Perfect read. Great romance. Well written with the perfect amount of character development.

Megan Westfield has written a really sweet romance and adventure. Josh is a rock climber and definitely on the wild side. April is a documentary maker and is cautious to her very core. The book was wonderfully descriptive and paced in just the right way that I like. This is a great love story (my review definitely doesn't do the book justice) and I recommend it to everyone!

Thank you for the chance to read and review One True Loves. Unfortunately, I could not get into it and since I didn't finish it, I won't be reviewing.

This is a sweet and heartwarming romance, with unique twists that made it so engaging. It’s heartfelt and emotional read that I literally couldn’t put down. Really grabs at your heart strings and doesn’t let go the whole way through this amazing and wonderful story. First book by this author but won’t be the last. Would recommend

This was a different type of romance and totally loved it. Slow burn romance that was nicely paced and a beautifully worded debut from Megan Westfield...WTG! Definitely got me in my feels!!

Please note that an ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

I received this book as a second look title through Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for my honest review.

April, who is almost finished with her college degree, has just one thing left to do before graduating: becoming an intern with Walkabout, a film crew sent out to Yosemite. Their goal is to film Josh when he free climbs Sorcerers Spire, a dangerous mountain that has not been free climbed or freeBASEd before. Three years ago April, sat in the audience and watched her father die in an aerobatic stunt and has suffered from PTSD since then, even though she won’t admit to suffering.

The crew sets up camp at the base of Yosemite, and with it being April’s first time, she was poorly prepared for the cold temps and the possible bears lurking in the woods. Danny, the leader of Walkabout, told her to meet up with Josh and set a time for the first interview. Let’s just say the interview did not go as planned. April had already done research and noticed that Josh is not all that camera friendly, so she tried to make him feel as comfortable as possible but he just comes off as aloof.

April, having a little crush on Josh (because of course she does), is not a good thing for her job or for her sanity. Due to her losing her dad the way she did, she swore off men who put their lives on the line because she could not stand to lose anyone else she loved. Seeing as she will be filming Josh from on top of a cliff, she realizes she to hike up there in advance to get in position. A while later, Josh makes it to the top and informs her the crew was having technical issues and they would have to redo the climb at a later date. Because she ended up missing the climb itselfs, she asks Josh if she can film what he usually does after he finishes a climb. He tells her yes, only if she goes for a swim with him after.

Josh really starts to open up with her when he discovers she is single; he has thought all this time she was with one of her fellow crew members. As they get closer, she breaks the clause in her contract forcing them to keep their relationship a secret so she doesn’t get fired. April begins to have second thoughts about their relationship and decides that after his big climb she will break up with him, even though they have been making plans for after the climb. After doing practice runs on Sorcerers Spire, it’s finally time for the big freeBASing climb. Things go according to plan, until they don’t, at which point April freaks out and leaves. After some much need conversations with her mom, April decides it time to face her fears.

This was an excellent read. It actually had me looking for other rock climbing stories to read afterward.

While I’m a fan of the author, Unfortunately Lessons in Gravity didn’t resonate with me. I was able to connect with the characters in the book.

Great read, the story of April and Josh.
April is working on a film crew which is making a climbing film featuring Josh. After losing her father in an accident she stays away from danger, but is drawn to Josh and the more time they spend together the more they fall for each other.

Unique, intense, and emotional. This was my first book by Megan Westfield and I enjoyed it. The characters were likeable and interesting. Overall a good read.

Lessons In Gravity was very "meh" for me. I didn't love it, I didn't necessarily hate it. I loved the idea, but not the execution. There was no real substance to the romance between April and Josh, and their pasts didn't endear me to them as much as the author hoped. I did love the descriptions of Yosemite, though. I used to go stay there as a little girl and had fun re-visiting now. That's really the only reason I stayed with the book.

This was a really sweet romance. It’s about two people falling for each other despite their brains and fears telling them not to.

This is probably one of the most beautifully descriptive books I have ever read. The scenery, smells, sounds... I could easily picture my surroundings without ever have been to Yosemite before. And the description of Josh's body... hot! The author excelled at providing information about topics I'm not familiar with, like rock climbing, in way a way where I learned but it didn't come across as a lesson. I read this book in one sitting and would definitely recommend to others.
