This one is short yet quite colurful and accurate in telling who Stevie Wonder was.

I find the storybook quite fascinating as it tells vividly how he grew up and how focused he was in his music. Indeed, he was a legend. The writing is fun to read. The ending summed up well and good.

Thank you, authors and the publisher for the advance reading copy.

Stevie Wonder is the newest lead in this latest edition of the Little People, BIG DREAMS series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. This series is such a delight and the perfect way to educate not just kids but everyone about historic and cultural icons.

Stevie Wonder is an American singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. This book follows Wonder as he signs his first music contract at 11 to being named Messenger of Peace by the UN.

Melissa Lee Johnson illustrates this installment and does an amazing job. Johnson's art style was so captivating and her art definitely further helped tell Stevie Wonder's story. I love collecting these books and am so thrilled to add this one to the rest of my collection.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

This series is always a joy to read, it’s a really nice introduction to well known people for little children. Of course the plot is always a little bit fast but that’s to be expected and it’s totally understandable.
This book here is about the singer and musician Stevie Wonder. I really like how the book shows his deep love for music and also his very natural talent for it. I believe it could be something inspirational for a lot of people reading this book.

I really love this series of books, and especially love how diverse the selection of people featured is! The art, as always, was really nice and I felt it suited the person! I've always admired Stevie Wonder, and I felt like this really highlighted all that he has done! Also, the baby Stevie with the sunglasses cracked me up so much I had to stop reading.

I love this series! While I have loved Stevie Wonder's music and sang his songs to my kids, I had never really learned much about him. In fact, I had no idea that he became famous so young! The illustrations are vibrant, beautiful and engaging, just like kids like them! I loved this book and continue to come back to this series again and again!

This was the cutest book!! It talks about Stevie Wonder, from when he was a baby until now. There were things in it that I didn't even realize about it. He received a record contract when he was 11!! There is so much more that you don't know that this book will tell you!!

I should stop being surprised how much info can be packed into a kid's book -- but I was surprised at how much I learned about Stevie Wonder, someone I grew up listening to. Love this series for the range of people it celebrates.

Another great addition to the series! My cubs love these books and often want to learn more about the people discussed. Perfect for any child's library and for classroom use!

Fabulous to see Stevie Wonder's incredible story brought to life for younger audiences. As is often the case with this series, the illustrations really help bring the story to life. I enjoyed reading this with my 6-year-old and great to show her the incredible things Stevie has been able to achieve. She's perhaps a little young to understand Motown and some of the music references but we still really enjoyed reading this together and it's also been great for her reading practice.

This title is another in this educative and enjoyable series by Ms. Sanchez Vegara. This time children get to meet Stevie Wonder in this appealingly illustrated title.

Readers watch as little Stevie goes from banging on pots and pans to playing the harmonica and piano to…becoming Stevie Wonder! It is indeed a wonderful journey and an inspiring one.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.

Growing up across the river from Detroit, Motown was a huge part of my life and I grew up listening to Stevie Wonder. I loved this addition to the "Little People, Big Dreams" series. Stevie was born premature and too much oxygen at birth caused him to go blind a few days after birth. That did not stop him. He felt and heard life around him. He was banging out rhythms on pots and pans when still an infant and had mastered the harmonica by the age of twelve. I actually went to youtube to listen to "Little Fingers" the song mentioned in the book that he played in the Motown Review. His parents supported his talent and career in music. He was tutored on the road and became close to his teacher. Stevie was a great humanitarian as well, especially helping those with sensory, mental and motor conditions. He was named Messenger of Peace by the UN. I loved the illustrations in this book. They are realistic and add much to the story. As always there is a timeline with a few wonderful photographs at the back of the book. This is another book that should be in all libraries. It would be great to use in music classrooms, to teach about biographies, following your dreams, perseverance and more.

There is always something to learn from these fascinating mini-biographies, whether they are about historic figures or more current role-models in various fields: art, sport, music, science. It was great to find out more about this outstanding musician, his roots and his passion for music. Stevie Wonder's commitment to promoting peace is also something young readers should know about.
I really enjoyed Melissa Lee Johnson's illustrations in this biography and will be looking forward to seeing more of her artwork.
Thank you to NetGalley and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the review copy. All opinions aremy own and were not influenced in any way.

Simple and brightly colored illustrations and a condensed bio from childhood to the reason for inclusion in this landmark series is what makes each story so valuable to young, old, reading impaired, and ESL alike.
Stevie would have become a terrific entertainer no matter what, but his lack of visual sight made his composing and piano playing even more remarkable. Especially since he's been a pro since he was TEN! This one seems to have a higher word count than some and the illustrations are more complex.

Latest in the Little People, BIG DREAM series of biographies. Sanchez Vegara introduces elementary level readers to Stevie Wonder. She takes them on a journey from his birth through discovery of his musical ability to being one of the youngest Motown stars to his current superstar status. The language is easy to follow and the illustrations help readers visualize his life. I particularly like the diverse representation in the artwork. A timeline provided at the end of the book offers further information.

As I've said many times, I love this series.
This one is about Stevie Wonder, and shows how people with disabilities can do amazing things!

An important read for kids!

This was a simplistic biography of Stevie Wonder. I really enjoy the books in this series. They are good at giving the basics and having the reader pick points where they want to learn more. If you are looking for a complete biography with details, this is not the book. But for young kids, this would be a good way to introduce biographies.

While wandering around NetGalley, I stumbled across this awesome new board book series for babies and toddlers. The vibrant, yet simple, covers displaying historical women that I have grown up learning caught my eye, and it instantly drew me to pick up a few of these books off the shelves. To be totally honest, I was so intrigued by these books that I ended up sitting right down to explore this new nonfiction board book series.

Through my reading and my post-reading research, I have learned that Little People, Big Dreams is a new series that focuses on introducing the youngest of readers to amazing, wonderful women that have influenced the world. Each book is purposely designed in order to highlight one woman who has made a difference in the world. It tells the story of that women's dream and how she was able to make her dream come true despite the biggest of obstacles.

I loved the simplicity of the design of the series, Little People, Big Dreams. The authors and illustrators who have worked on this project clearly understand their audience, and they have made each of the books reflect exactly what they want their youngest of readers to be exposed to. Designed for babies and toddlers, Little People, Big Dreams uses simple text and engaging pictures to tell the story of each woman in a kid-friendly manner.

Often times, my biggest complaint with board books is that they lack plots or messages. Even though board books are purposely designed for babies and toddlers, I absolutely believe they still need to be strong examples of books that contain both strong plots and messages. All age levels of children need to have access to great text.

I loved how Little People, Big Dreams designed their biography series for baby and preschool readers. There are not many nonfiction book series out there. This series is absolutely helping to pave the way to push the norm for what we typically think of when we think of baby books. Little People, Big Dreams series is a positive example of how even our youngest readers can read and learn from awesome books!

This time about the icon I love so much, Stevie Wonder. Who doesn't know him or at least one of his songs? Born normal and went blind in a few days, this amazing person can keep his cheerfulness and spread happiness. Such an astounding career boost my confidence that even someone we saw as handicapped, can do marvelous things.

We love music in our house and I try to expose the boys to a wide variety of music across genres so we were excited about the opportunity to check out the new Stevie Wonder book in the Little People Big Dreams series. This picture book talks about the life of Stevie Wonder. We learn how he became blind within days of being born. He soon discovered a love for music and was signed at a young age as a Motown artist. He went on to have a string of hits and has won multiple awards. He is also an inspiration to those with disabilities. We loved all the pictures and the timeline at the end of the book, which included photographs of Stevie throughout his life.

Of course we had to listen to some Stevie Wonder during and after reading this one!

Stevie Wonder is another great addition to this marvellous non-fiction biographical series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara.

Stevie Wonder is one interesting man, so it was only a matter of time before he'd join this miraculous series about famous people and their incredible lives. He became blind not long after he was born (which was something I didn't know - I thought he might have went blind further on into his life) and was a bang-a-ranging, little rock star. He signed a music contract when he was very young and then off to the races he went! Eventually, he became the exciting singer we know today and eventually got his own Epic Rap Battle of History (which isn't in this book, but hey - the more you know).

The illustrations in this book feel very fitting for the story, and are one of the better sets of illustrations for this whole series (in my opinion).

I think this book is an excellent addition to any child's book shelf. Children aged four and up could easily enjoy a cool book like this.

Four out of five stars.

I was quite excited to see a book introducing the younger generation to the greatness that is Stevie Wonder. This book captures the story of his life perfectly. And as is always the case in the series, the illustrations were wonderful, bright and happy.

I didn't know very much about Stevie's path to stardom and, while most of this contains what I already knew, it continues in the now-great tradition of Vegara quickly showing why these people are so special.

It reveres Stevie, his connection to music, and his efforts to bring everyone together. Once again, even though this series is aimed at kids, it's just as potent for adults.

The artwork continues to mesmerize and produce rich scenes that make revisiting this book near-effortless.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Quarto Publishing Group, and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the advance review.

What a treat to read this “little bio” (for young readers) of one of my fav musicians, part of the beloved Little People, BIG DREAMS! series. It’s a remarkable look with terrific illustrations at Stevie Wonder’s wild success from an early age.

He was blind from shortly after birth, musically talented from a young age, master musician, songwriter and performer, and a supporter of the cause of justice. Highly recommended for young readers who will be inspired by the legend who signed his first recording contract with Motown at age 11.

Stevie Wonder is another amazing instalment in the Little People Big Dreams series. These books are amazing for children - they give short biography stories about inspirational people (who are well known so parents/carers/teachers can enjoy them too) who have made a difference in the world - in Stevie Wonders case its the music world and what he's done for people with sensory and physical disabilities too. These books are an absolute delight to read, I just adore them so much.

I read this book with my 10 and 7 year old girls. They love nonfiction and learning about important people in our history. This book led to some great discussions with my kids about musicians, people with vision impairments, and more. I also brought this ARC to my students at school. I used it to have them answer comprehension questions. They also asked a lot of questions. This book had a great amount of information to not be overwhelming, as well as to learn, without going super in depth. Great for our shorter reading blocks. Love these books!

The exceptional Little People, BIG DREAMS series prides itself on providing child-friendly biographies of renowned public figures and celebrities and in this, the fifty-sixth book in the series, we explore the life and times of prominent singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder. This potted biography runs from his birth, early years and the beginning of his love affair with music right through to today. It’s written in such an empowering fashion that gives children the message that they can achieve their dreams whatever they may be and shows that even with a disability you can overcome adversity.

What's impressive is there is just enough here to enable a child to become curious yet not enough to overwhelm, and the colourful, fun illustrations complement the text perfectly. It's an educational and entertaining read that empowers young ones to pursue their dreams without limits and inspires children to dream bigger and realise their fullest potential, by introducing them to extraordinary people throughout history. It's a wonderfully engaging and simple to understand book that also helps kids with literacy and fosters an enjoyment of reading. You simply cannot go wrong with this series in general as everything is executed perfectly and tailored beautifully to youngsters. Highly recommended.

'Stevie Wonder" by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara with art by Melissa Lee Johnson is another book in the great Little People, BIG IDEAS series.

Stevie Wonder became blind a few days after his birth, but that didn't stop him from hearing the music around him and wanting to be a part of it. At the age of 11, he signed a contract with Motown, and was the youngest artist to top the charts. The rest is history.

I've enjoyed how this series distills biographies to the level of young readers. The art is always different, and I loved Melissa Lee Johnson's bright, colorful approach here.

Little People, Big Dreams is an outstanding series. This is an incredible book about Stevie Wonder. Stevie was just a young child when he yearned to be a singer.

He was blinded, but this never stops Stevie Wonder from becoming a sensational success and entertaining so many of us with his talent. We are lucky to have his outstanding work in this world.

I highly recommend this book for schools, libraries, and book stores. All children need to know that their dreams can become a reality. The illustrations are outstanding, too. They make the books unique.
