A great exposition of the book of John.
This book takes you gradually through the book of John in the New Testamen. I found it ideal for grasping a deeper understanding of the book which differs from the synoptic gospels and at a level which the lay person should be easily able to understand.
The only drawbacks were that it would have been better to have a version of John included with the exposition and a concluding prayer.

Hearing the Vouce of God by David Chadwick is a wonderful devotional that is easy to commit to daily.  I love that there is enough space to make notes in the book.  I would recommend this book for yourself, for a gift, or even for a couple's devotional or to use in a small group.

This is a beautiful, daily devotional book that is easy to read and great for self reflection. I highlighted a lot of quotes from the book, some of the quotes really stuck with me.
Some of my favorite quotes are:
• Today, as you awaken in the morning and watch the sun nod into the evening, remember it's his world. When you enjoy the tantalizing tapestry, the magnificent majesty, the delightful design of his colorful creation, know that he made it all for you to richly enjoy.
• Finally, even as you grow older, he still cares for you. He saves his best wine until the end. He saves people's best years in life to be their last years. Age is just a number. It means nothing to him. All he cares about is your faithfulness.
• Because of this humanity, there is no temptation that you face that he is not aware of. When you become weary, remember that he became weary. When you feel alone, know that he felt the same way,
