This was a fantastic follow-up to the first book: Bloodmark. The author did a great job at weaving an intricate plot. The story and setting were richly imagined. I loved the romance between Ashling and Grey. The friendships and familial relationships were also well written. I cried more than once from the emotions the book evoked in me. I'm absolutely dying to read the conclusion to this trilogy. Five glittery stars!

Oh my gosh this book was better than the first! And that hardly happens with sequels. I was intrigued with this world like I was with the fuest. Plot and characters and setting were fantastic, as the first one too. Really loved this book.

This book was just epic! I know is use these phrases a lot but you just have to read it to know exactly what I mean. The book started off slow with the courting and all that but it picked up pace soo quick I was tongue tied by the events. I really, really liked Brychan and I was rooting for him but to be honest I absolutely love Grey. And even though he and Ashling were reckless now and again nothing prepared me for the rush of emotion and worry I felt when they got trapped in the bloodrealm. The fact that Verci and Vidgis even made an appearance made the story soo much more complicated. Towards the end after all Ashling endured when she spoke to the pack and the bloodsuckers there seemed to be a certain level of maturity and wisdom in her words as she finally accepts the prophecy of being the crimson queen. The book ended on a slight downer but I just know that book 3 will be explosive. Go on give this series a try you wont be disappointed.

Loved it! Lots of action and adventure in this one. No slow, boring, middle book here. I'm glad Ashling finally found her voice and realized her strength. Can't wait to read book 3.
