My thoughts:
I loved the concept of this book, but sadly the execution wasn’t there for me. I felt like the MMC having been abused was brushed over and only brought up a couple times. I also thought the whole story felt a bit rushed, maybe having read the other books in this series would have made me like this book more but I felt like the characters were very superficial and not 3 dimensional.

Summary:
Former Air Force pilot Finch unexpectedly ignites a passionate connection with Jolene, but hidden secrets fracture their love. A year later, fate reunites them for a healing journey filled with emotions, danger, and the test of their love amid a storm.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this eARC.

Jolene’s justice is the first book I read by Amanda Zook and I will be definitely going to get the other 6 of the Nighthawk Search and Rescue Series.

I liked the main characters a lot and the way we were getting to know their past little by little and were introduced to their deeper feelings. Finch’s backstory is special and really got me thinking about the issue. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll just say that I appreciated the fact that something like that was addressed and I liked the way it was handled.

The book is written in 3rd person and has some spicy moments (2/5🌶️). I must say I liked how those intimate scenes felt natural and not too out-of-this world.

I would have liked a few more pages dedicated to the mysteries surrounding our MCs because I enjoyed the suspense.

Overall, I definitely recommend it for romance lovers. 4/5 ⭐️.

PS. I don’t think the cover does the book justice- the story is much more than what is implied on the front page.

Thank you Amanda Zook for providing this book for review via NetGalley.

When she is notified that her father is in the hospital, she needs to get to him, but hadn’t counted on help from Atticus “Finch” Mobey. She trusted Finch, after her first failed relationship, at least until his wife arrived. She finally agreed to let Finch, a former Air Force pilot and pilot for Nighthawk Search and Rescue, to fly her to the hospital. When he learns that she has been receiving threatening text messages and malicious interference with her business, he knows that someone is after her, but who and why? Finch finally realizes that Jolene deserves to know the disaster his marriage was, no matter the embarrassment this may cause for him. Will she provide the support he needs as they battle those who are determined to bring them both down? Action and suspense until the very last page! The facts that are brought up in this book are eye opening for me. I really never think about abuse that men especially strong men might go through by women. I cried a little when Finch was telling Jolene his story. And explained the shame that he still felt. The way that she comforted him is awesome. I truly loved reading, Jolene's Justice. It should be a must read on all romance lovers list.

Jolene has been hurt before. Her ex had secrets and when they came out, her world was turned upside down. She moves away from New York and starts over. She has her own restaurant and is doing good. She meets Finch, a former Air Force pilot.
Finch now works for Nighthawk Search and Rescue and wants a relationship with Jolene. When Jolene finds out about Finch's secrets, she wants nothing to do with him. She's been hurt by a lying man and wants nothing to do with another one.
Now a year later and Jolene's father has a heart attack and Finch offers to fly her back to her hometown. She reluctantly accepts but has no intention of forgiving him. They have to make an emergency landing and go to visit her father. Jolene has been receiving strange texts and when they are run off the road, they began to worry. When Jolene finally lets Finch explain about his secret, she's horrified over what he was put through.
Jolene gives Finch a second chance but will the stalker take it from them?
First time reading this author and she is excellent! Sex. Mystery. Second chances. Secrets.
