Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for a free, digital, ARC of this book. This book is a great combination of scripture, narrative stories from the author, as well as good history about the different Bible stories the author chose to use in the book. The author chose stories from the Bible that showed the heart of Christ - His compassionate heart, His truthful heart, His forgiving heart, etc.

I really enjoyed this book.

"Seeing the heart of Christ", I felt was not necessarily for "Jesus' heart for hurting people". It could potentially help someone who is hurting and needing to see accounts of Jesus' heart in the bible but it seems more of a book I would read while taking a theology course in college. The different hearts of Christ, are explained by different biblical accounts (i.e, the woman at the well, Lepers, the guilty woman), authors opinions, scripture and history. Each of the 12 talked about in "Seeing the heart of Christ" reminded me of sermons a pastor has (in my opinion) beautifully researched. He was able to talk bring in personal stories and opinions that is relatable to the biblical story that is talked about, but also something the reader would be able to relate too. With that being said is this a book I would recommend? By all means yes, but not to someone who might benefit from something more along the lines of grief share. I would recommend this to someone who is eager to learn more about Jesus Christ.

This review is my opinion and is not influenced by anyone else.
