Description

“What are you afraid of?”

“That I won’t have enough time.”

“To do what?”

“To figure out what this place is.”

Are we alone in this world? Who created us? If we are orphans, were we lost or abandoned? Or are we an unintentional product of an indifferent universe?

Jim Ra wears a mask. On the surface he is a private investigator, cutting through the jungle of a corrupted and rotten human society. But under the mask is a person searching for the origin.

Caught in the crossfire of the disintegrating quantitative easing fraud, Jim loses everyone he loves: his daughter, his father, and his best friend. On a desperate rescue mission, he has no choice but to apply the dangerous skill of finding Sleeping Dragons. This path leads Jim to China, where in his search for the origin, he finds the destination.

Editor's review

This book is for fans of dystopian novels. It is like a cross between Mr. Robot and The Big Short. It has tons of fascinating philosophical discussions, but even though the ideas are complex, the author's writing is clear and easy to understand. I couldn't put this book down!   -Olivia Goodwin

I don't have much to say about this one (must be my mood at the moment) other than I enjoyed it. The author is very imaginative and writes good dialog. It is a "thinkers" novel written in an unusual style and difficult to categorize its genre; mainly sci-fi. Recommended.

I really appreciate the advanced copy for review!!

A really intersting and engaging book - part social philosophy, part techno-gazing and always interesting. I read it very quickly becauseI kept waiting to find out what happened next. So it was a bit of a wrench to get to the cliffhanger ending! That said, I will look out for the next book in the series as I have a background in some of the areas of expertise asked for and will be keen to find out how these get woven into the storyline, Can't wait to read it, and William Topchiev is now on my list of authors to look out for. Highly recommended indeed.
