"One More Kiss" is the first book in a new series and the first book I have ever read by Samantha Chase. I thought it was an interesting story and liked the concept of the plot. Matt was a member of a very well known rock group, Shaughnessy. At the end of their tour, the band breaks apart to pursue individual dreams. Matt decides to star in a rock broadway show. Unfortunately for him, the show tanks horribly and is cancelled within three days. Due to his horrible performance, the press questions the validity of his talents and even the talents of his fellow band members. His manager forces him out of the spotlight to try and get things cleared up. He is offered a safe haven in his hometown of North Carolina with his best friend, Aaron. To Matt's surprise, Aaron's sister, Vivienne, moves into the guest house on the property. A week later, Aaron leaves for Europe, leaving the two of them by themselves. I really liked Vivienne's character! She is a strong, independent woman that does not put up with any bull. She puts Matt in his place several times which is one of my favorite aspects of this book. Matt's character was super sexy and talented but at times he made me want to smack him with his self doubt/ self pitying. I would have liked to have felt a little more chemistry between the characters. The black curtain got thrown up more abruptly than I would have liked during some parts of the story. I do think this was a fun romance though! I am rating this book 4 stars because it was entertaining and fun. Also, I am rating it 4 stars because of how much I liked the heroine. I love female characters that aren't afraid to put the guys in their place. I will definitely read more of Samantha Chase's books in the future. |
Another Top of The Charts, Rock'n Romance for Samantha Chase. I loved this. Such an excellent story, full of personality and charm as well as self discovery, I couldn't get enough. I love a feisty woman who stands up for herself. One of my most favorite things is watching the heat and anger between characters because it explodes into electric chemistry. This was off the charts. But it was also warm, fun, playful and I could feel the want and need between these two. There was this passionate connection that created so much heat and love as well as respect. I loved Matty's self discovery and growth, and how Vivienne helped him, it made this story so realistic and added so much emotion and feelings to their story. It was also fantastic to see the progression of Riley and Savannah's relationship as they make a cameo appearance. This story Rocked! Fantastic characters that I fell in love with the more the story went on. Another winner for Samantha Chase! I highly recommend it! I really enjoyed this spin-off series of the shaughnessy series. It was fun to learn more about the band members from Riley's band. I liked the friendship to lovers story. Vivienne and Matt have known each other since they were kids, and it was fun to read about them finally realizing their feelings for each other. I looking forward to reading more in this series. |

So excited to read more about the Shaughnessy band. In this new series we get to find out what Matt Reed is up to while Riley is on his solo tour and the band is taking a break. I really fell in love with Matt's best friend, Aaron. I loved how he was always trying to be the peace maker with everybody. I hope we see him in another story soon. Vivienne Forrester is Aaron's little sister who finds her way back stage at Matt's last concert before the band's hiatus. They share a memorable kiss before the band manager kicks her out. Forward a few years to Matt needing to hide out after some bad reviews. He retreats to Aaron's home only to find Vivienne there giving him the cold shoulder. As he tries to win her over and have her try out her meals on him, remembers where he last saw her. As they spend more time together will he see her as more than Aaron's sister or will he be ready to leave town as soon as the press dies down. You won't be disappointed is the newest release by Samantha Chase. . |

Samantha Chase once again knocks it out of the park! Normally I do not care for rock-star romances. They are usually a little to much for me. One More Kiss however, I really enjoyed. The story of Matt and Vivienne is one I will reread. The characters are totally relatable. There is even a guest appearance of Riley and Savannah Shaughnessy! If you have enjoyed any of Ms. Chase's other books, you will enjoy this one too! |
The Band Shaughnessy has taken a break. They have all set out to do their own thing. Matt Reed or "Matty" as his fans refer to him as, set out to do a broadway show. Well the show flopped, and with the media being brutal towards him his manager told him to lay low. When his best friend Aaron offers for him to hangout at his house for a while, it comes at the perfect time. Vivienne Forrester is a very organized women, who works for an online magazine as a food blogger. She also happens to be Aaron's little sister. She could care less if she ever sees Matt Reed again, especially after what happened two years prior. Once they meet up again things do not start out well at all and Matt can not figure out why. This was a great story. I love finding out more about Riley Shaughnessy's fellow band members. I found myself really feeling bad for Matt and rooting for him to have a happy ending. I was very glad to have a Rock Star book that was not erotica, a genre I tend to stay away from. An added bonus is that you get to see a bit more of Riley and Savanna. I am excited read about the rest of the band members, to see where their journey's will lead to! |
A fun spin-off from Samantha Chase’s The Shaughnessy Brothers series finds us catching up with Riley Shaughnessy again as we get his friend and bandmates, Matt Reed’s story! I loved the characters and found it fun to see some of the behind the scenes action of their band. I look forward to more to come! Matt Reed never expected to step foot back in his hometown voluntarily. He had a rough childhood, and left on the heals of the biggest blowout he’d ever been involved with and didn’t look back. Current circumstances have him searching for somewhere to lay low for awhile, and his best friend invites him to hide out at his place, so here he is! Vivienne Forrester can’t believe her brother doesn’t give her a heads up that Matt is going to be staying with him. She’s mortified that her reckless night a couple of years ago is going to come back to bite her, but even more blown away when he looks at her as if he hasn’t seen her since they were kids. Unbelievable! |
I don't think I have the words to describe how wonderful this book is. Fantastic characters and a story that you immediately get engrossed in. This is going to be one of my top 10 reads of the year |

DNF @ 20% What is Viv’s problem? Her reaction to Matt was ridiculously over the top and she was so mean. Her brother calls her the Queen of Compassion, but I couldn’t see it and frankly, I just didn’t like her. Whatever her feelings towards Matt, it’s not much of a stretch to understand why his Broadway show tanking might have hurt a bit. She’s so prickly and nasty without much cause. As for Matt… meh, he didn’t make much of an impression on me either. I found the stuff about the band potentially interesting, but when it came down to it, my feelings about Viv and my lack of interest in Matt made me realise I had neither the interest nor the patience to see how everything turned out. Guess I’m just too grumpy right now for this nonsense. Sorry, but this one didn’t work for me. |
One More Kiss (Band On the Run book 1) by Samantha Chase Romance and True love at it's best... Samantha Chase did it again. She brought a book that was just perfectly written. Masterfully written. I found myself not wanting the book to end. Her writing style is perfect. In every book, her character's are realistic and so are their struggles. I found myself loving this book. I also found myself able to relate to the characters. I found myself wanting to know Matt and Vivienne and by the end of the story, I felt that I truly knew Matt and Vivienne. Vivienne Forrester is a blogger and a bit of OCD. Matt Reed is a rock star and the lead guitarist of the band Shaughnessy. Matt is on a hiatus after a bad Broadway experience and bad publicity. Vivienne and Matt know each other through Vivienne's older brother Aaron who is Matt's best friend. The struggles that Matt and Vivienne each go through individually is so realistic. Matt and Vivienne prove that opposites do attract. Samantha Chase did a marvelous job introducing us to the world of musicians. Samantha shows her readers that being famous isn't always perfect. Even the rich and famous have real struggles. This story was eloquently written and had great charm. I instantly fell in love with the story and found myself laughing and getting swept away by the romance and passion. One More Kiss has a marvelous plot and is a realistic dialogue and is just a great contemporary romance. I highly recommend this book. Samantha Chase knows how to tell a story and her writing leaves you wanting more. I received this ARC copy from SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca in exchange for an honest review. This book is set for publication Feb. 7, 2016. |
One More Kiss by Samantha Chase......Another fantastic story it is sweet, refreshing with beautiful characters, which is what you grow to expect from Samantha Chase. Matt and Vivienne have known each other since childhood, Matt was Vivienne's older brother Aaron's best friend. These two have baggage in their pasts, but blossom into something special, will it work out for them you will need to read it. It was awesome watching this story unfold for these two. I highly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book from publisher via NetGalley. |
Favorite Quotes: I think if we ignore that night, that kiss, then we’re both denying a part of who we are. I’ve had pedicures before, and I’ve had milk shakes. Just never at the same time. And it’s glorious. My Review: One More Kiss is a stand-alone adult romance that kicks off a new series with familiar characters we already know and have grown to love from Ms. Chase’s last series - double win. The plot felt a bit slow to develop as the majority of the third person narrative consists of the inner musings of the main protagonists as they tackle and work through their personal issues and inner turmoil while their surprise relationship slowly blooms. And their issues were rather large and looming. Matt was a burned out celebrity currently in career crisis and hiding out from the media. His identity and ego were trashed and thrashed and he was a total mess - inside and out. Matt was my favorite character in this story; his family history and personal evolution squeezed my heart. Vivienne was a tightly regimented and well-organized control freak with major OCD tendencies. She was restructuring her job while also changing residences and moving into her brother’s guesthouse. Vivienne was an extremely lucky girl; I was consumed with jealousy as she lived in a new upscale home with every possible convenience, paid no rent, had a handsome and sexy rock-star for a neighbor, and worked from home. I am chartreuse with envy! |
An okay read. Not as good as I expected but thanks for the opportunity to read. |
In This Is Our Song, Riley Shaughnessy struggled to find his own place as an individual musician while his band mates go their own successful way. Get ready to see the story from the other side as we meet Matty Reed and get a glimpse at what is really happening with the rest of the band. Matt Reed left the band to explore a role on Broadway. Unfortunately far being the success he imagined he would be he turns out to be a huge flop and the show folds only a couple days after opening. Being a slow day for the press they attack Matt and the rest of the band implying all kinds of horrible things. Matty is ashamed and wants to hide away out of the limelight. Having burned most of his friendships, he ends up in the last place he wants to be with the one true friend he still has. His sanctuary does come with one nice surprise. A small cottage on the property and his best friend's not so friendly beautiful sister Vivienne. Vivienne has always had a case of hero worship for Matt that was brutally dashed when she's escorted forcefully from the backstage of one of concerts by security. She's grateful that Matt has no recollection of the incident or her embarrassment even as he makes friendly overtures. She's a food blogger and Matt doesn't know how to boil water successfully so he figures a way out of instant microwaveable meals into her gourmet kitchen. Soon they're flirting over food and wine and can't resist tumbling right into bed as well. Even as they are falling in lust and enjoying their time together it will all end when Matt goes back to the band and tour. Vivienne is a home body who loves her home and where she lives. Matt has vowed through all his childhood trauma never to live here. Can they find a way to work it all out and find a happily ever after? Riley and Savannah are great secondary characters in this story as are some of the other Shaughnessy's. All in all a great contemporary romance very much in line with what we've come to expect from Ms. Chase. |
Such an amazing new read from Samantha Chase! The start of a spin-off series to Chase's Shaunessy's, One More Kiss was a fabulous beginning. Vivienne and Matt had wonderful chemistry and it's always fun to see the party guy rock star fall! Laugh out loud moments and hot moments and sweet moments and heavy moments... This one had it all! Can't wait for the next one! |
Rock Star Matt Reed is hiding out from the paparazzi due to the failure of his recent attempt to do a Broadway show. Vivienne, his childhood friend's little sister isn't so little anymore. She's a beautiful food blogger who he falls for in this sweet fun sexy romance. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series! |

Wow Samantha Chase has done it again this time with a new series that is a runoff from her Shaughnessy Brothers series mainly Riley - the brother who has the Shaughnessy band, This book One More Kiss takes place when one of the band members decides to take some time and go into his own solo career. However things don't always work out as people would like and he finds himself second guessing himself. Can't wait for the other members to have their stories and have in this past year become a Samantha Chase super fan. |
My very first Samantha Chase book and I'm already in love! All the #feels people. Every one. I was stunned at how emotional the story was. And not that it was sad or angsty, it just made my heart smile ... a lot. Matt and Vivienne know each other thru Matt's best friend who happens to be Vivienne's brother. There is nothing like the best friend sister/brother's best friend trope. It's always amusing to me because I can't understand the hoopla. But that's why it's fiction, eh. :) I've read this story line a million times, but this one felt fresh. It was Matt and Vivienne's individual growth throughout the story that made it fresh. They both had baggage to get thru to move on in life. And they were both exactly what each other needed with that baggage as well. Kismet :) This is a high ranking **happy sigh** book that shouldn't be missed. It will make you feel good no matter what's going on in your life :) Copy provided by the author for early review |

What a great read! I love band books. Rocker dudes are my favorite book boyfriends. I loved the gradual get to know you phase between Matt and Viv. It was slow and stead then got oh so hot. The flower shop scene gave me chills in such a good way, love how that went down! I hope to see more of these characters as the series progresses. |
