they will move past their pasts and look forward to a future together. With many highs and lows seeing Matt and Viv grow together, and jump life’s hurdles fun, laughs, fears and tears.

This is a must read, if you like a love story with plenty of drama and steam. Ms Chase continues to create fantastic stories that keep you page turning and squirming.

I don't think I can give this book enough stars. My reaction to this author's books is very similar to another one of my favorite authors, Erin Nicholas. Every time they write a book I think it can't possibly be better than the last one because that one was my favorite. But then they blow my expectations out of the water. Matt and Vivienne in this book just had the perfect chemistry. The romance was amazing, the story was strong. If you haven't picked up a Samantha Chase book you are missing out on a pretty outstanding author.

Wow! Samantha! A great start to a new series. Shaughnessy: Band on the Run. This story follows Matt Reed, a typical hot rock star and Vivienne, the sister of his best friend Aaron. Matt has a failed attempt on Broadway so he hides out at his best friends. Little does know Vivienne is moving in to her brothers guest house. These two meet again after a kiss that happened two years earlier. Matt has completely forgotten this kiss and Vivienne is furious. But, as they get to know each other and another kiss he remembers the kiss they had previously. This story is full of emotions but such a lovely and heartwarming love story. Follow Matt and Vivienne's journey and you will not be disappointed. Looking forward to continue on with the series.
Was given an ARC to read.

This book is romance at its finest!! I don't think there's one thing I would change.I loved Vivienne and her passion for cooking. Most of all I loved that Matt cared about her enough to want to know all about it. I also loved watching Matt come from one of the lowest times in his life to the happiest. I loved how Samantha wrote the parts of the story with his father and giving him a little sister was perfect. I can't wait for the next Band On A Run book.
