This was all connected, though she hadn't
quite figured out how.
The details were too vague, the evidence not adding up
to any specific conclusion.

This quote effectively describes the investigation for most of the book. They had circumstantial evidence but no direct evidence and were unable to figure out the killer's motives. However, no matter how many circles the characters seemed to have run in the book, I still found myself immersed in the book.

In The Devil's Daughter, there is a killer on the loose in Clear Springs and he has already claimed his first victim. Another girl has been abducted and it is Sheriff Zach Owens' job to track down this killer before he strikes again. Enter Eden Collins, an FBI agent who is back in her hometown due to some pictures of the investigation that were leaked to her. But that isn't all there is to her. Eden is actually the daughter of the local cult leader and she has seen something in the pictures that made her believe her mother's cult has something to do with the killer.

This was a character-driven book. My curiosity towards the mystery wasn't as strong as my attachment towards the characters. I only liked the mystery because of how hopeless it seemed but other than that, there wasn't much that intrigued me. However, adding in the in-depth exploration of the character's feelings—Zach's guilt for not being to find the killer sooner, Eden feeling oppressed due to the pressure her mother applies on her—and you have a story that's much more human.

Zach and Eden's relationship wasn't all smooth-sailing. He certainly didn't welcome her with open arms and tell her, “yo welcome to the club. today's activities include: catching a highly elusive killer. also, the more the merrier, ya know.” Instead, there was distrust. The fact that the local cult leader is Eden's mother was more than enough to invoke prejudice from any of the townspeople. It was also more than enough to make her an easy suspect for the case. However, after a background check and several meet-ups between the two, they gradually started to find comfort in each other.

The cult, Elysia, isn't your run-of-the-mill “hail Satan” cult. It is distant, secretive, and it hides in broad daylight. It is a force people avoid head-butting with, not because it is a cult, but rather because of the person who leads it.

This is truly an unputtable down book which you will find yourself loving either the mystery, characters or both.

What a way to start a brand new series. Katee Robert’s has certainly kicked the winning goal with this latest novel/series.

As soon as I started, I was hooked and certainly didn’t want to stop until I finished. Katee has delivered a romantic suspense novel, which will keep you guessing who the key people involved are till the very end.

Eden Collins has returned to her hometown of Clear Springs, which she swore she would never do. She was determined to leave behind her mother (Martha), who is the cult leader for Elysia, before joining the FBI. Against her will, she has been lured back to assist in finding the murder, where the victims have markings the same as she does. Eden has to deal with her past, to find the answers and her future. Eden is an intelligent, strong and sassy women, who absolutely adored.

Zach Owens is the sheriff of Clear Springs. Zach is a former marine who has returned home and is happy to settle in a small town to get away from the nightmares of the desert. Zach knows he will need the assistance of Eden to solve this case, but what he doesn’t expect is the feel the hot attraction between them. Zach is a hot alpha male, who will stop at nothing to protect the people he cares about and solve this case.

Even know I have finished this awesome read, I am already planning to devour this book again.
Did I mention this book is fantastic and I absolutely loved it! Katee has delivered the perfect mixture of suspense and romance and there was nothing I didn’t like. Katee Robert’s has given me another book to fall in love with and I have for sure. You definitely don’t want to miss this one.

Growing up in a small town isn’t easy, especially when you’re the daughter of a local cult leader. Ten years ago, Eden Collins left Clear Springs, Montana, and never once looked back. But when the bodies of murdered young women surface, their corpses violated and marked with tattoos worn by her mother’s followers, Eden, now an FBI agent, can’t turn a blind eye. To catch the killer, she’s going to have to return to the fold.

Sheriff Zach Owens isn’t comfortable putting Eden in danger, even if she is an elite agent. And he certainly wasn’t expecting to be so attracted to her. As calm and cool as she appears, he knows this can’t be a happy homecoming. Zach wants to protect her—from her mother, the cult, and the evil that lurks behind its locked gates. But Eden is his only key to the tight-lipped group, and she may just be closer to the killer than either one of them suspects…

I would put this at the top of the books I've read so far in 2017. It starts off slow for me but then it gets going and I really enjoyed it. I read about 9 books this weekend and this by far was the top 5. I love Zach. He had protector written all over him. He's not backing down and he's not giving up. I love heroes who are just that. They aren't wishy washy and they just have masculine feel to them. I loved his stubborness. I love suspense and mystery and this book had it. Did I know who it was from the beginning? Not right away. Did I have an inkling of who it could be? Yes I did. However, a good mystery is one that takes you in multiple directions and I like that. It takes you down many roads and it tells many stories. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a romantic suspense novel.

I was given a copy of this ARC from the publisher on Netgalley for a honest review. All of the above comments are my express opinions and no one else's.

A Dramatic Serial Killer Crime Novel with a delicious side of Romance. Katee Robert surprised me with "The Devil's Daughter". I was anticipating a romance in same vein as her Irish Mafia books, but this is a Thriller first and foremost. The Hero and Heroine do have a tremendous amount of chemistry and they are extremely intriguing. I would most definitely would love to see more of them in the future. Eden Collins, is a FBI agent who's the daughter of a leader of a cult based in Clear Springs, Montana. She fled when she turned eighteen. The Hero, Zack Owens, is the Sheriff of Clear Springs. It's his home town and he returned after serving his tour in the desert as a marine. Zach is an alpha hero and a white knight. These citizens are his people, his responsibility, and he's protective. This couple's sexual electricity simply crackles.
Eden and Zach both grew up in Clear Springs but never met. That may have to do with Eden living in Elysia, the cult, and their slight age difference. Despite the fact Eden is now a FBI agent the citizens of Clear Springs still distrust her. Zach doesn't trust Eden for the first couple of days even though she intrigues him. They have a magnetic pull and Zach, in particular, quickly becomes protective of her. Eden is a tough and competent federal agent but she's in a high stress situation that makes her rather vulnerable. Zach is a by-the-books cop who wants his cases closed air tight. He's a sheriff in a small town where his father was the sheriff. He's learned to temper toeing-the-line with sometimes turning a blind eye for the greater good. He's a caretaker and protector of his town and is very possessive.
Katee Robert has broken into a new genre with this Romantic Thriller. The emphasis is definitely on Thriller. There are a couple of yowza sex scenes but not the typical Katee Robert volume. That being said, the amount fits the story perfectly. There aren't "gratuitous" sex scenes. The violence is barely seen, it's mainly portrayed in the victim's Point of View. Their fear. It's also told in the medical examiner's reports. The Hero and Heroine grow emotionally toward a romantic relationship rather than a mere fling or venting of steam. The stress level is high from the get go, which isn't conducive for a romantic relationship. They appreciate each other physically but their relationship doesn't become physical until late in the novel. The story line is compelling and the pace isn't too breakneck. This is the first book in the Hidden Sins series and I'm curious about upcoming installments.

4 Wine Glass #Review of The Devil's Daughter by Katee Robert
Crystal's Thoughts:
Katee Robert's foray into the thrilling world of mystery and suspense with The Devil's Daughter is a fiendishly good, unforgettable read!

Eden Collins grew up under her mother Martha, who led Elysia, a religious cult in Clear Springs, Montana. Disgusted by the cult's practice's and devastated by the acts that were performed on her at the hands of her own mother, Eden escaped as soon as she was able and never looked back. Until someone sent her a picture of a young woman, baring an uncanny resemblance to her, murdered in her home town. Eden knows that her mother is somehow involved, and as an F.B.I. Behavioral Analyst Agent, she sees it as her job to take down the killer. Even if it means taking down her own mother...
Zach Owens returned from the desert to his peaceful home town picking up the reigns of sheriff, hoping to escape the nightmare of war. When a body of a local girl is found with marks of a ritualistic death though, Zach knows that his peaceful existence has come to an end. With one girl dead, and another missing, the clock is ticking before a second body inevitably turns ups. The only way to catch the killer though, is to put Eden at risk. He might not trust her, but that doesn't stop him from wanting her. Can Eden and Zach unravel this mystery before the killer sets his sights on someone else, maybe someone he has been targeting all along?

The Devil's Daughter was a spine-tingling thriller that held me captivated with each new page, and guessing 'till the end! With the controversial subject matter of religious cults, Robert delves deep into the perturbing and oft-times inconceivable rules and rituals of one in the fictional town of Clear Springs, Montana...which, eerily, could be any small town across the country. Elysia's followers worship Persephone, and those stories of her that cult-leader Martha can use to her benefit. So there was an interesting mix Greek mythology that I wasn't expecting but added an intriguing facet. Especially as young women are found murdered in what appears to be one of the Elysia's Persephone rituals.

Robert has never been afraid to sprinkle her stories with a good dose of darkness, but The Devil's Daughter is dark, gritty, and realistic in ways that her other contemporary romance novels are not. The pulse-pounding intrigue that you will find in her latest literary work of art, will keep you on the edge of your seat. I have to admit that one of my guilty pleasures is watching documentaries on cult's and cult-like religions; and Eden's upbringing, Elysia's beliefs, and the fanatical way that Martha's followers worship her and her words in The Devil's Daughter fascinated me as much as those documentaries do. The plot was well paced, full of twists and turns. Towards the end, I thought that I had a good guess on who the villains of the story were...but I ended up being only half-right! The big reveal was quite a surprise!

This is Katee Robert we're talking about, so you can bet your favorite bookmark that there will be some toe-curling romance in the story. From the start there is sizzling tension between tough-talking Eden Collins and straight-shooting Zach Owens. Eden escaped her mother's cult as soon as she could but has been drawn back against her will my a mysterious messenger. For Zach, the town's sheriff, her timely arrival is too coincidental for him to trust her but he can't deny the fact that he needs help in this case. Zach has demons of his own though from his time in the military, and he refuses to let anyone else die on his watch. When it seems that the killer is circling Eden, her and Zach are thrown in even closer confines and that sexual tensity finally snaps! Robert perfectly balances the suspense and sensuality.

My only complaint is, I would have liked the main character's backgrounds expanded on more so that I could have gotten a better feel for them. Especially Zach, I just felt like there was an element to his character that was still missing by the end. However, this is coming from the romantic inside of me who needs to delve deep into each character, and I think if the author would have done this, it might have unbalanced the story. Bottom line; The Devil's Daughter was a scintillating thriller that kept me turning the pages. I'm looking forward to more from the Hidden Sins series in the future. If you like a good mystery with a dark edge that quite possible will keep you up at night, and a healthy dose of swoony romance, then I recommend you picking up this tale today!

Eden is the daughter of a cult leader in Clear Springs. Her mother, Martha, has a loyal group of followers, but Eden isn't one of them. After what she went through as a child at Elysia in the name of her mother's beliefs she left town as soon as she was able to and never came back. Eden works for the FBI and when a teenage girl from her hometown is murdered and another one is missing she has no choice but to offer her assistance.

Eden isn't officially working for the FBI on this case, so she has to help Zach, the local sheriff, as a civilian. She's the only one who has access to Elysia. Zach knows Eden has to spend time at the place of her childhood terrors to gather information, but he isn't happy with the arrangement. However, it seems they have no choice if they want to solve the murder before there will be more victims. Will they be able to stop the evil that seems to be coming from Elysia?

The Devil's Daughter is an impressive story. Eden's mother is the leader of Elysia, which is a cult with plenty of loyal followers. Many teenagers are curious and visit the cult at least once, so it isn't a surprise that there's a link between what's happening and Elysia. Martha has power in spades and Eden is still afraid of her mother and what she can do. I immediately found that intriguing. The relationship between mother and daughter is tense and from Eden's side it's full with loathing. Katee Robert skillfully uses those feelings to paint a clear picture of both the cult and its leader. Martha surrounds herself with strong and ruthless men. She uses them as a shield and it's nearly impossible to discover any of her secrets. She has the cult under her thumb and rules it effortlessly. Eden doesn't stop trying to infiltrate into her mother's world while being adamant she doesn't want to be a part of it. She is a noble woman and she willingly puts herself at risk over and over again to save the lives of others. The scenes about the cult kept me on the edge of my seat, it's a terrible place and a great setting for a creepy story.

Katee Robert's writing flows easily. Her detailed descriptions gripped me from the start and I read The Devil's Daughter in one sitting. It's a compelling story that I couldn't put down. There are many surprising twists and turns and the ending is fitting and just as twisted as the rest of the story. There's a little romance and there are a lot of frightening events, which is exactly the way I like a scary mysterious story to be. The Devil's Daughter is a fantastic terrifying story.

OK!

SO!

You know how.....

Nope, no, not right at all!! Deep breath, and lets try that again, shall we??

You know how, sometimes, when you are reading a book, thoroughly enjoying said book, you got it all worked out?? You picked up the clues, and put the whodunnit together waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before it was revealed in the book??

And then.....AND THEN!!!

THEN you get to 91%, about 20 minutes left in the book and you got it so very VERY wrong!!! I mean, I was really REALLY sure whodunnit, and I was waiting to see how Eden managed to get away, and then....AND THEN!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I can't word this right!! I was way off base, totally shocked by that revelation, and I did NOT see that coming.

I freaking loved that!!! I loved that even Eden did not see that one coming!

I'm sorry. Its taken me three days to come down enough to write this review and its not really making any sense but I really cannot word how much I LOVED this book!

It's dark, its so very deadly, and devious. It has love too, for Eden and Zach, Sheriff in Clear Springs where Eden's mother has her cult. Where the girls are going missing from. Where Eden has to return to.

This is the first book of Katee Robert's I've read. I hope it's not the last. This book is billed as Hidden Sins #1. I so really REALLY need to read the next one!

Because it took me three days to write this, because I screeched at work (where I was reading when I got to THAT bit) because...because...because....

5 stars.

(I am sorry this review isn't up to my usual standards, but I really did struggle to word how I felt other than I FREAKING LOVED IT!!!)

**same worded review will appear on Goodreads, Booklikes, Netgalley, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com, Kobo and Barnes and Noble**

***5 ‘Well played’ Stars***

The cult aspect was the initial draw and then when one adds in murder and the whole prodigal child coming home thing it really wasn’t a surprise that I wanted to get my hands on this one, that and the fact that I enjoy Katee Robert’s writing, and what a hell of a ride. I spent the mass majority of the book on edge, wondering when the unsub would strike all while loving and being absolutely fascinated by Eden and Zach and the cast of characters that populate this book, even the more unsettling ones.

Eden is that rare mix of fragility and strength that just draws you in. The scars from growing up as the daughter/heir apparent of a cult leader are numerous and they are deep. So deep that even a decade later they still affect her. But the strength, the desire, that she has to not allow her past to take over her life is something to see. Does she stumble? Yes. Is her life picture perfect? No. But her determination to break those chains has propelled her on a path of catching and putting away those who do harm to others.

Zach has lived through hell and now only wants to live a small town life similar to that of the Andy Griffith show where the most exciting thing he has to deal with are teenagers trespassing on a grumpy old man’s land to have a bonfire. In a lot of ways Zach is that good ‘ole boy, and at one point I likened him to John Wayne because he is that good of a guy. He cares about everyone and wants to follow the rules, but also wants to see justice done which means at times rules need to be bent, just a little.

After meeting Eden and Zach and seeing what they were up against with the murder I couldn’t but wonder how the romance side of this romantic suspense would work and I loved what Ms. Robert did with their relationship. She kept it realistic based on not only what they were dealing with, but who they both are at their cores and where they are at in their respective lives. There is a connection between them, like recognizes like, and that grows into a physical attraction and then some. There will be those that probably wish the road they travel and where they end up was different, but looking at the big picture and all that happens in the book, I personally love it because it fits.

Now for the murder mystery and cult. As I said in the beginning I was seriously on edge the entire time I was reading. I kept expecting the boogie man aka the murder to pop up all over the damn place, which is a huge compliment to Ms. Roberts because she did an amazing job at setting the mood of the story. And then there is the cult. I do love a character who’s ego and talent at manipulation are out of this world and Eden’s mother is all that and a bag of chips. And the premise of the cult? Brilliant. I love how the mythology used as its core was manipulated and made a reality. As for the murder mystery. I loved the twists and turns, I made a few guesses along the way (at the end I was 50% right) and had to fight the urge to cheat and skip to the last few chapters to see if I was right (I won the fight and didn’t cheat) and can I say that I did not see that coming! Everything was well thought out and I loved how all the pieces came together in the end.

To say I thoroughly enjoyed The Devil’s Daughter is probably redundant, but I did and can’t wait to see where Ms. Robert will be taking us with the next book!

Ya'll know I will read anything Katee Robert writes. She can write some awesomely dirty and hot heroes. She makes you love the crap out of her characters. Guess what?! her romantic suspense writing is just as engaging!!! I couldn't stop turning the pages! I thought I had it figured out, but was surprised at the end. Eden and Zach were great together!!

I'm a fan of Katee Roberts erotica/romance books so I was really interested in seeing how she would go at doing the harder genre of romantic suspense. And I wasn't disappointed. This was a great read. The plot was intriguing, the characters were well developed and the writing was exceptional. If you love romantic suspense novels, give this new series a go.

Mystery suspense is my fav genre, toss in a little romance and I'm in hog heaven. Since my early days of reading Nancy Drew, I've always enjoyed a good the murder mystery. With the addition of a possible cult, Greek mythology and FBI's BAU unit, it ranked right up there with the best of Criminal Minds. Robert keeps you guessing right up until the end as to the WHO but in thinking back she left enough breadcrumbs to give you a hint but not enough to spoil the ending.
Eden and Zach were characters that you could pull for and even though there wasn't a lot of info on their backgrounds, you felt like you knew them. I can't imagine how anyone growing up in this cult mentality and brutality could ever learn to totally trust another human being but hope that Eden and Zach's romance continues to grow and flourish in the upcoming books in this series.
This is so unlike other books I've read by Robert but she did a heck of a job and look forward to more in this genre. She definitely has me as a follower.

WOW! If you enjoy romantic suspense, look no further, this story epitomises the best of the genre. It is a fast paced, action packed story with characters it is easy to relate to and enough twists and turns to keep you guessing till the dramatic conclusion and is complete with a side serving of romance!

Eden Collins escaped from Clear Springs, Montana a decade ago, becoming an FBI agent. Her mother, Martha, is the somewhat charismatic leader of a cult, loosely based on the story of Demeter and Persephone, established near the township. Eden never intended to return but was sent a photograph of a young lady who had been murdered and the victim has cult tattoos that she recognises. Local Sheriff, Zach Owens, isn't quite sure what to make of Eden's unexpected return, the timing and how she obtained the victim's photograph. However, he also knows that it will be difficult for him or any other law enforcement agent to gain admittance to the cult personnel or grounds - and Eden could be his way in, if he can trust her.

Exploring aspects of the control and manipulation of followers, the insular nature of cults and difficulties when things start to go wrong, this is an enthralling, thrilling read that I just didn't want to put down. The back history of key characters is explored, the dialogue brings them to life and you can really feel the drama and angst. With a serial killer on the loose and suggestions that Eden is their planned ultimate victim, this is a real roller-coaster ride, one that you don't want to get off until the perpetrator(s) have been stopped! I loved this and have no hesitation in highly recommending it to other people who enjoy suspense filled romantic reads!

I was gifted a copy of this novel via NetGalley and this is my honest review after reading it.

5 Suspenseful Stars!!!

I have been reading Ms. Robert's work from the very beginning and I always know that I'm in for a great story no matter what the genre of the book. And The Devil's Daughter is another prime example of what a phenomenal author she is! This book isn't like any of her other books in that it is a true thriller from beginning to end throwing in a steamy sizzling romance between our H/h Zach and Eden and it's like the trifecta of winning!!!

When Eden has to return home to expose the cult that her mother is a leader of because women's dead bodies keep showing up with the same tattoos that she herself was marked with I just knew that this was going to be a wild ride. This is of course due to the way Ms. Roberts weaved an amazing story.

As I turned each page I was more and more invested in this book and finding out the who's and the why's. I mean there's some really crazy stuff going on in this world that Eden used to live in... the only difference this time is that Sheriff Zach Owens is there and together they're going to solve this mystery and potentially find their own HEA.

This story kept me present and accounted for throughout the entire book. The pace and story development moved at the exact rate it should have. There was no rushing around or over the top scenes. All the actions and reactions of the characters fell right in line for the way this story was crafted. I'm so glad we have another genre to read from this amazing author and I for one will be first in line for the next book in this series!

4.5*

THE DEVIL’S DAUGHTER is my first Katee Robert book-- and if she keeps writing romantic suspense (her backlist is all contemporary romance), it definitely won’t be my last! For a newbie RS author, Ms. Robert delivers a well-written, gripping page-turner with three-dimensional characters that are equal parts terrifyingly disturbing (the villains and antagonists at Elysia) and engaging survivors (protagonists Eden and Zach). Centering the story around a reclusive cult predicated on the Greek myth of Demeter (embodied by iron-willed and power-hungry matriarch Martha Collins) and Persephone (personified by Martha’s reluctant prodigal daughter, FBI Behavioural Analysis Unit Agent Eden Collins) is genius, as it immediately lends THE DEVIL’S DAUGHTER an inherent layer of deception and secrecy that draws the reader in from the outset. Ms. Robert drops you in the thick of the action from the first page and doesn’t lift the foot off the accelerator until the very end as she whisks you through a series of intense twists and turns you will not see coming, all while building the romance between Eden and Zach.

Overall, a tautly-paced, suspenseful, and intricate murder mystery sure to keep you on your toes and at the edge of your seat. Looking forward to the next entry in the Hidden Sins series, and what else Ms. Robert brings to the RS table!

Eden Collins was fortunate enough to escape her mother's cult and go on to become a great profiler with the FBI. But when she receives an emailed picture of a girl found murdered in what is clearly a ritualistic fashion, she's forced to go home again to Clear Springs, while trying not to be sucked back into the life she tried so hard to escape.

Clear Springs Sheriff Zach Owens has enough on his plate trying to find a murderer. The last thing he needs is the daughter of a cult leader / suspect on his doorstep trying to tell him what to do. But one look at Eden lets Zach know that she's no more involved in this than he is. And it's taken a hell of a lot of courage for her to come back after ten years considering everything she went through. But soon evidence points to the fact that maybe the reason why Eden was pulled back was because she's exactly where the killer wants her to be. They'll need to figure this mystery out before it's too late.

Right away I really loved the whole mystery / creepy cult storyline. The way everything twists and turns, truly implicated everyone. I kinda wish it was a bit more eerie and twisting though because I was pretty sure I knew the murderer before the end, but even when that theory was thrown for a slight loop (because I wasn't completely wrong in my assumptions), I still wasn't shocked by who the killer turned out to be. I would have loved to be completely blindsided. But regardless, the mystery and figuring out who was behind the killings really drove me to keep reading.

Now, the romance aspect was a little harder for me to swallow. The insta-love that happens just didn't work for me. For all that I liked both Zach and Eden, and I liked them together, the quick way Zach turns around and decides he's actually attracted to Eden, as opposed to considering her a possible suspect, just happened too quickly for me. I would have liked a little more build-up first.

I thought that Katee Robert did a great job is representing the struggle Eden is going through by returning to Clear Springs. Easy to see how difficult being back in her hometown, back to a place with such bad memories for her. Eden's character kind of straddles the line between being a badass FBI agent and a woman going through an emotional crisis. We're told that Eden is good at her job, and for all intents and purposes I believe this statement, but when it comes to being objective toward the cult that raised her, you can definitely see she has a tough time with that, but she's still able to pull out the fight when needed. And that's what Katee Robert wrote so well. She didn't make Eden infallible, she made her human.

By that extension, Eden's mother, and cult leader, Martha Collins is quite the character as well. The ulterior motives and the secrets beneath the surface weren't so simple to pick out that she became this caricature. Instead you really want to believe that she loves Eden as her daughter and not as some kind of symbol, but then you second guess yourself about her. She's definitely one you don't want to turn your back on, or get on their bad side because you're never quite sure what she'll do or how far her sinister reaches. Another great, yet subtle characterization.

I'm not sure if there is a plan for this or if this one is truly just a standalone. Overall, I enjoyed the story. I wouldn't be upset to read more books featuring Eden as I think there's still a lot of growth her character could go through.

FBI Agent Eden Collins never expected to return to the home she escaped years ago - the small town of Clear Springs and Elysia, a cult led by her mother Martha Collins. Eden still has nightmares of growing up under the power and control of a cult that did not provide the simple, happy life it promised. Eden knows the evil secrets concealed behind those walls all too well as she still bears the ritualistic cult tattoos upon her skin and still remembers how they were forced on her as she struggled screaming. Now Eden's been lured back to Elysia by an emailed picture of a dead girl bearing an eery resemblance to her - one bearing the same tattoos on her tortured skin. Who sent her the picture? What do they want from her? Will she survive a trip back inside those walls?

Sheriff Zach Owens, former Marine, accepted a job in Clear Springs trying to escape his own nightmares in a small town where nothing ever happens. And now, he's suddenly faced with the task of hunting down a serial killer. His gut says it's all tied to the cult . . . it also tells him to be wary of the cult leader's daughter Eden who mysteriously showed back up in town just after the first murder - the same daughter he's strangely attracted to. Can he trust her? Is he willing to risk her life to stop a killer?

The Devil's Daughter is a chilling read with twists and turns that kept me turning the pages well into the night. The Greek myth of Demeter and Persephone plays out during the story as the cult beliefs are woven around a version of the myth . . . one that includes Eden playing the part of Persephone. Intriguing characters, smoke screens, and chilling stop-your-heart moments keep the suspense high as this story plays out. I had formed an idea of who was or more accurately who wasn't involved in the killings, but I in no way saw the shocking conclusion before hand. The Devil's Daughter is a gritty, well-written mystery suspense and a great start to this series. A Must Read!

The Devil's Daughter was a very suspenseful read that had me guessing throughout the book. I love it when the author spins a very intricate story and has me on the edge of my seat. What I enjoyed most about this book was the setting of the story. I am a huge fan of books that focus on cults, because they are forbidden and mysterious and add something extra to the story. I was constantly trying to figure out what role the cult members were playing in the killings. I was just like the main characters, Zach and Eden, trying to solve the case. Everyone had a motive but who is actually doing the killing?

I had many theories and suspects in mind and the author did a great job at derailing me and surprising me at the end. I enjoyed the chemistry between Zach and Eden and how well they worked together to find out who was behind these horrible crimes. Eden is a strong woman who had been through a lot in her past, her mother being the cult leader had done a real number on her. Zach as well had gone through traumatic events in his past. They were two broken people who sought comfort in each other. The murder investigation was very intriguing and mysterious.

The Devil's Daughter was a great suspenseful romance book. I especially loved the setting and seeing as this is the first book in the Hidden Sins series, I hope the next book will focus on the cult as well. The only thing that I didn't like as much was the ending of this book. It had an open ending on the romance front. As a huge lover of HEA, I really enjoy an epilogue. But hey I can't always get what I want. Definitely pick this book up if you love mysterious romantic suspense novels.

Edge of your seat suspense story. My first from Katee Robert, but not my last. One of my favorite reads this year :)

The first thing I have to say about The Devil's Daughter is that I FLOVED IT....

It's so different from Katee's other book but in a really good way. I honestly wasn't expecting to be drawn into the story as much as I was!!!

Excellent read. Thought I knew who the killer was gonna be but was a little off the mark!

I'm giving this fab book 5 devilish stars!!!
