This book is adorable.

Told in dual timelines of first love and second chance love. It’s a perfect blend of contemporary and Hallmark Christmas Movie vibes.

The story is engaging, well plotted, and a perfect read for all the holiday feels.

This was a really cute story. It was a bit too cheesey at times, but overall a lot of fun. I would love to see this turned into a Hallmark movie, or something similar. I can definitely see myself re-reading this at Christmas time.

REVIEW ↡
i decided to read ’TIS THE DAMN SEASON to cross another netgalley arc off my list, this time in honor of christmas in july! overall this book wasn’t for me for a few reasons. i don’t like musician/actress celebrity MCs, so i wasn’t attached to aspen’s character. the plot was disjointed, and it felt like certain themes/events were randomly thrown in and then never mentioned again.

the positives for me were 1) the book was clearly written by a swiftie and i loved the playlist/swiftie references!! and 2) the author was 16 when this book came out, which is beyond impressive!! this was also a quick read and i started/finished it in one day.

I ate this book, even though I read it in October and not December.

Whenever I see a playlist, I always appreciate the effort of the author in sharing their inspiration and matching the vibes of the book to music. I also absolutely loved the little TS references and hints... and lets face it, it would have been disappointing without them.

Thank you Netgalley for sending me this arc to review!

Kimi Freeman's "‘Tis the Damn Season" is like a holiday cocktail—sweet, a bit tangy, and occasionally too strong. The story follows Holly, a big-city girl who returns to her small hometown for the holidays. Cue the cozy vibes and quirky townsfolk! And how about that Taylor Swift reference?!?

Freeman nails the small-town charm. Aspen is a relatable protagonist, though her journey feels a bit predictable at times. The romance subplot is cute but doesn't break any new ground.

The book shines in its humor and quirky characters, but sometimes it feels like it's trying a bit too hard to be juvenile. Overall, it's a fun holiday read that brings the cheer, even if it doesn't completely dazzle.

I thought that this was a fun second chance romance loosely based around the holidays. I liked Roman and Aspens past and now chapters. I liked seeing things play out and how they got where they were. There were some heavy topics in this that I wasn't expecting but they were written well and fit in the plot with no problem. I liked watching them work with the kids for the Christmas play. That was super cute. All in all I enjoyed this and had a fun time while reading.

This book had no business being as cute as it was! If you’ve ever listened to ‘Tis the damn season by Taylor Swift and thought, ‘I wish there was a book about this couple’ (I mean, who hasn’t?), then you’re in luck because this book was written for you.

Thanks to Netgalley for an eARC. I picked this up because of the connection to the Taylor Swift song. An actress/singer gets dragged into a scandal so she returns home while things die down. She reunites with her high school boyfriend. Some cute moments and clean romance. Does read more as a young adult book. Good first book for the author but nothing that will really stick with me.

I was so excited to read this and it didn’t reach any of my expectations. This felt like it was written by a middle school student and none of the story flowed well, everything felt choppy.

When I started to read this book I didn’t have any expectations for it. It surprised me. It was way more deeper than I expected -and that was the best part. See how the characters grow.
Over all like it.

This was a cutsie Christmasy book- second chance, rockstar story. I really enjoyed watching Rome and Pen find each other again and fighting together to have the life they wanted. It was a great palate cleanser compared to what I normally read. If you like clean romance this is definitely a great option.

The title being a Taylor Swift song is 100% what drew me into this book.

Even though our characters in this story were adults, the vibes were definitely YA.

When I continued to read this story I loved how it was inspired but the Taylor Swift song.

I hope that this author continues to take Taylor songs and turn them into stories.

Wow, I can't finish this book. An SA came out of left field without a warning. Trigger warnings are necessary for the reader to be prepared.

This was a super cute swiftie romance! A solid 4 ⭐️

It was sweet, and fun but nothing i’ll ever really think about again besides the fact is was Taylor Swift inspired lol, but for a debut novel this was a really good start and I hope this author writes more!

This book was so good! First off I love the Taylor Swift reference with the title, that it what had me initially wanting to read it. This book had all the things I love in a book, dual timeline story, rekindling a past romance. I also love any story where someone famous has to go back to their quiet small town, or their hometown to get their life back on track. I really enjoyed this book and will continue to read books by this author !

I had an exceptionally hard time getting through Tis the Damn Season by Kimi Freeman. While the characters are in their mid twenties, I felt there was a childish edge to the book that didn't resonate with me. I was so excited by the Taylor Swift reference in the title and was truly hopeful for a fun, TTDS esque vibe, but it felt like a struggle to even get through the book.

I received a copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest and fair review.

*Tis the Damn Season* has a great concept and an engaging premise. However, I found the writing style to be too youthful for my taste. While the story itself holds promise and could appeal to a younger audience, it didn't quite resonate with me. It’s a decent read for those who enjoy a more contemporary, youthful tone, but it wasn't the right fit for me.
