After months and months, Lark has dreamt of a mysterious Irish lover who knows what she wants and gives her exactly what she needs. In regards to “When You Close Your Eyes”, it was a good read, not great which surprised me considering all the five stars reviews I have seen beforehand. It was an interesting premise that I knew it would be from the get-go after reading the blurb. It just didn't blow my mind. Generally speaking it was mediocre at best, the characters just lack the oomph to really bring the story together and the one week “I can't without you” instant love was a uh-no. Furthermore, I thought it was odd how creepy Charles gotten after confessing his infidelity after his now ex fiance probing questions which brings me to another point. The way Charles casually admitting to 'shagging” multiple women during their relationship was a huge left down. No built-up on how Lark found out about his unfaithfulness or anything. It was just wham! Bam! Can we still have sex type of confession and then for him to awkwardly stay at Lark childhood home days after was something else. Furthermore, Lark was very adamant about not giving second chances after she caught her father cheating on her mother prior to the storyline yet here she is stealing kisses with Niall and reliving some of her sexual fantasies while still being engaged to Charles. I guess the the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. To say the least I'm shocked I didn't dropped the series. Kudos to me!

I loved the romance of this story. Our main character Lark begins having hot, steamy dreams about a man she's never met before. They certainly weren't of her fiance Charles! It leaves Lark wondering which life she should be living...Her dream life or her real life. What happens when one day your dream life turns into reality?! That's what happens in the case of Lark. This story is about Lark's trails and tribulations to embrace the life that she not only wants but deserves. At what expense do you have to pay for living the life you want? The story is filled with suspense, betrayal and a good dose of love and heat. It will keep you reading all the way to the end. I highly recommend this book! You'll be glad you read it!

I received an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review. It is hard to review this with words, it’s very steamy and very romantic and the story unfolds in a very natural satisfying way. You root for both the hero and heroine and it’s satisfying when it all works out. More than just erotica, emotionally gratifying

Lark and Nial and Charles...hmmm....This read was well paced and it read well. The scenes were hot and very much frustratingly good. You will see what I mean! I felt this book and their characters. They were strong minded and stayed their courses. This is a good read and I enjoyed it. Is there a second to this book?? I am curious as to the ending. Well, it is a good reAd!!

This book actually really surprised me. I had never read this author before and was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I would recommend it and would read more from Ms. Howard.

Sexy, romantic, and full of tension. The characters are great, whether you like them or not. The story ended up being different than I expected. While there are a lot of steamy scenes, there is plenty else happening.

I was drawn to this book by the hot cover as well as the brief synopsis!!

Lark has a lover that comes to her in her dreams & it’s not her fiancé Charles. Circumstances surrounding the death of her father who she has been estranged from for many years brings her back to Portland , OR for the services.

This book has a great plot & great characters! When Niall appears - the family lawyer he is immediately drawn to Lark. What plays out is a having a dream becomes reality as these two work towards an eventually HEA!!

I thought this book was very different, but in a good way. I had never read this author before so I was surprised how much it kept me intrigued. I'd recommend this to my friends.

Great novel! Full of romance and inspiration--with just the right amount of stress and drama. The chemistry on the ranch between Lark band Niall was breathtakingly believable. This book surprised me several times, which I enjoyed immensely!

Lark is a young business woman who knows what she is doing until her world turns upside down. It begins with a text. Her estranged father has passed away and she must take a trip home after many years away. She connects with her past and finds herself torn. All the while she is having these wonderful dreams of a wonderful loving man whom she doesn't know. Dreams of someone other than her fiance, Charles. Confused, but totally loving the dreams she continues to keep them to herself.

Can dreams come true? She asks herself this as she meets Niall. Now she must make the biggest decision of her life. This is a must read! This is my first book by Roxanne Howard and I will definitely be coming back for more! I loved This story and couldn't it it down! I highly recommend this novel!

This author is new to me and I enjoyed the story very much, her writing style is good kept my interest and I quite liked the characters.

This book was phenomenal. To preface, I think readers for this book will fall into either two categories; either you love the hell out of it (which I did), or you hate it. That's it. The ones who hate it are likely (and from what I've read in the small amount of negative reviews against the positive) readers who prefer insta-love and instant gratification. If that's your jam, this is probably not the best book for you. This is a story that unfolds and has many layers. Insta-love books are like a shot of tequila. When You Close Your Eyes is a long, tall glass of red wine on a balcony in Italy, and I loved every damn sip. The novel is long, even-paced, and a slow, delicious burn. Beneath the heart-pounding, passionate dream sequences and love scenes lies a story of finding who you truly are, and embracing what you really want out of life. It's a complete romance, but also a journey of Lark's self-discovery, and for those who enjoy a slow, satisfying romance novel with twists and turns, this is the book to read. I highly enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone looking for a book that will stay with you long after it's over. I'll read this again and again. Great writing, and wonderful characters. Two thumbs up.

The one thing I found odd was that Lark, the savvy and strong business woman, was such a pushover when it came to her cheating fiance. Why was he still in her childhood home after their confrontation of his infidelity? The idea of the dreams relating to the story was interesting though.

The book was a good read. The story sparked my interest near the start. A strong woman with dreams many women would like to have. But meeting her dream man in the flesh felt a little reaching for me. I like a story to be highly improbable but still slightly possible, and not sure I have ever heard of that happening. But that aside, it does make for good conflict in Lark's thoughts that add good interest in the story. The guilt Lark carried was too much at times. I just wanted to yell at her to get over it.
The book was written well and held my interest most of the time. My biggest issue with it was the end. As most books like this, there is a conflict or confrontation that changes the course you think the story is heading. That came near the end and was quick but only partly resolved. It has me wondering if this book was left open to be a series? There are several questions I wish were resolved, including one of Lark's dreams that I wonder about. Neither the cover or description lead you to believe this is a series, but the open questions at the end make it fell like there is more to come.
I would recommend this book if you want a nice romance to read. I rate it in the middle of the list of book I read, it was good but not great. It did not make me stay up reading because I would not put it down.

I am rather middle of the road on When To Close Your Eyes. The premise intrigued me, but the final product didnt have enough to do with the premise. There was a plethora of erotic dreams, but that's all they were, dreams dropped into the story without context or follow through. The story just went nowhere for me. It was entertaining but not remarkable.

This is the first book by Roxanne D. Howard that I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Her style of writing. keeps you interested and waiting for more. I cannot wait to read more of her books.

This was an interesting read. I enjoyed the book.
I was happy when Lark kicked that loser Charles to the curb. Her and Niall’s relationship was funny and sweet and I enjoyed watching them connect

I love a good steamy romance and When You Close Your Eyes has it in spades. The best part, though, isn't the steamy scenes but the story itself. The steamy scene balance the drama and tension perfectly. This is my first book by Roxanne D. Howard but it won't be my last. Highly recommend!

Oh my! when You Close Your Eyes captivated. With every page and with every chapter, I fell through the rabbit hole. This book was like a puzzle for me. I needed to break the code. But with every word, I was not getting closer to the truth.

Lark is a woman on a mission. She has left her life...then she is warped back into time. Back to her roots. I will admit, Charles aka the fiance, never strike me as the hero of the story. And this because when Niall steps in, the world stops spinning.

When You Close Your Eyes will keep you on your toes!!! I loved the characters, well all of them except Charlie that is. I recommend this book! The only reason I gave this review a 4 is because of the ending. I won't spoil it, but I feel like there is unfinished business with Charlie. Other than that, I loved this book!

Wow. Great story!! Family, romance, drama... all my favorites!! I need this book to be a series so I can follow Lark and Niall! Definitely recommend!!

4 stars: Great book! This book had a different take on boy meets girl …Lark meets her man through her dreams! This novel had all the right elements of a good book …good plot line, good character development, hot steamy scenes! This is my first outing with this author and I would definitely check her out again!

What happens when the man of your dreams becomes your reality? I absolutely loved Niall. He was everything a romance hero should be and his and Lark's chemistry was off the charts. The love scenes went on a little too long and I found myself skimming them just to get back to the action but I wasn't ready for the book to end. I would have loved an epilogue but it was a very satisfying story.

Yes this is a romance story, but it is a unique story. You will be pulled into Larks life and go on a ride through the pages. The story is one that will stick with you even after the last page is read.

3.5⭐⭐⭐ I really enjoyed this one, it's been sitting on my shelf far too long and I'm glad I finally read it. I'm a big fan of sex in novels, but at times I wanted a bit more from this one, sometimes it felt like there wasn't much more between the two main characters than their chemistry.
I really liked Lark, but she could be judgemental where her mum was concerned, not even attempting to understand what she'd been through and why she made the decisions she did. I liked that she stood up to Charles and said enough was enough, that she knew her own worth.
Charles was certainly a piece of work and he got more out of control and unstable as the story progressed to the point I was very scared for Lark's safety.
I really liked Niall, there's something about an Irish hero that draws me in. He was so different to Charles, and I liked the way he treated Lark. There were times at the end I thought he was a bit possessive, but I could overlook because of how much he truly loved Lark.
Overall a good read and I'll be looking for more by this author.

A very intriguing book that makes for an interesting read. Definitely keeps the readers amused and definitely a must when it comes to the genre and the novel quality. Highly recommend it.
