Description

“Assured, compelling, and hypnotically readable—with a twist at the end I guarantee you won’t see coming” (New York Times bestselling author Lee Child), T. M. Logan’s debut psychological thriller dissects a troubled marriage straight to the marrow as one man separates the truth from the Lies

Six days ago, Joe Lynch was a happily married man, a devoted father, and a respected teacher living in a well-to-do London suburb. But that was before he spotted his wife’s car entering a hotel parking garage. Before he saw her in a heated argument with her best friend’s husband. Before Joe confronted the other man in an altercation where he left him for dead, bleeding and unconscious.

Now, Joe’s life is unraveling. His wife has lied to him. Her deception has put their entire family in jeopardy. The man she met at the hotel has vanished. And as the police investigate his disappearance, suspicion falls on Joe.

Unable to trust the woman he loves, Joe finds himself at the mercy of her revelations and deceits, unsure of who or what to believe. All he knows is that her actions have brought someone dangerous into their lives—someone obsessed with her and determined to tear Joe’s world apart.

What if your whole life was based on LIES?

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to preview LIES. Wow - This book captivated me from page 1 till the end.
Joe Lynch is an ordinary guy - he has a wife, child, good job, and all is well in his world. That's until one day when he is driving and sees his wife with one of their friends in a parking garage. Joe doesn't know what's going on, but he intends to find out. This detour changes Joe's life the way he knows it. If you could change one thing you did in the course of a day in hindsight, you just might do it and Joe Lynch wishes he never followed his wife into that parking garage.
This is fast paced, written in first person POV, and takes the reader on Joe's roller coaster ride. One day he is a ordinary man, and the next he is a fugitive wanted for murder.
Logan does a great job getting the reader invested in the plot immediately and with a surprise ending, readers will be engaged till the very end.
My first book by Logan, and not my last. Recommend.

Joe Lynch makes a quick decision to follow his wife’s care one day when he and his young son see her in traffic. When he catches up to her in a parking garage, she’s arguing with Ben, the husband of one of her friends. Joe gets out to assist his wife and the fight escalates, with Ben being knocked unconscious. Joe has to leave then, because his son has an asthma attack that needs immediate medical attention. When Joe comes back later, both Ben and his car are gone. Now, the father and husband is in the middle of a nightmare, he gets threatening texts from Ben, while at the same time Ben’s wife reports him missing. This is one wild read! Ben is a little too trusting, but the story is pure dynamite!

This book! I was trying to piece things together the whole time. That twist! I never saw it coming! I give this book 5 stars and a strong recommendation.

In T.M. Logan's Lies, due for publication in September 2018, Joe Lynch is driving his young son Will home from school one afternoon when he sees his wife Mel's car pull into an underground hotel parking garage. At his son's urging, he follows her. From this relatively simple beginning, the story takes off like a rocket, with twists and turns building suspense and confusion almost faster than the reader -- or the main character -- can keep up. Special mention for the way in which modern technology and social media propel the plot forward to its chilling and shocking conclusion. Five very well deserved stars for this compelling debut that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could right to the very end.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for providing me with an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

WOW! It’s not often that a book leaves me speechless, but "Lies" certainly did. By the time the big reveal occurred (as it always does in psych thrillers) my jaw was hanging open and I couldn’t read fast enough! I really cannot say enough good things about this book. I loved that it was told from a male point of view, which is very different from many other psychological thrillers these days. I thought the plot was tightly written and there were no questions left unanswered; everything was “resolved” in the end. I especially liked the way the author wove a commentary about technology into the story, without preaching to the reader. Through Joe, the main character, we see how reliant we have become on the tech around us, and how that reliance can enable both good and bad events. A stand-out among psychological thrillers, and I can’t wait to read more from this author!

I honestly didn't think this would be my kind of novel, but I was pulled into it immediately. It's smart, tough, and really beautifully written, a novel to remind us that popular fiction can still occasionally be more than just popular. Absolutely superb.

LIES by T M Logan.
The tension starts at the beginning, a four year old boy who knows his cars. Seeing one that is his Mommy’s car, Lee decides to follow and surprise her. The surprise was shattering, the situation was wrong, a man they knew why was he angry. Disaster in the parking lot, now what to do. My son needed me, and my wife not answering her cell, and now I lost my cell phone. Ten years and now she is lying to me.
What follows will grip you to the end, of a lie that was never suspected, or the people involved. Would there be a life after for any of them, and what was behind it all, or was he a pawn in their game. A new author and without a doubt will look for more more. The plot didn’t drag, the characters were vivid in detailed. Given ARC by Net Galley and St Martens Press for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

WOW - WOW - WOW!!! What a Psychological Thriller this book is!!! It just goes to show, do we really ever know someone well? Such was the case with Joe Lynch. He and his young son William were on their way home, when William happened to see Mummy’s car. Joe thought he was mistaken. What would his wife be doing pulling into a garage of a hotel? Then he realized that it was definitely her car. So he followed it. He even tried to call her, but the call went to voicemail. He took William inside looking for her and finally saw her with a friend of theirs, Ben Delaney. They both seemed very much into the conversation, and Ben was very animated and looked pretty upset. Joe didn’t interrupt them, because he needed to get William back to the car. He waited for his wife, in the garage, but before he could get her attention, by calling “Mel,” she was already in the car and had left the garage. An altercation ensued with Ben, that was totally unnecessary on Ben’s part. Joe pushed him away, Ben fell and cracked his head. Joe saw blood, and then he sees William standing there staring, fighting for breath. Does he see if Ben is okay, or does he rush off and get William’s asthma under control? He does what any Father would do. He races off to a pharmacy to get an inhaler for his sons asthma. Then he races back to the hotel, and finds that Ben and his Porsche are no where to be found. Later when Mel arrives home, he asks her if she was at the hotel, and he was surprised at her response. She said, No, she was at tennis. He had never known her to lie to him. Why would she lie? Was she having an affair with Ben? Then the Facebook posts start showing up, as if he is posting on FB. Someone had hacked his account. Joe decided to change his password to take care of that. He starts getting taunting text messages from Ben. Things really start to spiral out of control. Bens wife contacts the police and reports Ben missing. The Police start their investigation by interviewing anyone associated with Ben. Joe and Mel are among those interviewed. He and Mel had gone over what they were going to tell the police. The school where he teaches, had decided to protect the reputation of the school, and suspends him until everything has been settled. Things are definitely not what they seem. The police start to build a case against Joe. All of his technological equipment had been confiscated, and Joe is forced to hire an attorney. Where is Ben? Is Mel having an affair with him? Why does he keep getting messages from Ben? This book was by far one of the best psychological thriller mysteries I have read. I did not want to put this book down!!! The plot was definitely genius. The character development was magnificent!! The police procedures were definitely on point!! The ending definitely surprised me!! I certainly did not see it coming!! I cannot wait for the next book by this author. What a GREAT book this was - I read it into the early morning hours!!!

I could not put this book down! So many plot twists and turns and I did not see the ending coming. If I hadn't been so tired, I think I would have finished this in one sitting. Clearly an author that needs to be noticed and watched.

I received a free copy of Lies by T. M. Logan from NetGalley for my unbiased review. I am not sure I would have
picked up this book on my own, but once I started reading the book, I could not put it down.
Joe Lynch is a part-time English teacher and full-time dad. He and his son, William, were going home one evening when William spotted his mother's car in traffic. What happens next is a start of a cat-and-mouse game, murder-without-a-body game showing how easily it is to be followed and stalked on today's social media and electronic devices. The author's choice of writing the novel in Joe's first-person .narrative was spot-on and even had me beginning to wonder if he was losing his grip on reality. My only criticism of the book was that it ended too abruptly; I would have liked to have had a little more information about what happened at the end of the reveal scene. Still I am giving this book 5 stars and will be looking for other novels by this author.

A fabulous book that will keep you on the edge of your seat every step of the way! Couldn't put this one down! Joe is a good man, loving father, and devoted husband. After being the wrong place at the right time, everything he thought he knew begins to fall apart. An incredible story, filled with lies and betrayal, persistence and some incredible twists! My first book by this author and I'll surely be back for more!

I was bowled over by this novel and stayed up until 2 AM reading because it had grabbed me by the throat and wouldn't let go. Joe Lynch's son William likes playing with toy cars and pointing out different models when they are driving. On the way back from school pickup one afternoon William is describing the cars he says. Look, Mommy's car, he says. Joe checks and sure enough it is Mommy's car so he follows it. She turns into an underground hotel parking lot. Joe follows her into the hotel and sees her in a heated altercation with a family friend, Ben. Joe returns to his car and waits. His wife Mel returns and drives away. Shortly after Ben turns up. Joe gets out and confronts him, asking him why he was meeting with Mel. Ben tells Joe he is a no-nothing underachiever and assaults him. Joe, who is taller and bigger, pushes Ben who falls to the concrete and passes out with blood flowing from his ear. Just as Joe is going to call for assistance his son William has an asthma attack and Joe searches desperately for his inhaler. Unable to find it he drives home frantically to get an inhaler and save William.

When he returns to the hotel parking lot to check on Ben, Ben is nowhere to be found. He and his car are gone. A couple of days later Ben is still missing. Then Joe starts to receive emails from Ben telling him that Ben has been having an affair with Mel and Joe discovers evidence on Mel's phones which indicates that this is true. He confronts Mel who admit to the infidelity.

Joe sets up a meeting with Ben. "Ben" appears in the distance carrying a shotgun but disappears before Joe can speak with him. Ben's wife Beth reports to the police that Ben is missing. The police start investigating and begin to suspect that Joe has murdered Ben in a jealous rage. More evidence begins to appear supporting this suspicion. Joe and the reader are convinced that Ben who runs a tech company is framing Joe and doing an excellent job of it.

Joe keeps digging to find Ben. But what he discovers ultimately is far more disturbing. There is indeed a frame up underway but Wow Joe and we are hit with a bang as we learn what has really been going on.

I look forward to reading the author's second novel.

Lies was a thrilling ride from start to finish! A wonderfully complex and exciting debut novel!
Joe thought he had a perfect life: perfect wife, perfect son...but it all turned out to be lies on top of lies! One day Joe discovered accidentally that the perfect life he thought he had wasn't quite as perfect as he had imagined.
A psychological thriller with a surprise ending, Lies keeps the reader guessing right up until the very end...who exactly is telling the truth and who isn't!? Personally, I couldn't set this book down until I reached the last page and discovered the answer to this question for myself!!

What happens when you tell one little lie and everyone else around you is also telling lies. Of course, no one realizes this until it's too late. What happens when you discover that a whole chunk of your life has been a total lie.

This happens to Joe. He's a teacher, a husband, a father, a friend - he lives an everyday life until one little lie blossoms into something that will ruin his life. Someone is setting him up for one massive fall and he doesn't know who. He has an idea and he follows through on this until almost too late - when he realizes that things are not quite as he figured them out.

As a reader, I was invested in Joe's life. The further I got into the book the more I liked him. The suspense in this book is as tight as a tightly strung wire. I had the same thoughts as Joe did about who was setting him up but as Joe was wrong, so was I. The book reaches a smashing climax and unlike some books, there is follow-up as to what happens to each character in the book. If I could give more than 5 stars to Mr. Logan, I certainly would.

Lies is a gripping unputdownable crime thriller. I was hooked from the very first page.

Joe Lynch is an all-around good guy. He loved his wife, Mel, their four-year-old son, William, and their life together. Since Mel, had the highest paying job between the two of them, Joe was happy to take on most of William’s childcare. While out with William, Joe discovered his wife, Mel having a heated discussion with their friend, Ben, in a hotel restaurant. Joe trusted Mel’s fidelity. But, was concerned, as to why his friend, Ben, was so angry with her. Joe was happy being married to his wife, or at least he was, until, his world turned upside-down.

When Mel initially denied meeting Ben at the hotel, Joe felt crushed. Why was she lying to him? When Joe pressed for the truth, Mel confessed her rendezvous, with Ben. She explained it away, as an innocent work-related meeting. Joe felt guilty then, for questioning her, and Ben. He also wished that he hadn’t shoved his friend to the ground. Joe hated that he’d left Ben unconscious, and bleeding, but at the time, William started to have an asthma attack, and Joe needed to take care of his son. When Ben’s wife reported her husband missing, Joe’s life became sticky, especially when fingers started to point at him.

When a picture of Joe in handcuffs went viral, Joe was placed on administrative leave, from his job. Mel apologized a hundred times to Joe and pleaded for forgiveness. His life was spinning out of control. Joe was on the verge of losing everything; even his son was afraid of him. He was being framed for a crime, he didn’t commit, and didn’t know how to stop the accusations, before, it was too late.

This is a perfectly paced crime thriller with lots of twists and surprises. Although I didn’t find the book entirely realistic, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I finished the book in one day.

Thank you, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley, for my advanced review copy. I loved it.

I am not familiar with T.M Logan's work and that is a huge negative thing for me.
While reading this book, I found myself telling my husband on a number of occasions to stop talking because I was so immersed in it.
great book with Twists and Turns on almost every page.

So may lies, twists and turns I couldn't put this one down!

Joe Lynch loves his life, his wife Melissa (Mel) & their son William. Beth Delaney is Mels' oldest friend and her husband Ben is part of the package. When Joe suddenly finds himself spinning out of control over the disappearance of Ben, it is a series of unraveling lies that prove the case against Joe.

This book kept me in such suspense that I cheated and skipped ahead a dozen chapters to the end so I could catch some sleep before finishing the book! I never do that!!

Joe Lynch is Mr. Guy next door. He spends much of his time caring for his young son Wills, when he's not teaching high school English. On an ordinary day driving home, Wills spots his Mum's vehicle turning into a local hotel. The events that follow will leave you on the edge of your seat and unable to put this masterpiece down! LIES by T.M. Logan has a major stand apart from the typical psychological thriller... the main character is MALE. I haven't rooted for a main character this deeply since Gone Girl. Logan did a superb job developing Joe Lynch and turning him into someone readers would love and want to see succeed.

This is a debut psychological thriller written from the protagonist’s point of view. From the outset Joe is manipulated by an external force, in this case his four year old son, William who he is driving home after school. Spying ‘Mummy’s car’, William persuades Joe to follow Mummy and give her a surprise. From such happenstance follows a rollercoaster of lies and deceit because Joe sees his wife Melissa meet (and argue) with Ben, their friend in a hotel. Joe challenges Ben and an altercation breaks out leaving Ben prostrate and bleeding on the car park floor. Meanwhile, William has a severe asthma attack and Joe drives home quickly to get his inhaler. On returning to the car park, Ben has disappeared.

The background is set. On the one hand there is Joe, a nice enough man in love with his wife and devoted to his son. He is the dependable one, not particularly ambitious, doing the bulk of the childcare while Melissa is a bit of a high flyer. Their friend Ben has a different social standing because Ben is the millionaire, hard-headed, bullish businessman; all in all, a bit flash. Whilst Beth, his wife is the happy, contented, stay at home wife, controlled somewhat by her husband.

Step by step, the unravelling of Joe’s life evolves but there is another culprit associated with this and it is technology. Obviously someone is out to ruin Joe’s life and they do so through manipulation of his phones, google and Facebook.

So, what did I make of all this? I was totally immersed in the plot and the characters. In all honesty, sometimes I was exasperated by Joe (particularly in the first half of the book) and all due to his devotion to his wife – wake up and smell the coffee! Didn’t see how it would all turn out, not a clue! Absolutely loved it. If only there were another phrase to say ‘couldn’t put it down, a real page turner’. Read this, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for providing an ARC via my Kindle in return for an honest review.

A wonderful thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish!

A young father catches his wife meeting her best friend's husband in a hotel. She admits they had been having an affair and swears that it's over. Soon after, her lover goes missing and her husband is suspected of foul play. Convinced he's being framed, her husband goes on a desperate search to find the missing man before he is arrested.

WOW!! Just completed Lies in record time! Such a contemporary thriller in the age of social media this story is! I highly recommend it to mystery lovers, especially those whose lives are imbued with Facebook.

Set in England, this is the story of Jim and Mel, Ben and Beth. Sometimes in that order, and sometimes otherwise. A situation arises, and issues are muddled by lies. I was spellbound by the events. and held captive until the ending.

This book makes for fast reading. The chapters are short and manageable - great for those of us who can't sit for hours on end. There are a limited number of characters, so I didn't have to go back and reread to reacquaint myself the people.

Lies is one of the best books I've read this year, and I'll recommend it to all my bibliophiles!

REALLY WANTED TO RATE LOGAN's BOOK A THREE for the shivers it gave me. SPOOKY with no paranormal characters involved. But... I had to keep reading it and that is what makes a book get a FIVE STAR rating from me. If this is ever made into a movie it will keep the audience moving their heads from side to side to keep up with the twists and turns. LIES fills the pages with drama that things are not what they seem. It takes the reader on a journey with Joe Lynch, an all around good guy. I am not revealing anything in this review. Read the synopsis and enjoy! "A copy of this book was provided by St. Martin's Press via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion.

Lies, St. Martin's Press grabs you at the start and keeps grabbing until the final page. Four year old Will is riding with his dad, Joe, as Will spots his mom's car driving the other way. Joe turns the car around so the two of Joes
them can surprise Mel ( Joe's wife/Will's mom). But what they do spot is Mel with her friends' husbands at a hotel bar. Joe and Will hightail out of there before they are seen. Joe sees Ben as they are in the parking lot. Spewing derogatory comments and some shoving, Ben is demonstrating anger towards Joe. Joe merely pushes Ben off the curb. Ben trips and subsequently becomes unconscious. Meanwhile, Will needs an inhaler for an asthma attack so Joe takes him home. The both of them return to the parking garage and Ben and his car are gone! Ben belatedly realizes he lost his anniversary bracelet. Now he is wondering if he will be implicated in assault and/or murder. Facebook postings continue to haunt Joe as Joe also finds out that Mel kissed Ben at a drunken wedding. Supposedly, Joe has photos on his phone dating to 2 years ago. Mel lets on to Joe that Ben is clearly (and has been) stalking her for the past two years and that he wants Joe out of the "picture". Online pictures of Joe results in his suspension from his teaching position. The police will exonerate Joe if proof-of-life of Ben can be demonstrated. After debacles with the law, Joe takes it upon himself to find Ben. But first, Joe is arrested for the murder of Ben. What happens next is the mind-blowing sequences of events that follow to the dramatic conclusion. Exciting, suspenseful and good character development. A must read. Thank you to NetGallery and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to read this book!

A thrilling, fast-paced experience from start to finish, I found Lies by T.M.Logan absolutely satisfied my yearnings for a great suspense novel. Our well-meaning protagonist, Joe Lynch, finds himself returning in his mind to that one moment when everything changed, when he could have just kept on his usual path home—home to his simple, but gratifying life. Yet in that moment he impulsively turns as he happens to see his wife’s car pull into a parking garage. He takes what appears to be an innocent enough detour at the bequest of his young son who wants to surprise his mum with that day’s proud moment of an earned award from school. And in that split second decision Joe’s life begins to slowly spiral out of control— he descends down the rabbit hole created by lies, deceptions, and a betrayal that he never could have foreseen.

We’ve all had moments, haven’t we? Times in which forks in the road change our lives forever, where there’s no going back. And Joe’s moment may bring many to mind for the reader. But Joe’s moment is as extreme in the end as it starts out ordinary in the beginning. It pulls his life and his now vulnerable future into a world of chaos and intrigue that threatens to destroy everything dear to him. It is frighteningly paced saga in which all eyes begin to look accusingly at Joe— he is deserted by his friends, his colleagues, his lawyer, the police, and is suspicious of his wife, leaving him isolated and alone. His ability to unravel this mystery is his only hope to save his fate. It is the moment we all fear.

LIes is a well-written plot with plenty of twists and unpredictable turns, with characters developed to fully engross the reader in the story, flipping page after page to the very end. Enjoy!

A novel that tells the story of marriage infidelity from the husband's side. It begins rapidly with Joe Lynch, the husband of his beloved Melissa (Mel) driving home from work via a route he has taken countless times after picking up his son. By chance he spots Mel meeting another man and entering a hotel with him. Melissa has been his love interest starting when they were in their mid teens in high school. He eventually married her and considers himself the luckiest of men. And after eleven happy years and the arrival of a beautiful child he still looks upon himself as very fortunate. Joe makes the decision to confront the man Melissa met and does so. They quickly disintegrate into a physical match with Joe knocking the other man down. The man is actually an acquaintance of theirs with his own wife friendly with Mel.

Worried that he has hurt Ben, the other man, Joe turns back and decides to help him when his son experiences an asthma attack and must be attended to quickly. When he later returns to the hotel Ben is gone. In confronting Melissa about the meeting she finally admits that she has been having an affair for the past few months with Ben but swears up and down that it is now over and never to be repeated.

The problem is that Ben makes no appearance and the police enter the scene to make sure that Ben has not suffered foul play. A very well handled plot ensues with Joe trying to determine if he can bring himself to again be with Mel at the same time that the police appear to be more and more centered on Ben being killed. The fact that Joe caught him with Melissa is credible evidence that he did something to Ben.
The unfolding story is told in a very sure manner and the reader is caught up with what is seeming to transpire with Joe. Is he going to somehow come out of the predicament together with his beloved wife, or is he going to finally be arrested for murder? The mitigating factor in preventing an early arrest is that there is no body to be found. An all night hold - certainly and also one that is guaranteed to assure that the next novel by Mr Logan will find it's way into the reader's hands as soon as published.

I received a copy of LIES on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.

Five stars and here's why:

Serious book hanger. The author does a great job of sucking you right into the story and soon you’re glued to the pages. Hindsight’s twenty-twenty. Joe Lynch is just an ordinary guy until he’s suddenly not. When he accidently sees his wife with their friend in a parking garage, his curiosity gets the better of him. Soon his life unravels by a frayed thread. This book is a roller coaster ride, so hold onto your seat. TM Logan does a fantastic job with twists and turns and I honestly did not see the ending coming. I am eager to read more of this author’s work.

Prepare to start this story and not put it down until the very end. Highly recommend.

I want to thank St Martin’s Publishing (one of my favorite publishers) and Netgalley for letting me read this for my honest review.

Lies is a story about Joe who is driving home with his young son. On their way home, the son spots his wife’s car. Joe is surprised by this and their son Will of course wants to go see his mom. They follow his wife to soon find her in a hotel having what seems to be an arguement with a gentleman friend (Ben) of theirs. Joe tries to get his wife’s attention after they leave, but has no such luck. He runs into Ben and has a confrontation with him that changes his life forever. It just gets so crazy from there!

I shouldn’t have started this book when I did because WOW. It had me along for the ride right away. I got sucked into it so quickly, I forgot to breathe. I didn’t put it down until I finished it. These are my kind of novels! I was afraid I was reading it too quickly because I wasn’t sure I wanted the story to end. I devoured this. The character developement was wonderful. I felt for Joe, I truly did! I was as nervous as he was, if not more! Sometimes it would get annoying to see Joe being so trusting. I wanted to hit him in the head some times and say, “ugh, can’t you see what’s happening here?!” I guessed a few of the incidents that came up which were typical for a story like this. It is a super quick read. The chapters are short and leave you with cliff hangers so you keep going for more. It’s also written extremely conversational at times so I could almost read it like a play in my opinion. I really enjoyed the social media aspect to it because it’s something I totally could relate to. It’s creepy, but totally believable. The ending though, oh mannnn. What an ending! I predict this is going to be a top seller. I would love to read another novel by Logan!

5/5 Stars

What a fantastic thriller! Lies is chock-full with twists and turns that will have your head spinning! I went in expecting the unexpected, but seriously never saw any of twists coming- loved that! I enjoyed the way T.M. Logan unfolded the mystery throughout the novel— had me on the hook the entire book. I thought a couple of times that I had everything figured out, but I wasn’t even close! Lies is a 5 star gem that will blow your mind until the very end!

Lies grabbed me on the first page and never let go! Just when you think you know where things are headed, there is another lie and you are right back to square one wondering who, if anyone, can be trusted. This book will keep you guessing until the very end. It will also make you evaluate what your social media use.

LIES by T. M. Logan, makes you think extremely hard about what lies you're possibly living in your own marriage.
When one husband thinks his wife is having an affair with another man...well, how could he have gotten it so terribly wrong and be accused of his murder?
Shocking, heartbreaking and definitely thought provoking!
Solid Five Stars

I loved this book! I have not read, nor heard of the author T.M Logan before and I am grateful to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
I was hooked from page one and had no clue of the direction this book would eventually take. I did not warm up to Mel at all though so I was happy that Joe didn’t have his head in the sand and was keeping his options open!
I would definitely recommend this book and am looking forward to his next!

"Lies" is an exciting psychological thriller.
Joe`s helplessness was almost tangible between the pages and a real nightmare for anyone using Facebook and the modern media.
Until the end, one puzzles and then ... wow ... absolutely unpredictable end.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was an enjoyable read from this first book author. It did not involve a lot of suspense but for some reason kept my page turning. I book I would recommend to others.

Lies, Lies, Lies, we have all told them and we have all believed them. Joe is in a race against time to find the answers and the truths he needs. I love books with twist after twist and this one didn’t disappoint in that area! It’s a stay up late read that you don’t want to put down into you have the answers that you are asking!

Thank you to the publisher for an advanced copy for an honest review.

This was a fantastic, original and fast read (even touching some crucial problems that society likes to either up-play or down-play), best if consumed late at night. When I was about 15% in I started telling my husband about the clues given, asking him if he could guess where it was going. We both agreed that it's well executed and even if the ending is no big deal the read itself is conversation worthy.

Almost every chapter ends with such a cliffhanger that makes this book literally unputdownable. There wasn't a dull moment down the line, not a draggy section or boring character.

I would highly recommend this to everyone looking for a thrill while basking in holiday sun, and I will certainly keep reading this author.

"Lies," had me up all night. The pacing is quite fast, which I personally enjoy, with new cliffhangers every few pages. I was suspicious of EVERYONE, including the narrator, which means that the author did a great job making everybody look like a combination of good and evil.

This book is an intense psychological thriller. It keeps you guessing throughout and hit with a bombshell at the end. The characters are well-defined and very realistic. The style of writing has just enough detail to get the job done, there are no wasted words. The primary issue could affect anyone, giving the story a special layer of fear. The ending i9s satisfactory, but does not lead to a feeling of happiness. Perhaps it is all too real!

Amazing book! My first by this Author. When Joe follows his wife's car into the car park of a hotel to please his young son, he does not expect to see her with her best friend's husband, This story grabbed me at the beginning and didn't let go. I didn't even mind being led down the garden path by the Author! I could not have predicted the ending. I highly recommend this book. Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and the Author for allowing me to read and review this book.

I loved this book!! A fast moving plot with lots of twists and turns. I never would have predicted the ending! This book was unlike many other books that I have read lately, because it captured my interest from the very first chapter. The author ended every chapter with a cliff hanger, which was very unique to me. I literally found myself saying I would read just a couple more pages and yet I could not put it down. I would highly recommend this book. It was a joy to read. Great story line, great writing style!

One of the best books I have read this year! A brilliant, heart stopping, roller coaster ride!! Joe Lynch is an average guy. A school teacher with a four year old son and a wife he adores. He lives a predictable, ordinary life, highlighted only by games he plays with his son and the occasional family barbeque. One ordinary night on the way home from picking his son up at school he sees his wife's car turn into a hotel parking garage. What ensues next is a brilliant psychological thriller that will keep the reader guessing late into the night. Impossible to put down! A page turning, nail biting thriller for fans of Gone Girl and Girl on a Train. Nothing is as it seems as Joe's ordinary world become extraordinary and he rushes against time to find out the truth. about that night.

I know people always talk about books they can't put down, but this is the first time I've read a book in one sitting. Grabs you, sucks you in and you can't move until the last page. First rate thriller, and ten stars to this author who I'd like to see a lot more of!

Review: LIES by T. M. Logan

Wow! Wow! Wow! LIES fulfills every hype blurb I've ever read about psychological thrillers, maximally! I couldn't catch my breath; I couldn't stop. Feckless Protagonist Joe Lynch is an unassuming secondary teacher of English literature in a London private academy. He loves his wife and is very devoted to his four-year-old son, William (quite possibly more devoted than William's mother). As often happens, Nice Guys (and the Feckless) don't succeed, and often either life dumps on them or they are viewed as a patsy by the winner-takes-all mentality. For Joe, a combination of these suddenly kicks into play, and Joe finds his personal world topsy-turvy, his reputation a shambles, his career destroyed, his marriage collapsing, and himself under suspicion of murder.

No matter how I tried and twisted possibilities, the denouement was still a knockout punch. What a novel!

What an awesome book! I think my heart was in my throat from the second chapter. There is so much action and drama. The lies just keep piling up. Ben was such an evil part of the story. So when the last twist of the book comes out I was totally amazed. This is the best book I have read in a very long time! This author deserves awards upon awards.
