I fell in love with the town of Chance Nebraska and how the residents all pull together when another tornado hits the town when I was lucky enough to read the first book in this series, Twisted Up.  This time around, I was lucky enough to learn more about Max & Bree's story which had been hinted at before.

 

Ms. Nicholas' strong point is definitely her characters.  You can feel Max's longing for what he feels  that he can never have.  Bree's confusion about her changing feelings about her best friend come through clear.  And you just fall in love with both of them and the town itself.

 

I do recommend TANGLED UP to any of my readers who enjoy a contemporary romance.  In fact, I highly recommend reading the first book in this series TWISTED UP if you haven't had the opportunity to do so yet.

Excellent book by Erin Nicholas. This was a great love story between Max and Bree. 
Bree is a total adrenaline junkie who has trouble sticking with the same anything. Max is her best friend who does all the exhilarating activities with her. But he doesn't feel he could live up to being her exciting man all the time. He feels she will be bored with him quickly. 
They are working together chasing tornadoes and helping the town rebuild after a tornado when they finally decide to try to make it work between them. They have a lot of insecurities they have to overcome in order to make it work.

This is the first book I have ever read by Erin Nicholas and I will definitely be reading more.  The story is about two friends where the male of the 'ship wants out of the friend zone.  She's a wild child/free spirit who is enjoying life and her male friend's role in it.  The male lead is a storm chaser so he has a bit of a wild streak as well.  I enjoy this trope quite a bit and enjoyed how she wrote the characters.  I do think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the first book in the series.

I love Erin's books and Tangled Up was no different. I liked Max right away, but it took me a little to warm up to Bree. Max and Bree have been friends since childhood and Max has always loved Bree, even when she broke up with him because she thought he was boring. Bree is happy with how their relationship is, but when they are faced with a tornado that is barreling towards them, things change and their relationship is driven to a different level.

Even though I really liked Tangled Up, I struggled to like Bree and found her annoying at times BUT Max saved this book for me. I liked him in Twisted Up, when we first got to meet him with Jake and Avery after the tornado at their reunion.

Can’t wait for the next book.

Do not read this book unless you can sit and read it in one sitting.  Once you start it you will not want to put it down.  I cannot wait for Dillon's story.  

This story is about 3 cousins who fall for 3 best friends in the Tornado riddled town of Chance. 

Max is the storm chaser and construction expert,  Bree is a town deputy.  MAx and Bree have been close friends all of their life.  Max doesn't think Bree has staying power and she believes what he says.  But then she realizes he is wrong,  Can Bree convince him otherwise?

ERIN NICHOLAS…  OMG Thank you for writing this phenomenal book.  I LOVED absolutely every windblown word!!!  Ice cream will never be the same for me!! Bree and Max were just phenomenal together.  Reading their story and their backgrounds, and the way they kept coming back to each other never realizing that they felt the same.  SIGH…  I am just glad they BOTH got their heads out of their a… butts and realized what they meant to each other.
This is the second book in this wonderful crazy series, and just as well written as the first.  I cannot wait to read the next and to see what happens to the wonderful doctors.

Initially I didn't love the idea of a "storm chaser."  Glad I went ahead and read the book.  Particularly liked that the author has a strong connection with the subject matter of tornadoes....maybe that's why the story worked so well.  A great read!

Erin Nicholas can be a Whirlwind when writing.  Book 2 in the Taking Chances Series  - Tangled Up.  Was a can't put down, read in one sitting book.  Bree and Max have been friends since childhood and stayed that way into adulthood.  They are a daredevil team in all things, but love!!!  Will they see they are perfect for each other???  Will they blow away like a tornado??  I suggest reading this book!!!  I love this series and can not wait for Book 3 !!!

Tangled Up is the second book in the Taking chances series.  While well written I was a bit disappointed in the story.  This story takes place at the exact same time as Twisted Up and has some of the same scenes, just with a different couple's point of view.  The story itself diverges enough so that it can be, and is, its own story with some of the same scenes glossed over rather than retold (such as when Jake and Max went to go find the little girl who was looking for her dog) but others (the major plot points) are retold in their entirety.  

The ice cream humor/metaphors makes this book pretty funny which was a plus but I found myself getting annoyed with the characters telling each what they are thinking/feeling (such as Max telling Bree what Bree is thinking/feeling).  

One of the bigger plot points in both books is getting the town rebuilt so that it's presentable for the family that is thinking about moving there, however neither closes that loop and tells up whether or not they do.  

Unlike book 1, this story is that there is an epilogue which was nice...but also leads me to believe that it's a lead into a third book (???).  

If you want a fun escape this is a great book with an excellent mix of fun, action, and steam.

While a typical friends to lovers story, the writing was fresh and made it feel not so typical.

Storm chasers have always fascinated me, one of my favorite movies was about one. That was a draw to this series aside from the small town factor. The time line somewhat parallel the what happens in book one with Jake and Avery. Right then I noticed Max and Bree had something brewing, well even when they were young at least for Max it seems. Being best friends ever sinceIt will be interesting to watch it boil over and then some. I liked that they were buddies before anything else. 

Bree was always at the center of mischief growing up and this hasn't lost that. Adrenaline seeker but a strong female character who was also self aware. These two could have been great together, knowing each other and getting along well. Too bad that Max is looking to settle and Bree is always looking for new adventures. Max is a pretty solid guy, smart, dependable, adventurous, passionate, fun, and good friend. This coming storm might be the last one for Max and Bree for a while have to make the most of it. Maybe it could also bring people together.

It was interesting how Bree's adventure seeking ways reflect her psyche too. That there was deeper meaning in the why she move on a lot and can't stay steady. It also has an effect on her relationship with Max and if they can move on. I found the analogies a bit confusing at times, kind of went over my head in way. Maybe a mote direct approach, say something the song comes to mind. I like that it was smart and not the usual too. They had lots to overcome though.

I like sweet small town books and the residents of Chance are charming and endear you to them. What I like most about these books are the women hold positions of importance, very different but great to see. They may not always be strong but they're real. I still like this series and I'm eager for Kitt and Dillon's book next!

Max and Bree have tried dating before but have settled for friendship. Now with new danger of  a tornado, their relationship rekindled .
Enjoy the setting and characterization of this author's books. This is the second of the Taking Chances series.

this was a new author to me. Guess what they found themselves a new reader. Loved everything about this book.

Tangled Up is an enjoyable story of two high school friends who reunited over a tornado.  Max is a great character while Bree is a so-so character.  Supposedly these two are best friends, but I had to wonder: how can you be best friends if one thinks the other is boring?  

The tornado brings about some excitement, but other parts of the book feel stale.  This is a standalone story although it is book 2 in a series.  I had not read the first story but felt no loss of connection with the events of the story.

When choosing a new book, it’s the title and the cover that attract you. It’s the words on the cover that make you want to open the book. But the author must then write a story that interests you, and they must develop characters that you like and relate too. In Tangled Up, Erin Nicholas does just that. This is the story of Max and Bree. Best Friends, who fall in love. This is about the city of Chance, and the people who grew up there. Let’s face it there are a million books a million authors. The books contain a city, and people. Boy, girl, but what makes Erin continue to bring me back to her books are the way the characters relate. The stories they tell. When you can’t wait to meet all the characters. When you want to laugh with them, and see their lives unfold. When you’re counting down the days until the next book. You’ve found an author to celebrate. Laughing, talking out loud to the characters, crying and cheering them on. how you know you’ve found a good book, good characters, a good story. I loved Max and Bree. No surprise. I pretty much love all the characters I meet in Erin Nicholas’ books, and it's not just the great sex. It's the characters. I love that Max adores Bree, that Bree listens and learns from Max, but is still strong and independent. I love that the adventures they share make them stronger even in the face of adversity. I recommend all books by Erin Nicholas. You’re going to love the people you meet in Tangled Up, and you’ll be counting down the day until you return to Chance.

Tangled Up by Erin Nicholas will give you all the feels!!! I loved every word, but that’s normal coming from this author. 

I can always count on Erin Nicholas to give me a heartfelt romance that will leave smiling when I’m done. If you’re a fan of the friends to lovers trope, this should definitely be your next read! The characters are full of life, a little vulnerable, and will have you turning the page as fast as you can. 

Tangled Up is book two in the Taking Chances series but can be read as a standalone, although the first book is amazing, as well!
