"To Cast a Cliche" is a cute short (very short) story about Lucinda, who after being portrayed as a cliche but William Writer, casts a spell upon the kingdom to be subjected to colloquialisms/cliches. Her stepson, the king, rights the kingdom upon his return and punishes her with the same. It's cute, quick and light, an original modern day fairytale. It would be really cute as a picture book and is good for all ages. I wish that they had included which cliches the townspeople were acting out, as I don't think I got all of them, but it's still fun and comical, even if you don't get all of them. I'd definitely read again and recommend for everyone! Please note that I received this book from the publisher through netgalley.
