Thank you for this advance copy. I really enjoyed this book. It kept me up all night reading, I just could not stop!

I had high hopes for The Switch, however it feel flat to me. It possibly may just not have been the book for me but personally, I thought the writing/story/plot was cringey and it was just too difficult for me to muster through. It was hard for me to root for any of the characters because it was just too much of a toxic mess.

I can see the appeal of the synopsis and story and it may be right up your alley. If you like toxic storylines, unlikeable characters, and drama, this one may be for you (I am sorry if that sounds sarcastic, it isn't meant to be haha) :)

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review :)

I loved the beginning and middle of the book, however the ending dragged. it was predictable and Sophia’s POV didn’t add much to the story. I would still recommend the book to friends because the writing style was easy and entertaining, but I was just so disappointed in the ending! 3.5 rounded down

"Two couples. One twisted game of love and obsession."
The Switch was a page turning thriller that is suspenseful and seductive. This author did a great job writing this book and the characters in the book were good. I enjoyed the ending so much in this book and would have never guessed the ending. I look forward to reading more books by this author. The book was one I highly enjoyed and would recommend to any reader who loves a good thriller. Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for this book in exchange of my honest review of The Switch.

Thanks to Netgalley for this free Arc.

Elena and Adam are excited to go housesit for a relative in a super posh area of London. They aren't used to living in such a great house and area. Elena then meets her new friend Sophia. Sophia is super glamorous and Elena is so happy to be near her. Sophia has a husband named Finn who is gorgeous. One day Sophia comes up with the idea to "Switch" partners without the men finding out. Before you know it Elena is in the middle of a secret (from Adam) affair but what she doesn't know about Sophia could change many many things.

This book was super attention grabbing in the beginning for me but then it started to slow for a bit. Some of what was going on was a little out there for me but if you just remember it's fiction and not what would happen in real life you'll be fine. Throughout the book we have the current story line as well as some things that happened in the past. I feel this was a plot driven book more than a character driven one. We do learn about the characters backstory here and there but not enough to say they drove the story.

Once the twists and turns started coming into play the book definitely picked up pace for me again and I'd say overall I enjoyed it. This is a debut novel for Lily and I find it was well laid out and she delivered with the twists. Can't wait for future books from her.

Eleanor meets Sophia and the crazy begins. Two pairs of relationships that are lacking something. A wild idea is put on the table and what comes of it is a ton of skeletons from the closet!

What did I just read? HAHA Meet two couples who are caught in a scandalous suspenseful double crossing of love. I found myself hooked from the beginning and definitely binged this one. I was definitely caught up in this story. I enjoy the writing style - definitely interested in what else this author writes next. Even though this had a very out of pocket plot - I was sucked in.

I really have no words for this book other than it was nauseating and kind of insane. I have not read anything like it before.

Thank you to NetGalley, Pamela Dorman Books and the author for this DRC in exchange for my honest review.

Can you say sexy thriller? Whew baby. A twist and turns and a great ending. I have NOT read a book like this one before and it won't be the last

I am very glad that I ignored the previous ARC reviews for this book as I found it pretty good. Did the book have similar concepts to others? Yes- but the way Lily Samson presented it all took it in a whole new direction. The Switch is about two wives that decide to switch husbands for the night without the husbands knowing. Each wife has their own ulterior motive, and while at times it’s a bit predictable, the way the author wrapped it all up at the end was quite pleasing.

Overall, I’d give it 4/5⭐️s. Thank you to NetGalley and Pamela Dorman Books for the ARC.

Dual timelines done really well! This was such a mind bender, really twisty and kept me guessing. If you're looking for a good thriller - pick this up!

Excellent book. The twists and turns kept coming and totally blindsided me! This is my first read for the author and will definitely be looking forward to what she comes up with next!

Solid 4 star thriller! There was enough back and forth that I wasn't sure what Sophia was up to throughout most of the book. It felt like from the beginning that she had some ulterior motives in doing these switches with Elena and that she was definitely playing her, but for what gain? Her stories didn't always match up, and I questioned things like the so called stalker Finn had from a pervious switch.
You do have to just accept that their long term partners are unobservant enough to not notice to not notice the switch.
The ending, I did figure out what was going on a ways before it was revealed and never questioned it, including the epilogue, hence the four stars.
All in all, this was a fast paced read with a lot of what in the worlds is going on. I'll definitely read the authors next book.

Thanks NetGalley for the arc!

Two women become friends and decide to switch places with each other in bed with the other's husband without the men knowing. (This was done by men in the movie Consenting Adults but with different outcomes/motives.)

I don't have a problem with this premise but I didn't like any of the characters and the pacing was so slow I found it difficult to stay interested in the story. After starting and stopping over several weeks I was finally able to finish the novel and can't say I'm glad I did. The ending was as unsatisfactory and implausible as the story itself.

Hopefully Samson will continue to hone her craft and improve on her next endeavor.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

This book is crazy-good in an outlandish way that will have you re-examining your marriage--especially if you keep secrets from your spouse! Elena and Adam are married, as are new friends Sophia and Finn. But when Sophia suggests "the switch" (meaning the women switch partners in the middle of the night without their husbands' knowledge), Elena is reluctant but agrees. Each woman will make sure her husband is asleep, sneak out of bed, and enter the other's bedroom in the dead of night, have sex, and leave before he awakens. Sounds easy, right? But of course, Sophia has other darker, more devious plans for herself, and Elena just wants a bit of harmless fun. But Finn is attractive, and she finds herself drawn to him even when the couples do things together. And let's face it,..secrets in a marriage are bound to come out, and these secrets are explosive enough that nothing will ever be the same. It's a wild ride for sure!
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

Well what on earth can I say? This was a propulsive read. Was it believable? Not at all. It was entertaining and I think it had the potential to be a good story. It just didn’t flesh out for me. It seemed pretty ridiculous overall…especially the ending.

Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Book Viking for an ARC of this book in exchance for my honest review.
This book is not for everyone. The premise of two women who decide to “switch” husbands one night by slipping into the other’s bed unbeknownst to their husbands is a fun concept. Be prepared to suspend belief and go with the flow. If you can, this book will be a fun and different kind of domestic thriller filled with obsession, manipulation, and dark twists.

The Switch was a new to me author with an intriguing synopsis that had me wanting more. Slow burn to start you can call it but once it picked up in the middle, I could not put it down

An interesting story. Fast-paced. Easy and fast read. All the elements for an entertaining mystery-thriller.
