This was a bittersweet read for me. Before I found Gay Romance, Carl Weber's writing use to be my auto buy and read. I loved his stories. He was my favorite writer for a longer time. It's been more then 5 years since I converted to Gay Romance. It's not the sex that attracts me, it's the writing and feelings that I get with reading these stories. This book felt like coming home. A few of the characters are from my favorite book by him "Married Men", ten years ago I feel like in love with this group of guys. As much as I enjoyed it, it felt off. I didn't fall in love with the writing automatically. At times if felt very pedestrian when reading it. I hope this is the opening I need to come to this author. It's been a few books that he's released side my departure but I see no reason not for me to backtrack to his with.

I think 'Man on the Run' may be the 7th novel I've read by Carl Weber. Mr. Weber is a storyteller. He understands character development and how to engage readers from a simple plot. The stories I've read are about simple people, families or friends that come together to aid in arduous situations.

In 'Man on the Run' again Mr. Weber used friends to aid his protagonist in a difficult situation. In doing so you see the repercussions of their actions and how it affects everyone in their circle negatively. Jay Crawford is a complex man. He has a loyal group of homeboys that you learn aren't all loyal. Some help him blindly and others hesitantly. I found learning about difficult situations and reading how they will play out kept me engaged, At the end I was rooting for Jay and hoping for the best for all involved. It was a fantastic read and I definitely recommend it.

Jay Crawford has been in prison for ten years for a crime he did not commit. He has escaped and is now on the run attempting to prove his innocence. His friends will get caught up in helping to prove his innocence. Their own relationships as well as their freedom will be put to the test.

You will be reintroduced to the Duncan's (LC and Sons) and their operation. There will be an unexpected surprise for one of the guys that will lead to another man on the run.

The fellas are back together again, sort of. Jay has spent the last several years of his life in jail for a crime he says he didn't commit. So with the help of his brotherhood, Will, Kyle and Allen, he sets out to prove his innocence. Along the journey, you will see familiar names from some of the previous stories. After reading the first two books in the series, Married Men and She ain't the one, you wonder if Jay the Playboy has finally changed his ways. You will find out by the end of the story. I really enjoyed finding out what happened to the original characters. Each man is facing drama in his own life, but they show up to help their friend. A true friendship bond.

Classic Weber, over the top drama that you just can't take your attention away from. Hilarity and comedic timing is well placed and it felt so very good to revisit these characters from the past!

This story is told in alternating first person voice and it follows four main characters, Jay, Kyle, Wil, and Allen. What a dynamic read with four very different personalities. Some of the situations they find themselves drawn into are almost on the cusp of unrealistic but not so unbelievable that it stops you from becoming engrossed in the story. There are lots of sexy times between these men and their respective ladies and that could be a turn off to some readers.

Everything the author was trying to convey about the friendship of these characters came through in this story. These men had a bond built since childhood that although extremely tested could not be broken. The repercussions from Jay’s blind need to see himself freed from prison were greater than he had ever considered and this story deals with the fallout from his choices for both himself, his friends and their families. There are some surprises along the way with a twist at the end that I did not see coming and it definitely opened an opportunity for a series.

This story begins with action and it continues straight through until the end. Some of the situations Jay and his friends find themselves in are hilarious! There may be little character development but the characters are what drive the story. They are four very different men and what kept me hanging on was seeing how the impact of Jay’s escape unfurled in their lives. It was incredibly entertaining! Once you start reading this story you will have to hang on until the end!

The Married Men; Kyle, Wil, Jay and Allen, are back! Best friends for decades, their bond is unbreakable......or is it? In this novel, Jay is on the run after breaking out of prison for a rape he claims to not have committed and he needs the help of his lifelong friends. Will they aid and abet him or turn their backs on him? In this novel, each man is going through their own personal dramas, but no matter what’s going on, right or wrong, they stick together. This book was a page turner from beginning to end, plenty of twists and turns. The characters stayed true to form. I loved the implementation of the characters from “The Family Business” & “She Ain’t the One.” Not once did I think to connect Ashlee or Wil to any of the characters from former novels that I’ve read. Ba-by, those Duncan's aren't to be played with. Good job weaving them in, I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
