Description

Achieve perfect gut health and optimize your wellbeing with this revolutionary 30-day healing program

It is now widely recognized that gut health is critical to our overall health and that many major health concerns can be linked to an irritated or unhealthy gut. In fact, an unhealthy gut contributes to a wide range of chronic health disorders such as autoimmune conditions, Crohn's syndrome, irritable bowel, allergies, arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, and mood swings. What's worse, gut health issues affect a huge proportion of people and are often on-going and difficult to resolve.

But it does not have to be this way. In this revolutionary 30-day program, nutritionist Christine Bailey shows you how, instead of treating the symptoms as they arise, you can tackle the root causes with five simple steps: Remove, Replace, Repopulate, Repair and Rebalance. This program will help you to remove the underlying factors wreaking damage to your gut, restore digestive health, quench inflammation, heal the gut for good—and achieve true, long-lasting health.

Her plan encompass not one diet but utilizes the "key elements" of several, including the low FODMAP, SCD (Specific Carbohydrate Diet), GAPS (Gut Psychology Syndrome) and Paleo.

Her approach is thorough without being rigid, a healing approach in and of itself. I especially liked the "Gut Benefits" section included with each recipe.

I am already fantasizing about cooking her "Braised Chicken with Green Olives and Preserved Lemon." Food that is good for my gut and thrilling to my tastebuds!

I think this will be a valuable book for anyone struggling with long term digestive problems. I’ve had problems for years, and it wasn’t until I started to completely change my diet that I experienced huge improvements.

For me personally, I didn’t get much out of this book, as it turns out I’ve pretty much tried everything mentioned. However, that does put me in the position to confirm that these changes do work.

This book covers a variety of digestive symptoms, so you can choose the options and changes that best suit you personally.

The main things that helped me was cutting out gluten, yeast, cow’s milk (I seem okay with butter and hard cheese), onions and garlic (okay with a small amount of chives). I also only consume small amounts of refined sugar, caffeine and alcohol. My doctor was impressed when we were discussing what I did and didn’t eat, and it turned out I was following the low FODMAP diet without even knowing what it was. I do now eat a few foods that are high FODMAP, but still find my symptoms are more settled if I don’t have high FODMAP fruit and vegetables too often or in too high quantities.

There are also tips on supplements that may be useful, and I can say that a few of these have worked very well for me too.

Lots of great recipes are included in this book, and I have made a note of a few I would like to try myself.

Having ME/CFS, I still feel far from well, but having a natural, healthy diet and avoiding foods that increase unpleasant symptoms, while also taking supplements to help support my digestion, has not only helped with digestive symptoms, but reduced headaches, generalised pain, insomnia and night sweats, many of which return if I dare to go near gluten, yeast, onions or garlic.

I read a Kindle version of this book, but I think this would work better as a physical book, as it would be easier to navigate and jump to and from pages you require.

I would like to thank the publisher, Nourish for allowing me a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Recently , several books have come out about gut health and the importance of diet to help with problems. if you have been looking for a book to learn more about this, your search is over! This comprehensive book takes a look at the symptoms you have and offers some easy tweaks: some of them are as simple as drinking water with lemon juice or adding easy to prepare foods.

The book includes a food plan to remove problems, and then bring back balance. The book is full of recipes for everything from Almond milk to bread.

This is comprehensive guide is definitely worth trying.

A very comprehensive book about improving intestinal health. As one who has suffered for years I found this resource very enlightening. The author has provided sensible eating guides, receipes and life changes anyone can do with ease. I am very impressed with the depth of research here and highly recommend this excellent book. Thank you for such a outstanding body of work on intestinal health. Well done.

This book contains two main sections. The first section is on gut health.
It is relatively short and while it contains useful information most of it wasn't new for me.
The next section on recipes was quite useful. It contained many healthy recipes that met numerous healthy gut criteria (e.g. SCD, low FODMAP). Since my diet already contains many of these restrictions this book is a one of a kind blessing. My only recipe complaint is that several of the recipes do contain sweetners (which are usually the better ones like xylitol).

This is a great, comprehensive book on changing your diet to improve your health from the gut out. I have struggled with dietary issues for many years and have tried every diet under the sun to improve my health. Bailey's approach is one of the best. In the beginning chapters, she details what you should eat/avoid and why. The why is the most important aspect.
When I first started removing certain foods from my diet, I hated it. They were perfectly "normal" foods and were even things that were considered part of a "well balanced" diet. Once I started to find out all the ways these foods actually harm me, I stopped craving them. Before I eat something bad for me I stop and think "is it worth it?" and usually my answer is no. Bailey's book gives you the facts to help you make these decisions too.
The best part, of course, is the delicious recipes that make healthy food more appetizing. They are delicious and great for healing your gut. I must warn the newbies though, you will need a kitchen scale. Most of the recipes are in grams/ounces versus cups. You will have to weigh your ingredients, but that is more accurate anyway. There were also a few ingredients that even I did not keep stocked in my pantry.
Overall, this is a great book for those of us with health issues!

Fantastic! Just fantastic! I loved every recipe and everything Christine Bailey had to say about gut health. I wouldn't say it was an eye opener for me, as I am very well educated in this area, but to hear it from someone else was wonderful.

I've been looking for more recipes to help improve my digestion and overall gut flora and my family's of course, and this book helped me with that. I don't need to look any further. However, that being said, there were a lot of recipes in it that I already use (kombucha, kefir, cashew cheese, lemon/ginger tea, etc etc. But the one's I've never made were quite delicious and will become staples in my house.
