All the Little Animals by Joy Jordan-Lake is a bedtime alphabet book that takes little ones on a tour of the animal kingdom from A to Z. The illustrations by Jane Chapman are sweet and dreamy, something lovely for those heavy little eyes to rest upon as a child falls asleep. If this is the type of book you are looking for, it's a good choice. As a librarian who already has plenty of books about animals, bedtime and the alphabet, it just didn't stand out enough to add to our collection.

This is a precious book! Such a perfect book for bedtime with the added bonus of teaching the alphabet and about animals around the world. Kids and grown-ups will love beautiful pictures paired with sweet verses of all the animals getting ready for bed. It even includes a few animals I hadn’t heard of before! This one is a must to add to a classroom library or your bedtime routine!
I received an advance copy of this book for my honest opinion- thank you to the publisher and author Joy Jordan-Lake for the opportunity to read this!

This is a beautifully illustrated book that teaches children the alphabet letters.

Some of the words seemed a bit confusing for a younger audience, but it followed an animal theme and made sense in the context.

I was also taken back by the mention of “daddies” but I believe this was strictly for mentioning how the animal was raised, not a subtle LGBT mention.

Overall, a sweet book for children that love animals and colorful pictures.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this free copy. All opinions are my own.

From armadillos to zokors (admittedly a new animal to us!), you and your Littles with enjoy this sweet alphabetical bedtime story documenting the tender moments different animal families enjoy as they get ready for some shuteye. The lyrical rhyme scheme and whimsical illustrations are the fitting combination to lull your wee ones to sleep.

Superlative A-Z book, counting through the letters and visiting the bedtime lodgings of them all, from the jungles with their vultures to the Arctic tunnels of, well – the spread of critters is really quite diverse and is best left discovered. The verse is wonderfully well rhymed, and seems to get more from its meter and what seems to be an eighteen-beat line. Every pixel is coloured, a lot of them have a gentle way with cutesiness, and the purpose of it all – to revise the alphabet, scour the planet for the more interesting beasties of it and to get sent to sleep alongside all the other animals – just has to be successful. If this were a less crowded market I'd automatically say this will be a hit – but it is a busy shelf, of such books, so I can only hope it is a strong seller. It's close enough to five stars to make no difference.

{Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my gifted e-copy of this title in exchange for an honest review.}

This book was positively adorable! I loved the animals from a-z, and I so appreciated that this author found animals that are not often included in the typical a-z animal list. My kids loved this book and its beautiful illustrations. I’ll be buying a hard copy of this one!

A calming and cuddly bedtime read!

Starting with “A for armadillo,” this picture book goes through the alphabet with a different set of animals as they go to sleep on each page.

Animals are always an easy sell for my kids and the first time we read this one together, we went through it 3 times in a row. They loved discovering what animals were going to be at each page-turn and I even learned a few new animals (I can imagine it was a little more difficult to find ones that started with “U” and “X” 😉).

This one has an educational element to it but also makes for some sweet time before bed to cuddle up as a family and talk about cute animals. It’s one kiddos will ask for again and again!

This is about all the little animals going to sleep. It’s an alphabet book that works from A-to-Z and I do appreciate that they choose different animals than is usually expected in A-Z animal books. The illustrations are fun, and kids will enjoy this.

I love this bedtime book! The alphabet usage for the animals is adorable and I love that they chose to use more unusual animals besides the standard dog, cat, etc. I feel like this book would be great for introducing different animals and is lyrical enough for bedtime reading. Beautiful illustrations make it perfect for every child!

Joy Jordan-Lake's newest children's book is an absolute masterpiece! I look forward to reading this bedtime book to my 4-year-old grandson. He will be captivated as Jordan-Lake introduces him to new animals and teaches him new things about familiar ones. Reading this book was certainly a learning experience for me! Jane Chapman's illustrations are enthralling, drawing the reader in with delicate details. I will be gifting this book to several young friends.

All the Little Animals: A Bedtime Book from A-Z is the most adorable book with a gentle litany describing the bedtime habits of unusual animals bedding down for the night. Joy Jordan-Lake has selected some favorite animals like flamingos and sea otters, but has also included unusual species like the cassowaries and quokkas (both new to me). Jane Chapman’s illustrations are so lovely and relaxing. Your little one will enjoy the A-Z discoveries of how each of these animals settles down for the night. This wonderful book is for anyone with younger children, grandchildren, or a love for A-Z books.

A special thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you so much to Thomas Nelson Children’s and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

This was literally the most gorgeous bed time picture book, an A-Z of all the little animals and how they nested down to sleep with their mamas and papas. It was just so soothing, relaxing and beautiful.

I loved the illustrations they were so detailed seeing all the different animals, some of which I didn’t even know existed but i do now. I loved seeing how they’d cuddle up to their parents as they went sleep, all the babies were so cute.

This book is a perfect bed time read, the way it’s written is very comforting, seeing all the other animals sleeping offers that to children knowing that they sleep in their beds all warm and cosy. They can dream about these animals and how they sleep after seeing and hearing the story.

I throughly enjoyed this book, it was beautiful and delicate and sweet, you can learn a lot from it but in a very easy natural way. It’s a great book to read before bed you’ll get a good night sleep from this book, due to its soothing nature and tone.

We are so thankful to have been able to view as an ebook ARC. What an adorable and fun way to show our little ones the alphabet. Using animals the author uses lyrical rhyme to tell the story of some of our favorite animals as we learn about their days and see how they snuggle together at night. This is a perfect addition to the bedtime routine. The illustrations are beautifully done and create a warm feeling with soft colors and calm feeling pictures. We absolutely love this book and can’t wait to add it to our home library. It also makes a great gift for families of littles ones who love animals. I also think this would be a wonderful addition to any early childhood classroom.
I would give a hundred stars.

READ TO ME.
This is a lovely book for bedtime (or even nap time) taking us through the alphabet of baby animals found throughout the world while naming and explaining in rhyme.
The illustrations by Jane Chapman are fun, mildly detailed, brilliantly diverse, and delightful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school, church library, or your local public library! If getting as eBook, be sure to get Adobe Digital Editions on laptop for absolutely best effect.
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Thomas Nelson: CHILDREN'S | Tommy Nelson via NetGalley. Thank you!

Cute and simple little book that shows different animals across the world and their young ones going to bed. A nice little addition to a child's library if you don't already have one of these "see how other animals go to bed" - books.
Decent art style.

Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson: Children's for an advanced read copy of this book.

All The Little Animals is an adorable bedtime and alphabet book for young children. Jane Chapman has once again "wowed" me with her adorable illustrations that draw little readers right into the book. My kindergarten aged daughter loved reading this book and we both learned about some animals that we have never heard of before.

This book would be a great addition to my special education classroom as it focuses on each letter of the alphabet in sequential order. It would pair nicely with letter-sound correspondence activities and letter identification practice. I could think of lots of ways to work on these skills while incorporating this book as a read aloud.
