Some thrillers have the unfortunate tendency to fall back on tropes of the genre such as antagonists who are brilliant enough to track down their quarry while avoiding the police, but inevitably do something so pointless - often disguised as part of some "mental illness" - that they are captured/killed. Another such trope is to have a protagonist who is too scared to go to the police, usually "because they might be involved", and goes on the run to avoid the antagonist, but inevitably does something so stupid they are captured. Scar Tissue manages to hit these tropes and several others thus becoming a most uninteresting and non-thrilling thriller.
The short choppy writing, constant point of view changes - particularly those trying throw red herrings pertaining to who knows what at the reader -, the murderer who at times is so stupid he attacks and kills the wrong person, yet he can track down the intended victim across the country, and a two dimensional character who gets no real fleshing out as a character, yet is behind much of the suspense, make this into a poor read at best. Some better editing and additional plot work would probably improve the final product.

Loved this book! The characters are well thought out and developed. The plot had some crazy plot twists and turns that kept me guessing and up half the night reading!

This book was eerie and creepy and I loved it! The main character can't seem to catch a break as she is hunted through the years by a mad man who can't get her off his mind. I found myself rooting for her because she had a picture perfect world that crashed down on her and you just want her to come out in the end on top. This book certainly set up the main character for more mysteries and become the unintended hero.

Absolutely loved this story. Kept me engaged from the beginning. Read it in one afternoon. I could not put it down. Loved the story line, was a new twist to the whole serial killer genre. Loved the characters. It was very believable and truly suspenseful. In fact hate to admit it but actually had a nightmare about it. That has not happened in a while. Great job MC Domovitch. Can' wait to start the next one.

The concept of abduction and torture isn't new but the plot is developed with a few twists and turns that add interest. The male characters are a bit flat with little or no character development. Worth reading but not making my personal top reads list.

What a thriller never knew what was going to happen. Can't wait to read another book by this author.

Scar Tissue by M C Domovitch is a mystery and thriller and general fiction (adult) read.
When successful model Ciara Kelly wakes up in the hospital, remembering nothing of the weeks she has been missing, her only clues are the ugly words carved into her skin. According to the police, she was a victim of the Cutter, a serial killer who has already murdered three women. For her protection the police and her doctors give a press conference, announcing that because her amnesia is organically caused, her memory loss is permanent. But, whether her memory returns or not is anybody’s guess.
Overnight, Ciara’s glamorous life is gone. Her scars have killed both her modeling career and her relationship with her rich boyfriend. With nothing to keep her in New York, she returns to her home town of Seattle, moves in with her sister and goes about building a new life. But when her sister lets it slip that Ciara’s memory is returning, the killer comes after her again. If Ciara is to stay alive, she must keep one step ahead of the Cutter.
