In Love at 350°, Lisa Peers crafts a deliciously immersive world centered around the high-stakes culinary competition. The vivid portrayal of Sonoma's wine country and the behind-the-scenes drama of the baking show create a rich backdrop that enhances the novel’s charm. The competition setting, filled with kitchen mishaps and culinary creativity, adds a layer of excitement and authenticity that anchors the romance.

The pacing of the novel is well-structured, with the slow-burn romance between Tori and Kendra unfolding naturally amidst the backdrop of the competition. As they navigate the challenges and pressures of the show, their evolving relationship is compellingly drawn out, making their eventual connection feel earned and genuine. The book captures the tension and growth in both the characters and their burgeoning romance, keeping readers engaged from start to finish.

Thank you to NetGalley and Alcove Press for the eARC!

What a fluffy and fun book! While technically a romance there wasn’t too much of that aspect here, but as a casual fan of Great British Bake-off I didn’t mind. This was so cozy and I loved the baking competition scenes and both FMCs.

Full of fun baking scenes, some intrigue with many twists throughout the in-universe production, and lots of pining and letter writing back and forth - this was a great, fast read that was light and enjoyable. I recommend it for any fans of GBB!

This was an interesting take on a cooking romance because there wasn’t much romance at all??

In general I am kind of over cooking romances but gave this one a try anyways.

This novel focuses mostly on the idea of the cooking show and adds just a touch of romance throughout.

This was a breath of fresh air and exactly the book I needed to fend off a threatened book slump. I LOVE a reality show meet-cute and having this one between a judge and a contestant was an especially fun set up.

The competition was definitely more of the focus, but I really enjoyed the tension and the forbidden element of their attraction. I also loved how great of a mom Tori was and how much her twins adored her. It was just an all around feel-good book and I definitely recommend giving it a go.

Final note: This absolutely made me want to go whip up something delicious in the kitchen. Maybe a Paper Bag Apple Pie?

Thank you so much to Random House, Dial Press, and NetGalley for this eARC. All opinions are my own.

Beautiful queer romance. I love love love anything that is a behind the scenes of a tv show, movie, any kind of set. It’s like a little peak behind the curtain. And this one had a great romance element to it

The tone of this story was a lot different than what I was expecting. It wasn't bad, I just think this book was marketed more as a romance than what it actually is. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the writing style. I think other readers will really enjoy this book, but it wasn't for me.

A sapphic cooking show-themed romance. It's really cute, super sweet, so if you're into those types of romances, you'd love this. I was half and half on this one.

I’m sure this book will be great for some! But it was not for me. Super cute idea! I just couldn’t get through it.

This book was an absolute delight, though readers should know the main dish was the reality TV baking competition, and the romance is a slow burn side dish.

Loved this sapphic cooking show book! In the beginning this book kind of gave midlife crisis with her doing this baking show in her schools summer break while her kids go away to college. This is a classic enemies to lover book and it just works

I really wanted this to be good, but unfortunately this was more about baking than romance. Its like I was reading a book version of the Great British Bake Off.

I enjoyed the plot and the dialogue in this story. It was nice to see people my age represented in books for a change.

A cute and fun read! I enjoyed it a lot. I don't know why I didn't get to this one sooner. I had a blast reading it.

This was so good! Not totally what I was expecting in a romance. I would say this is more romance light. But I loved the character development of Kendra and Tori. This was like if Great British Bake Off was made into a book and I was living for it. I love a sapphic romance and this one did not disappoint! Can't wait to see what Lisa writes next!

One of the best novels set around a reality TV baking competition that I’ve ever read. You really grow to care for the contestants and especially the love story at its heart.

Love at 350° was an absolute delight of a book. I'm a former professional baker and books with baking in them often make me cringe because they don't seem very accurate, but this book took so much care in describing the food and techniques that were used in the competition, and it felt so genuine. I really loved that Tori and Kendra were in their 40's because it added a level of maturity to their characters, which I don't always see in romances with younger characters. There was also really no drama between them throughout the story, which made it extra cozy. Lisa Peers is definitely an author I'll eager to read more books from!
