Francesca Cavendish has molded her life around avenging the murder of her family and friends at a young age. Pulled from the wreckage of a massacre by an employee of the Mont Claire household, the two dedicated over two decades to molding the young girl formerly known as Pippa into a dashing Countess capable of infiltrating London's darkest secret society. Francesca has lived a life of relentless and reckless focus and she can feel herself closing in on the men responsible for destroying her hopes and dreams as a young girl. But when her path crosses that of the Devil of Dorset, the Crown's most dangerous spy, Francesca feels the first tickle of true passion, something she would have never believed possible having lost her first true love in the raid that killed her family. As the two realize they are going after the same target, will they be able to work together to bring down the villainous cult or will their passion destroy them?

VERDICT is this is a steamy romance read that will entertain and thrill fans of historical romances. I was captivated pretty quickly by Francesca Cavendish and the Devil of Dorset. The story moves quickly and the suspense makes this book worthy of binging in a day or two. Even though it is the third novel in a series, it can easily stand on its own as a story. I had not read the two previous novels, but plan to go back and do so!

Hidden identities, multiple intrigues and secrets, and both tragedy and ultimately triumph are all featured in Francesca's and Chandler's story. Layers are uncovered as the past, present, and future come together in their passionate relationship. I loved that the three women friends formed lifetime bonds in this series. Recommended.

The Devil in Her Bed is absolutely phenomenal! I am a big fan of Kerrigan Byrne and have read many of her books, and this time she has outdone herself. I fell in love with Declan and Pippa from the very beginning of the story and equally loved Chandler and Francesca. This story had me on an emotional rollercoaster-going from happy, to sad, to angry, to shock, and back around again. I never expected the twist at the end! What an awesome way to bring the whole story full circle! If you love deep, passionate historical romances, then you will adore this book! Keep them coming, Kerrigan Byrne! I can’t wait to read the next one!

Love Kerrigan Byrne! This series has been so lovely- sexy but also built on strong female friendships. This novel is based on secret identities, fear of the truth and family secrets. There is also a lot of action and danger in this series

The Devil in disguise…

I’m so happy with how The Devil in Her Bed turned out but I admit that it was a slow-building kind of happiness. This is Kerrigan Byrne at her best. She messes with my mind, mucks around with my heart, and makes me question my preconceived ideas. I can now admit to my bias at having a confident, outspoken, and deceptive historical romance heroine. It seemed out of place and bordering on (the dreaded term) ‘too modern’ for a woman of her time. As the story progresses though, we know that her circumstances are far from normal. It becomes completely believable for a woman to have power over men and their baser needs, and to wield it.

I absolutely loved the feeling this story provoked in me. I felt protective of Francesca, Ferdinand, Pippa, and Chandler and was devastated at the horror they faced. Again, I admired the Red Rogues for their dedication to each other. Redmayne and Ramsay are the perfect partners for Alex and Cecil, and I loved that we get lots of interactions with them. Francesca’s strength and perseverance made her a heroine I respected and became one of my very favourite characters.

Francesca surprised me, to be honest. I’m not normally a fan of independent and stubborn heroines, but in this case, her independence and stubbornness weren’t to the detriment of others. This chick could hold her own. She is confident in her abilities to defend herself and Francesca always went in fully prepared for what she would face. It was great that Chandler was her accomplice…even though he wanted to be her protector.

Another surprise…Chandler went nearly the whole book before he went numbskull on me. Silly duffer was acting like a complete hypocrite. Sure, he eventually comes good, but for about 2.5 seconds I wanted Francesca to tell him to stick it where the sun don’t shine. All good. He’s sexy, smart, and intelligent and he loves Francesca even when she’s being stubborn and obstinate. I can forgive him for being a twit for those 2.5 seconds.

The storyline was captivating, and I loved that there were plenty of times I was surprised by the secrets being revealed. We are exposed to a scene that’s a wee bit kinky but it’s more from an observation perspective that being in the thick (wink, wink) of things. The sexy times were HOT but there weren’t too many scenes and they were never over the top.

This is my favourite kind of historical romance and the exact reason why I’m such a fan of Kerrigan Byrne. There’s a touch of darkness which is a great contrast to the light at the end of the journey. The women in this series are strong and have overcome heartache, devastation and loss to find their happiness. The heroes are bossy, demanding and very protective of the women they fall in love with. This protectiveness has spread to all of the Red Rogues and I loved Ramsey’s defence of Francesca when Chandler was being a douchewaffle. They are a family of their own making.

If you haven’t started this series yet, I highly recommend going back to #1 in the Devil You Know series. If you haven’t read a historical romance by Kerrigan Byrne…DO IT!! You can thank me later. 😉

This was my second book of the Devil You Know series, so I knew a little to expect from Kerrigan Byrne. She has a certain style of writing I've not encountered earlier. It is historical romance, with a definite edge to the stories. The main characters are certainly no saints and the gritty and gore of the old days are not disguised. Kerrigan keeps you on edge, when the story slowly unfolds. And there are layers upon layers in this story. Bot Felicia and the Devil of Dorset have a lot of secrets to hide.
I loved the chemistry between them and the way that Felicia is fearless in her guest to avenge her family. And of course, the Red Rogues do make an appearance, which is nice when you have read the other parts in the series as well. Another great read! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This is my second book from the author and I enjoy the storytelling ,which differentiates it from most regency romances. If you didn't read the previous books, you will miss some of the background of how the "red rogues" came together. Highly recommended.

4.5 stars! Wow, what a way to end a great series, definitely my favorite of the series! Chandler and Frank melted my heart and finally answered my questions I had about Frank and her past. While the revenge was the big driving force, Kerrigan knocked me over with the depth of emotions, the plot twists and the characters in this final installment. I will miss the Red Rogues but I am glad they all got amazing stories.

This story is spellbinding. You can't put it down. Francesca/Pippa has been through hell. Chandler has too. No spoiler in my review, just know that you'll shed tears with this one!

Kerrigan Byrne's novels are just amazing for me. They are always filled to the brim with sassy and engaging heroines and alpha heroes who give me all the swoons. I was absolutely obsessed with The Devil in Her Bed and could not get enough of Chandler and Francesca.

What I loved more than anything was how empowering and strong Francesca was. She was a woman on a mission and was one of the strongest heroines I have read from Byrne. I also loved the banter between Chandler and Francesca. Their interactions were outright funny but also quite sexy where I could feel the simmering tension between them.

Overall, this story was sexy and suspenseful. I absolutely loved this novel so much! ~Ratula, 5 stars

I am STILL loving every book I read from the very talented KB!!! This book was no exception! The plot was twisted! Chandler and Francesca’s encounters were funny at first, and then became very steamy! Her stories have it all, humor, emotion, alpha males, strong females, and love! At this point, I will read anything she writes!!!

“Lord, but she could start an argument in an empty room.”

I've loved reading the stories of the Red Rogues--each story has been interesting and filled with strong friendships and strong women. And as much as I've enjoyed each novel, I've officially found my new favorite Kerrigan Byrne in The Devil in Her Bed.

I've been insanely curious about the story of Francesca and this novel not only gives the history but gives me a heroine who is so fierce and independent and strong that I can't imagine another character topping her in my top favorite heroines. I loved her story--her bravery, sleuthing, and lack of effs to give filled my entire afternoon. I enjoyed being a fly on the wall as she solved the mystery of the slaughter of her childhood and 'seeing' Chandler become completely smitten by her. He really was the perfect partner for her--he had his own secrets, matched her strength and stubbornness and also had run out of effs to give--and reading his reactions to her was just so much fun.

As what I'm assuming is the final novel featuring the Red Rogues comes to an end, it was fun to see what Cecilia and Alexandra were up to and to see all three of them have their happily ever afters. And while I'm sad to see them go, I'm excited to explore even more of the characters and stories written by Kerrigan Byrne.

I loved this story!

It is the third book in the Devil You Know trilogy and it tied up the loose ends from the others in the series – it had a great storyline too!

This book was really well written and it had me hooked until the very end. The characters were excellent, very well developed and I loved the detail – there was some really great interaction too! The characters ‘played’ their parts well and turned the story in to a lovely romance that was full of hope and longing.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and it is another fabulous release from this author! It is 5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended – loved it!

I requested to read and review this book from St. Martin Publishing Company. I loved this book will keep you guessing how things are going to go until the end. Francesca is strong and don't mess with her she will do whatever is necessary to protect the ones she loves. Chandler is chased by demons of the past. Its great to see what he can overcome if he wants to. This a powerful story about betrayal, sacrifice, love, mystery. And how about doing the right things came at a great price for some. Getting to read about them members of the Red Rogue Society will keep you on thr edge of your seat. This for a mature reader.

Definitely one of the best books I read this year. I read the previous books of this saga and I enjoyed them but THE DEVIL IN HER BED it's so far the BEST book I read by Kerrigan.

The two main characters are amazing, at times unlikable but extremely complex and interesting to read. Their chemistry is off the charts and when you start the book it's impossible to put it down.

An emotional rollercoaster ride. Spectacular. Words can't describe how much I enjoyed this story, I'll definitely re-read it.

•••••
Dos protagonistas super complejos y hasta tirando a antihéroe/heroína, marcados x la misma tragedia. Aditivo, el mejor libro de la autora, pasa a mi lista de "mejores segundas oportunidades". Espectacular.

From the very beginning of this enchanting trilogy there have been hints to what Francesca’s secret may be. As we all know the the Red Rogues all hold their dark secrets and have only each other to trust and depend on. That is until they each meet their match, the men who are not only equal to them in strength and will but will do anything to protect them and keep them safe.

Francesca Cavendish lost her whole family in a brutal murder and is the sole survivor of the massacre that she witnessed. She is the Countess of Mont Claire and is on a mission to find the ones responsible, the Crimson Council, an underground group who seems to have members in the highest ranks of society and is just about untouchable. But she is also hiding a very big secret of her own and it seems there is someone from her past who knows it and is on a mission to expose it.

The Devil of Dorset goes by many names and many aliases. No one knows who he really is or anything about his past. He is a spy who never backs away from a fight or a mission and is on a mission to end the Crimson Council, a mission that is just as personal to him as it is to Francesca.

This is a story that spans decades and not only warms your heart with the promise of love ever after, but the chemistry and heat is so intense that it will literally burn your eyes- and singe itself into your fantasies.

Kerrigan Byrne does an amazing job of bringing to life strong and passionate heroines with heroes who aren’t intimated by them but are able to match them in every aspect. So sorry to see this trilogy come to an end but can’t wait to see what Byrne has in store for us next!

This book was a gripping emotional rollercoaster ride. I was hooked from beginning to end. Francesca has been on a mission of revenge since she was a small child. The Devil of Dorset on the same mission. The plot was ripe with tension, loyalty and love. It had me spellbound with the darkness they fought against not only externally, but internally as well. Each character was well developed and intriguing. The pace kept you turning the pages with a rich storyline. Although I did not read the previous books in the series I did not feel lost in the storyline. It did make me want to go back and read the other two now for sure.

Loved this book! This series was good and this last book is no exception. It had excitement, action and romance. There are surprising secrets. I highly recommend this book, you won’t be disappointed.

Kerrigan Byrne does it again and again and again. She is the queen of dark historical romance and she does it so well.

I have speed through this series and have been so excited for Francesca's book, and I was not disappointed in her story arc, or that of the Devil of Dorset.

Francesca has been the most elusive of the heroines of this series. She's a bit more prickly, and I wasn't exactly sure what her backstory really was to get a good feel on her. While her story was dark, it didn't feel as triggering as Alexandra's (in the first book) or as tenderhearted as Cecilia's (second book). This one was pretty dark though, especially as we learn more of the Crimson council as well as the Devil of Dorset's crazy backstory that is also intertwined with Francessa/Pippa's.

There is plenty of heat between these two, but a lot of heart,

4 stars

I am so happy to be back with the Red Rogues! Kerrigan has an amazing gift of grabbing the reader in the first chapter and not letting you go. If you love books with strong, kick ass heroines, banter, loyal friendships and undeniable chemistry, this book is for you!!

A thank you to NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for the ARC to read and review. A Fantastic ending to the Red Rogues series. Francesca is determined to find the culprits that murdered her family and she will do absolutely anything it takes to gain access to the Crimson Council. She is intercepted by the man known as the Devil of Dorset who cannot get her out of his mind.

Twists and surprises along the way. Kerrygan Byrne delivers as always.

The Devil in Her Bed is exquisitely written from the first page to the last. I couldn’t put it down, yet I did not want it to end. The stories of not only the main characters, but also the secondary characters, are compelling, believable, and heartwarming. The personalities weave in and out and crate a lovely pattern of intrigue and resolution.

Words can't describe how much I absolutely loved the final book in the Red Rogues/Devil You Know series .Francesca is a woman bent on revenge and has no problem sacrificing her reputation and even her life to avenge her family. We've been able to see her fiercely loyal and protective to those that she loves in the first two books and now we get to see where it started and exactly how deep it goes.

While trying to infiltrate a secret society to unmask who was behind the slaughter of her family twenty years ago she runs into her hero and they cannot explain how or why they are so attracted and drawn to each other. The hero is a mysterious and elusive spy with multiple identities who can sense that there is something about Francesca that he is drawn and is determined to find out her secrets.

There isn't too much that can be said without giving spoilers away but the love story between these two is filled with sexual tension and old tragedy that makes you cheer when they finally get their HEA.

If you're familiar with Kerrigan's writing style you would have been able to pick up on clues that she left throughout the previous books to predict twists and how the story would play out but even with being an avid reader she was able to give me a few that I wasn't expecting and made the book so much more enjoyable.

I think that this was an amazing ending to a great series and I hope that we are able to see more of the Red Rogues in the future and possibly have them interact with the Victorian Rebels characters.

A fitting end to The Devil you Know series. I adored these three fierce women and their loyalty and love for each other. I loved watching each win their HEA with the strong bold men who were their match in every way. Exciting plots, emotional twists and drool worthy romance make all three books must reads.

I loved this book so much! Amazing heroine. The chemistry and banter between the hero and heroine was fantastic. One of my favorite books by Kerrigan Byrne.

This last part of the Devil You know trillogy brings it to a rip -roaring end. It is now Francesca's turn to confront her past and complete the revenge she's waited 20 years for. She has grown into a formidable instrument of that revenge, powerful both physically and in her alliances. She will need all her personal strength as well as the help of her friends to bring her enemies to their knees. One of those on her side, Chandler, is an government operative that she has met in previous books, albeit in disguise. The two of them find their soul mates in each other but secrets, both hers and his, will threaten their relationship. I don't want to say too much and give anything away, so I will just say that the end is well worth the wait. I couldn't put it down. For those who haven't read the first two parts of the trilogy, you can still enjoy this one. But you will undoubtedly want to read the others afterwards. I do recommend reading them in order.
