Neal Bertrand was born and reared in Opelousas, Louisiana, in the heart of Cajun Country. He is by no means a professional cook. He has had no culinary training. He had only cooked one meal, a jambalaya, in his rice cooker before starting this project. But by getting in the kitchen and experimenting for several months, Rice Cooker Meals: Fast Home Cooking for Busy People has come to life. He had more than a decade of experience in the publishing business before publishing his first cookbook. He is the founder and owner of Cypress Cove Publishing in Lafayette, Louisiana.
