This is a new to me author and the description of the book sounded very good. Melissa McBallister is a writer, or at least she is striving to be. It seems she is in a slump and her writing just isn't happening. When she is offered a spot on a reality show, Mel hopes to recharge her mind so her writing ideas come out. The other cast members are a bit full of themselves and Mel find them petty and childish. When one particular cast member is found dead, everyone points their finger at Mel.
Mel will stop at nothing to clear her name and get out of this awful mess.
I enjoyed this book and once I got into it, it was hard to put down.
The author created some colorful characters and my favorite is Prudence. She was a riot and I loved the parts she was in. I think the author created a great story and I enjoyed meeting the characters in the story. I hope there will be others in the series.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my fair and honest review

A fun, light story that follows a Real Housewives type reality show after a murder occurs onset. I really enjoyed the reality show aspect to the book, though I wish the author went in to more details about the characters before the murder occurred. Overall, a good read.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Fun new series from Nikki Haverstock. While I do enjoy her archery series, I have to admit I like this one even better. Love the big dog in the archery series and the little dog in this one adds to the entertainment. Melissa is a writer still finding her way when given the opportunity to appear in a reality TV series. I don't watch reality TV, but reading about it is hilarious. A hint of romance has potential or not. Her family's resort and the people in this two season tourist town should provide interesting fodder for the future books. I look forward to reading more of Melissa's adventures.

Melissa McBallister doesn’t consider herself famous, she’s been a ghostwriter on a couple of books but really wants to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a famous author. When her family looks into having their property featured on a new reality television show though the show offers her a spot on the cast and after meeting sexy Ryan Sethi, the producer, Melissa immediately jumps at the opportunity but when a castmate ends up murdered Melissa is the prime suspect and needs to clear her name.

Lights, Camera, Murder by Nikki Haverstock was an enjoyable little cozy mystery. The story is set around a reality television show, the Savvy Socialites of Fishcreek Falls, being filmed in the small ski town where Melissa lives. My best guess is the premise of the show being filmed seems to be similar to the Real Housewives type of reality television but I’ve never actually watched those myself. The idea though seems to be to get the ladies in the cast together and hope for some drama to happen.

It’s a lighthearted type of cozy mystery often having some pretty humorous moments as the story built up to the murder to be solved. But I will say I would have liked to have the actual action and case start a bit sooner. If the official synopsis and the whole idea of a “cozy mystery” didn’t hint at a murder I wouldn’t even mention it in a review since it doesn’t take place until the midway point of the book which is a bit slow getting to the nitty gritty of the story for my taste.

Overall, I found this one an entertaining read and think fans of cozy mysteries would enjoy this one even if it did have a bit slow of a start.

Love every Nikki Haverstock book so far.
Laughed all the way through the entire tale. The characters are awesome and the little dog stills the show. Can't wait for a second installment of this series.

Light and funny- an enjoyable quick read that spoofs reality tv and introduces some interesting characters. I had not read Haverstock before so thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. There's nothing really unexpected in this but Haverstock is a good storyteller and it zips along. You'll like this if you watch reality TV or like mysteries that wrap in behind the scenes info. Recommend for cozy readers looking for something a little different.

Lights, Camera, Murder by Nikki Haverstock is the 1st book in the Reality TV Cozy Mysteries series. When I first began this book, I didn't know if I would like it. Melissa McBallister, the protagonist, seems to be drunk all the time and whiny. I glad I stuck it out, because I really started to enjoy her character as the book went on. Melissa, an author, struggles with not being as successful as her mother, who is a best selling author, agrees to be on a reality show. When someone related to the show is murdered, Melissa must find the truth, before she is arrested.

I can not wait to read the next book in the series, I want to know what happens with the characters, the sooner the better. This book has more twists and turns, that kept me reading page after page, after I got past the beginning. Just when I thought I figured out the murderer, I was wrong. I found this book to be a quick read, with a well developed plot and characters. If you love cozy mysteries with some romance thrown in, I strongly recommend this book.
