Cute, but probably more of a. 2.5 stars. Had that fun cowboy vibe with a very protective male and and a heroine who starts to understand her own strength. There were some parts that dragged and then some parts felt rushed. Some of that might have been due to the 'a few weeks passed' that the author would throw in, but some of it just felt disjointed and the only thing that was marking the passage of time was her gaining weight.

This romance reminded me of a simpler time in reading and I adored it just for that!

Emma Frank is a recent divorcee; after 7 years of hellish marriage that ended with her in hospital and her husband in jail. Yet, her brothers-in-law still do not leave her alone. It is just that surviving hell hasn’t actually made her stronger – or so she believes.

Cash Walker is a charming ladies man – no, he is not a playboy, what he is, is a man with a smile that would melt any female’s *cough* heart *cough* within miles of him. He isn’t much for a commitment, mostly because he believes that his actions in the past aren’t what makes him worthy of anyone’s love let alone someone as sweet as Emma.

But he just can’t stay away from her neither can he stop the protective and possessive instincts that flare up for her.

Cash is in one word – yummy *sighs*. Not only is he an actual Cowboy, he is also sweet, patient and definitely amazing with kids, not to mention with skittish women. But most of all, I LOVED that he instinctively knew to be with Emma – and how to make her feel safe. Not many men do that, even if they are the Alpha Men they profess to be!

Emma on the other hand, is a sweet woman; sometimes a little too sweet for me, but it was amazing to see the transformation in her throughout the course of the story – it was not only worthy of respect but also admiration!

The chemistry between Emma and Cash was brilliantly heart-warming – not only because neither of them had known connection like this before, but because they actually did bring out the best in each other!

All in all, this was a sweet romance with hints of action and suspense that only made it a whole lot better! Definitely checking out the rest of the books in the series now :D

This is the third book in a series, and although characters from those books play a big part in this story, you don't have to read those before reading this one – it stands alone, but is added to by the characters from the previous stories.

Emma was timid and meek, and although Cash helps “save” her and keep her safe, she was never weak. She might have been in a bad situation with her former family-by-marriage, but watching her slowly build herself back up to become strong and stable was really awesome. And although this is a romance novel with a HEA, because she'd found her feet Emma didn't need to be with Cash, she wanted to be with him. Cash wasn't a perfect, flawless character, of course, and watching him try to deal with his own demons was both frustrating and great. Cash was a great guy, he just needed to realize it.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a gruff, tough cowboy and a bruised-but-not-broken heroine who relies on the help of her friends to become a strong, able woman. This book has both and they're written really well.

Two words-Cash Walker. Drop dead gorgeous, a panty melting smile and charm that runs for miles Cash is the ultimate cowboy. The unavailable ultimate cowboy. Cash carries his darkness from his past deep inside and deems himself off limits in love. Until the day Emma Frank drives up the driveway on the Tucked Away ranch. Emma is back living with her father after living a hellish marriage to an abusive man currently behind bars, yet she still can't escape and put the past behind her. Being bullied by his two brothers, she's lost two jobs, relocated back to live with her father and they still seek her out.
Cash and Emma meet when the resident goat of Tucked escapes and Emma drives him home. Staring down the fearsome bull blocking her way in the lane, unaware Cash is watching, Emma faces down the bull and the bull wanders off. Arriving with goat in tow, she meets Cash and Emma the timid surfaces, aware of her fear of just about everything, Cash helps Emma gain some confidence, finds her a job and now for the first time Emma has friends. Along with a cowboy who is totally smitten with her. What a treat to watch Cash fight his feelings for Emma, for the first time Cash wants more than he could have ever hoped to have in his life, but he fears his past. Growing up in an abusive home Cash knows the scars of abuse. That's what he recognizes in Emma when they first meet. She's now living at the ranch while her Dad is out of town and enjoying the company of friends she's never had, yet the threats from her ex's scumbag brothers still persist. Cash and Emma have incredible chemistry and I loved the secondary characters as well. Jennie has woven an exceptional story of love and redemption into one heck of a romance that I totally fell for. It's a story I'd read more than once and anyone who loves a powerful read softened with an unsinkable couple will love this story.
Absolutely loved this book!

The victim of an abusive husband, Emma finally manages to be free from him after he is jailed for attempted murder and she gets a divorce. Kept isolated by her husband their married live, Emma has little choice but to move in with her father in his small farm while she tries to find her feet – and a job. Returning a recalcitrant goat leads to her meeting Cash, the lead ranch hand of the adjacent farm.

An entertaining story of a dashing cowboy and a timid woman who steals his heart and raises all his protective instincts with her gentle nature and obvious insecurities. Constantly harassed by her exes 2 brothers, Emma finds friendship and protection with not only Cash but his close friends. I would have preferred a little less sex (somewhat unnecessary in my opinion) but the overall story was satisfactory.

I really enjoyed this book, am new to this author so hadn’t read the previous 2 books in the series, but it don’t feel as if it impacted my enjoyment of the book. I loved Emma, my heart broke for her when we learn what’s she been through and it was amazing to see her become stronger and more confident. I adored Cash, he had this swagger and lightness to him, but underneath was hidden a pain and fear he’s had since he was a boy. The story moved at a good pace and I enjoyed watching them grow together and take a chance on love 💕

Well worth a read and will definitely read more from this author

Though I had not read the previous books of this series, once I saw it was written by Ms. Marts, I did not hesitate to grab it.
Once again, this talented author gives us characters and real life situations that are not only heart breaking , but also thought provoking.
In this case , We get Emma Frank and Cash Walker.
Emma has just divorced her abusive husband and is back in Broken Falls. Cash is a tough cowboy on the outside, and a marshmallow on the inside. But he is also a man that hides his past.
It’s a story that deals with domestic abuse and bullying . But it also presents hope , and the possibility of finding happiness and love with the right person, once you open your hearts.
Once again the author gives us a well written and engaging story with complex characters .
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Entangled Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Emma Franks got her divorce from an abusive husband, but now her ex-brother in-laws won’t leave her alone. Enter Cash Walker who has taken a liking to her. Emma does not see herself as pretty or as a catch. The years of abuse has drained her of any self-esteem she once had. Cash, on the other hand, is attracted to her and also wants to help her move on from her ex and the brothers in law. Emma is the first person to get in touch with the real Cash and though there are many women who want to only Emma can break through Cash’s tough side. Now, will each of them let the other one help so they can move on and become a couple? Read the book and find out. a very good book with good characters and a good story. Good read. Story flows right along. Fun and entertaining characters. Some characters you won't like. Like the complexity of the characters and the process they travel through! Love a good romance! Would recommend!

While a simple hometown boy with hometown girl love re-kindled this is far from that. These two have a similar past from different views and it makes for an interesting dynamic. The personalities also make it interesting and the drama keep you turning the pages. Yes there are passionate times and a really endearing hea, there is also suspense and interesting characters with a strong plot and the author lays it out well. It's a great read and man how can you not love a cowboy like Cash who is all gentleman and sugar dumplings at home and ready to defend and protect when needed. Emma was no joke either. When she needed to she asked for what she needed then put it to work when she had to. Gotta love a girl who stands up for herself when it's time and breakdown later.

To me this was one beautiful book. Watching Emma take back her life and find the strength to accomplish it was empowering. Cash is exactly what I look for in a book boyfriend. He is one yummy cowboy, but with the heart, gentleness, and strength Emma needs.
