Description

You do the same thing every day.
You know exactly where you're going.
You're not alone.

When Zoe Walker sees her photo in the classifieds section of a London newspaper, she is determined to find out why it's there. There's no explanation: just a grainy image, a website address and a phone number. She takes it home to her family, who are convinced it's just someone who looks like Zoe. But the next day the advert shows a photo of a different woman, and another the day after that.

Is it a mistake? A coincidence? Or is someone keeping track of every move they make . . .

I See You is an edge-of-your-seat, page-turning psychological thriller from the author of I Let You Go - one of the most exciting and successful British debut talents of 2015

I let You Go had to be one of the most talked about books last year due to the belter of a twist that left most readers reeling in shock. I for one absolutely loved it and was extremely excited when I saw that she was bringing another novel out.

I have to admit I was slightly worried whether the author could write another novel to the same extremely high bar that she set with I Let You Go, well after reading it I can confidently say 'oh yes', boy has she gone and done it again.

The story feels like a cross between a psychological thriller and a crime thriller. There's Zoe who seems to be some sort of victim to some strange going ons that make her feel paranoid and a nervous wreck, then there's also Kelly, a police officer who manages to wangle herself onto a case that she thinks has something to do with what is also happening to Zoe.

I really liked Kelly and I think because of her character it leaves the door open for more books following her in her career in the police force. What I loved about her is how passionate she is to get justice. Sometimes she over steps the mark but you can tell she means well and I liked the closeness between Kelly and Zoe and how much trust they both put in each other.

I See You is a brilliant edge or your seat, whilst biting your nails read. It's one of those novels that will have you second guessing everything and questioning every characters intentions. I honestly didn't know whether I was coming or going and by the end I felt exhilarated and exhausted as I had been that wrapped up in the story.

If like me you loved and were blown away by the authors debut, then make yourself comfortable and hold on tight for yet another heart pounding roller coaster of a read.

My thanks to the publishers for letting me read a proof copy which I was so excited about receiving I think I may have wet myself slightly as I Let You go was one of my top 10 books last year. I was concerned that Clare Mackintosh might not be able to produce a book as brilliant as her debut novel but within the first couple of chapters it was obvious she has. A thrilling and gripping page turner which was totally believable and frightening plausible throughout. I devoured this over 2 days. 5 stars and highly recommended by me.
