This is hands down tied for my favorite Sarah Adams book (right up there with The Cheat Sheet). I loved every minute of this book. Annie and Will were absolute perfection together. The banter and the flirting was top tier. This is probably one of my favorite RomCom's of all time. Would read this over and over again!

I wouldn't usually enjoy a closed door romance, but Sarah Adams is so good at building the chemistry between her leads that I didn't feel like it was missing anything! Perfect pacing for a slow burn, friends to lovers rom com.

I adored When in Rome by @authorsarahadams in 2022 and I was so excited to see there was a sequel out. Practice Makes Perfect follows Noah’s youngest sister Annie and her quest to find a husband. One night out, while on the worst date ever, Annie spots her crush Will back in town. He is the bodyguard for her famous pop singer future Sister-in-Law and he’s tall, tattooed and handsome. She’s far too shy and sweet for someone like Will Griffin.

Except they say opposites attract and that’s exactly what happens here. After Amelia asks Will to help Annie with her dating life, Annie is mortified, but secretly pleased that he agrees. Their first “lesson” gives her butterflies and he feels a spark too. As they get closer, the town notices and begins a petition to keep this outsider away from their Sweet Annie. Although maybe she doesn’t want to be so sweet anymore…

I loved it! They were the perfect mix of hard and soft together. They both had parental issues; hers was that they passed too young and his had a toxic marriage and took it out on Will. They both recognized they had these shortfalls and were able to help each grow past these hang ups. Rome is the cutest small town and I loved all the town gossips and nosey neighbors. I really hope we get a 3rd book soon!

"When in Rome" was a pleasant surprise for me in 2022, and I really enjoyed "Practice Makes Perfect". While I do generally enjoy small-town, closed-door romances, sometimes they end up feeling a bit too cutesy and cheesy for me, but I feel like Adams has found a sweet spot in this series. The chemistry between Annie and Will was great, but I also really love the family dynamics we get with Annie's family.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I unexpectedly liked this one! Very sweet, and it also made me laugh. When first starting, I wasn't sure that this would be my cup of tea but I grew to really like the main characters. By the end of the book, I was rooting for them both. I found Annie and Will to be super relate-able and it was nice to see them work through their issues both alone and together. Dialogue felt a bit corny sometimes, but it was still a fun, easy read. A good palette cleanser book for sure, especially with Valentine's Day coming up.

I unexpectedly really enjoyed this one! It was sweet and touching, and also made me laugh quite a few times. I also liked that it was closed door, though I readily admit that isn't everyone's cup of tea! At the beginning, I was unsure that I would like either of the main characters, but they both grew on me, and I was rooting for them by the end. I think both Annie and Will have stories that many people can relate to. I liked seeing them work through their issues both alone and together. My only complaint was that the dialogue could feel a bit corny sometimes, but that won't stop me from reading more Sarah Adams. I would definitely recommend this to patrons, especially with Valentine's Day coming up!

Sweet, small-town girl falls for tough bodyguard in this fun rom-com love story. Characters are quirky and entertaining. Happily ever after ending.

Annie and Noah are a lovely match. Both are shyer characters who help unfold each other with fun things like piratical role playing and undercover "practice" dating. Sarah Adams makes another fun, funny, and very sweet trip to Rome, Kentucky on the dear readers' behalf and we love her for it.
Thanks so much for the ARC!

Another great book by Sarah Adam’s . Love a bad boy/ good girl storyline especially in a small town. I could barely put it down from start to finish!

This was just okay to me. I'm really sad that I had a middle of the road reaction to Sarah Adams writing, as I have been super interested in reading her books for a while. I'm usually really into cheesy stuff but unfortunately this type of writing did not work for me. The main character was very "I'm not like other girls" which always gives me the ick.

I think this was my favorite book by Sarah Adams! I love a bodyguard romance and this was extra fun because the love interest wasn't the person being protected. Their connection felt sweet and special. Such a great slow burn

Sarah Adam’s does it again! Absolutely adorable! I could not put this book down. The frustration of being titled “innocent” and being dismissed resonated with me. Can’t wait to see what else Rome, KY brings!

If Sarah writes it, I’m going to read it! After loving (LOVING) When In Rome, I was so excited to get a copy of this new book. I adored being back in this fictional world and I was swooning over the relationship between Annie and Will. Can Will be my new book boyfriend!? The characters had DEPTH and I couldn’t get enough. A quick read that tugs your heartstrings. Sarah does love right!!!

This was such a cute read! Annie and Will’s chemistry and banter was so fun to watch, and the small-town setting was cozy and vibrant. The writing was engaging, and I didn’t want to put the book down! I haven’t read When in Rome, but I didn’t feel lost or behind. A wonderful feel-good, closed-door romance!

Practice Makes Perfect-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Obviously I had to start Practice Makes Perfect immediately after finishing When in Rome because I just loved it so much. I think I liked this one even better! I loved the way our main Character Annie Walker really comes into her character and starts living for herself again and not for everyone around her. I also love that Will Griffin, notorious bad boy, is the one who gets her out of her shell and ends up falling for the sweet girl next door. All around the perfect cute and feel good book to get cozy and read.

I really enjoyed this one! Super cute. I fell in love with the characters and the town. I’m not a huge fake dating lover but this one was done really well. In love with Sarah’s writing!

I would read a grocery list Sarah Adams writes, so I had very high hopes going into this, and was not disappointed. I enjoy a small town fake dating romance as much as the next person, and found myself swooning over Will more times than I'd care to admit. Can't wait to see what she has out next!
