As a Library Professional/Purchasing Agent, I found the content found within this book to be of value for children within the age range of 7-10. Also, in my opinion, the drawings were decent, but I believe that this book could excel with a professional illustrator.

Giving this one: 3.5 stars.

As a teacher of many children with behavioural issues, I feel this book is an amazing tool that can make a difference.
The superhero theme will really engage children and it is written at their level with examples they will be able to relate to.

I will be buying a copy of this for my school and recommend to parents also.

Quick Summary: Self-Control to the Rescue was a wonderful book. This resource was educational, engaging, and appropriate. I loved how kid-friendly it was. I opted to read some of it to my kids, and I have to tell you that they were immediately hooked. I could not help but appreciate that. That's huge!

The premise of this book is brilliant, and the content is great. The section for adults is really helpful and interesting with lots of ideas and sharing of personal experience. I also loved the positive vibe of the book and the illustrations were very good and helped it to feel accessible.
My only real reservation was with the childrens section, it was too difficult for my three year old to access, although we read it together and she got some bits, the one I thought would most benefit is 6, but she felt it was too condescending and made fun of some of the 'super hero powers' as she knows that's not real... so I like it but it was tricky in practice.
