Charming and sweet little book about Ian visiting his grandparents. I liked the simple illustrations and the story's emphasis on calming Ian's fears about being away from home and developing a strong relationship with his grandparents. I agree with other reviewers that it might be a bit wordy for some preschoolers, but for others, it may be just right. When our children were small, they could listen to stories for hours on end. However, some of my preschool students could hardly sit for a much shorter book. I think with even the squirmy littles, it could perhaps be read over a couple of sessions, maybe before dinner and before bed. Or perhaps Mom and Dad could start the book one night and send it with Ian for Grandparents to finish it the next night.

I gratefully received this book for free from the author, the publishers, and NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.
